The Reason Why - Missing scene from Baby’s first demon

What I thought was missing from the episode.

She sat there just watching him as his small chest moved up and down with his breath. She had taking his tiny hand in hers and he had taken a tight hold in her finger. She couldn’t help but wonder if he knew she was there and who she was.

Piper stepped in the room and saw her sister with her son. Even now the miracle of that little boy still amazed her. He had been inside her for nine months and now he was here alive and stealing everyone’s hearts.

She didn’t want to disturb the peace that she felt in the room but she moved closer and rested her one hand on hr sisters shoulder and the other she placed gently on Wyatt’s stomach.

“He is so cute when he is sleeping like that.”
“He is cute all the time Piper.” She responded without taking her eyes off of him.

Piper laughed lightly, “Yeah he is isn’t he. But then again I think our opinions are slightly biased.”

Piper bent down and wrapped her arms around her sister resting her chin on her shoulder, “Can I talk to you for a minute honey?”
“Sure. What's up?”
“Um. Come here. Sit with me.” Piper took her sister hand in hers and led her, though reluctantly, to the bed.

“Piper. Why?”
“Humour me Phoebe. Sit down.”

They sat across from each other as Piper took Phoebes hands in her she held her gaze at first to the locked fingers and then looked up to the one person who would always be her baby girl.

“Honey I think you need to talk about something.”
“Ok now I’m confused Piper.”

Piper turned and looked out the window before looking back at her sister.

“Leo wanted me to talk to you about the way you are, obsessed, with Wyatt. But I don’t think that’s what it is. I think its something deeper then an aunts love for her nephew.”

Phoebe was about to protest but she knew she couldn’t lie to Piper. She never could. She stood up and went to the window. She couldn’t miss the sun brightening the flowers that were already in bloom to set the start of spring once again.

“I sometimes wonder if my son would have been anything like Wyatt. I see him and I see everything I missed. I see you with him and I realize that was something I should have had as well.” She brushed away a tear that was threatening to spill down her cheek. “But my son was pure evil so I know that is wasn’t meant to be. But it still hurts.”

Piper listened to her sister confess her love for the son that was taken from her, before she stood up and wrapped her arms around her from behind. Pulling her close to her. “Phoebe you should have said something.”
“It wasn’t for me to say anything. You baby was born of love and good magic. Mine was born from what I thought was love and darkness.” Phoebe reached up and held Pipers arms around her.
“It still hurts the same honey. You carried him inside you for only a few months but he was as much a part of you as Wyatt is me. And I have no doubt in my mind that he would have turned out to be more you then his father. And I also know that you would have made a perfect mother.” Piper reasoned with her. “He was a part of you and always will be sweetie. But you don’t need Wyatt to live what was taken from you. He would have been here anyway. And your son will always be here. Just like Prue will always be here with us.”

Phoebe let out a small chuckle between her tears, “Prue would have made sure he was more me then Cole.”
“And she is taking care of him now. In the end good always wins. We both know that. And we have to believe that they are together watching us.” Piper turned and looked at Phoebe as she wiped away a tear. “Now you have to stop been so protective of him and let him be. Got it. You are driving Leo nuts.”
“I can try. But no promises. Thanks Piper. Until you said something I’m not really sure if I understood what and why I was clinging to Wyatt the way I was.”
“You would have figured it out honey. It’s natural though for you to be like that. Now I need you help with something.”

Phoebe raised her eyebrow and looked at Piper who took her by the hand and led her out of the room.

The two of them came down the stairs and headed for the living room. Though at the bottom of the stairs Phoebe embraced Leo, “You can have your son back now.” She said before leaving him with a cheeky grin. As she followed after Piper. Leaving Leo wondering what had been said upstairs.

Later that night after dinner they had all retreated to the living room. It was something they had grown accustomed to after dinner. The four would sit and play with Wyatt or talk about their day.

“Paige< Phoebe and I have something for you.”
“Well not really for you. Because you can't really keep it.” Phoebe added in before her sister got carried away.
“Yeah well no you can't keep it but it is still as much yours as it is ours.” Piper continued as she handed Paige a rolled up piece of paper.

Leo sat in the chair with Wyatt on his lap not swaying a word. He knew what the girls had done without even seeing the final result. And he smiled at Piper as she looked over at him.

Paige slowly unrolled the old parchment paper. And as her eyes cast down to the bottom she couldn’t stop the tear that escaped down her cheek. Right next to Phoebe on the family tree was written neatly in calligraphy, Paige Matthews. July 3, 1977 (I have no idea what month Paige’s b-day is. But if memory serves me she was two years younger then Phoebe.)

Paige sat there just starring at the name. She saw Wyatt’s name under Pipers as well.

“It took a little longer then we had thought. We got talking and reminiscing about things.” Piper put in as she saw Paige’s eyes divert to the date beside Prues name. “Phoebe was having a little trouble with that one. But we wanted you to know you are as much a part of this family now and always as any of us. And we are sorry it took this long to add you on there.”

Paige reached up and wiped away a tear, “You really. It was nothing.”
“Paige look at you. It was something. And you are special to us. And hey I was getting sick of being the baby of the family anyway.” Phoebe joked as she placed an arm around her sister.
“Well I was only the baby for a year and half. Now its Wyatt.” She laughed it off as she wiped away another tear. “Thank you, you guys. This means a lot to me.” She finally gave in as she leaned against Phoebe.
“Hey I want some of that.” Piper said as she squished down between Paige and the arm of the couch, taking both her sisters into her arms, “you are both my baby sisters. Now and forever.”
