disclaimer. You recognize the name it ain’t mine It was raining, cold. Everyone felt the rain tickle their backs sending chills down their spines. Pulling out their umbrellas, some tried to shelter their heads from rain that poured endlessly. Even those who did not fiddled with the buttons of their dark coats. Everyone did something in the rain. Everyone but the two sisters. They just glanced at the hole in the ground and the gleaming wooden box that hovered over it. Suddenly, the box was lowered and mud, dirt and flowers were thrown with care to cover it. But this box wasn’t just a box. Inside it box was someone special. So special, she was the peacemaker, the person who held the family together. And now, without her that family was falling apart.
Prue was mad. Mad at Phoebe, she was the one who killed her Piper. She was a murderer. She should be dead, not Piper. Why Piper saved Phoebe and gave away her own life for that useless brat, she would never know.
The wind blew gently in Phoebe’s face as she listened to Piper’s favorite song as it began to play…Incubus – echo…

There's something about the look in your eyes
Something I noticed when the light was just right
It reminded me twice that I was alive
And it reminded me that you're so worth the fight

My biggest fear will be the rescue of me
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah

Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting
could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting

Theres something about the way you move
I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing
More subtle than something someone contrives
Your movements echo that I have seen the real thing

Your biggest fear will be the rescue of you
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah

Could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting
could you show me dear... Something I've not seen?
Something infinitely interesting

Phoebe cried as the pain tore through her heart. She turned around to face Prue, hoping to at least have some comfort from her big sister. But Prue just gave her a glare and walked away without even looking back. Phoebe didn’t know why but that reminded her of one day when they were all kids and making promises…

Little Piper ran around the back yard. On every step, she would shout a word, “You know, I will die for you and Phoebe and I promise to…” She paused, just long enough for her to grab hold of the hose and stray her sisters. “To get you wet!” She finished the sentence in a laughing fit as she watched her sisters squeal.

Prue was crying in the car, it hurt. Hurt to talk to anyone. Hurt to touch her baby sister. She hit the wheel in anger. Why her Piper? What had Piper done to deserve this?

Phoebe stayed where she was, standing in that very same spot. She jumped when the thunder roars. It was only then she felt the rain. Rain and storms, put the two together, it was what Phoebe feared the most. Piper knew that. She knew of her sister’s fear. She would comfort her until it was over, but Prue on the other hand would just yell at her, calling her a baby.
Phoebe thought about Piper, all the things she done in their lives. There was absolutely no way she would have survived without Piper.
“No way, no way, no way….” Phoebe kept crying. Her tears mixed with the rain. She saw the car, unmoving. She watched as Prue screamed with anger. She so wanted to help but she didn’t know how. How could she comfort her older sister and said that everything would be all right when it was just a lie. How could she say that Piper is happy?! She was killed by a demon, saving her own life? Phoebe sighed, she wished that it was her in that coffin; Piper should grow old, marry a nice guy and have children, not her.
It was her fault, all her fault. No one else's, just her's. She wouldn't have had to witness today if she hadn't been such a screw up. She scolded herself painfully. Phoebe shot one last pitiful look at Prue before dropping her head and beginning her long walk home in the pouring, honest rain. She needed some time. Some…maybe not just some, maybe a lot. She prayed the rain could wash away her pain.

Prue tasted the salt in her mouth; quickly she knew it was her tears. She wiped it away. She had to stay strong, she don’t know who for though. She peered out of the window and stared at the freshly covered earth. She wanted to dig it all out again, wake Piper from her eternal slumber. Jump on her bed, yelling at her on Saturday morning, but she couldn’t do that, now that time is gone…gone…gone. More tears ran down her face as she opened the car door, her foot touched the muddy ground. She walked slowly, listening to the squishing of the mud and the tapping of the rain. She didn’t stop until she was standing on the earth. The earth that covered her sister. That meant she was standing on Piper. Piper wouldn’t even be able to feel it anymore. That made Prue’s heart tug.
She fell to her knees, hands pressed against the new grave stone which read ‘Sleep well Piper. Be safe. We all love you’ engraved on it. She followed the writing with her finger, re-played the scene of her death in her head over and over…

“Phoebe watch out,” yelled Piper as she pushed Phoebe out of the fireball’s path, desperately trying to save her sister. She had fulfilled her mission but in doing so had lost her life; she received the full hit of the fireball. In fury, Prue knocked the demon out and killed him with a kitchen knife. He disappeared in a bundle of flames.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that she too would risk her own life to save Phoebe’s. She kissed the grave and gave a small smile, whispering the last words, “Thank you Piper, you taught me a good lesson. But I wish it hadn’t come to this.” Prue looked around, looking for her baby sister. She wasn’t there. Home. That was where she would be. At home. She didn’t know if she could face going to the place where Piper was murdered. But she wanted to keep her baby sister. She couldn’t lose another one. She took a deep and long breath before she faced her fear.

Prue slowly opened the door, the rain had stopped and the sun shone once again. Tears escaped from her eyes around she entered the sitting room. What she had to witness. Phoebe held her legs closely together to her chest, mumbling under her breath. She was shivering of both fear and coldness. Prue kneeled in front of her, touching her face gently. Phoebe flinched slightly. She feared that Prue would hit her, after all Piper’s death was her fault. If only, if only she wasn’t in their way. She was just a sitting duck. She felt herself being lifted and carried to the bathroom. The touch was so warm, some of her fear subsided and she relaxed, but not much. She let Prue change her and place her in the bath. She listen to Prue rambling on and on about how it wasn’t her fault.
Prue was worried now; Phoebe just stared into the space. Thinking she did something wrong. She just broke down in the bathroom. At that moment Phoebe was snapped out of her shock. She crept out of the bath and wrapped the towel around her. She nervously sits down in front of Prue. Phoebe took Prue’s hand and held it tight. She started to sing softly.

You ever want something
That you know you shouldn't have
The more you know you shouldn't have it,
The more you want it
And then one day you get it,
It's so good too
But it's just like my girl
When she's around me
I just feel so good, so good
But right now I just feel cold, so cold
Right down to my bones
'Cause ooh...

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away

Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away

I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know, know, know, know, know,
I know, I know,
Hey I ought to leave
I ought to leave her alone
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
Only darkness every day
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away

Prue smiled, it was beautiful. She looked at her baby sister in the eyes; she held the look as she said, “It going to be alright. We will get though this…together. I love you, nothing is going to change that.”
“I miss Piper.”
“Me too. Me too. But she is always here.” She taps Phoebe’s chest and head.
“I love you Prue.”
“And I you. Forever and Piper too.”
