OK you may or may not recall my series that follow my Accident fic. It was four years ago that my one of my best friends, Troy, was killed in a seaplane accident. So I am doing this more for me than anything. But it is a good way to let my own tears out. To recall the memories I have….

….

….

….

The waters rolled quietly against the rocky shore. Subtle waves from the freighters that past under the bridge heading across the Pacific Ocean. They past over the rocks and the sand like passing time., making everything around them seem calm and tranquil. But there was one thing sitting there watching the waters that was anything but tranquil or calm.

The waves seemed to heighten the sadness felt within. But as she listened to the soft sound the waves made she found her thoughts drifting to a happier time years before…..

Phoebe watched behind her, waiting for the thumbs up. The minute she had it, she hit the gas on the boat and took off pulling her friend out of the water and gliding almost gracefully across. Once he was up she made her way back around towards the beach as he kicked one ski off.

“He’s good. Hit it.”

Phoebe guided the boat around the island and past the ski course.

“He wants to go around again.”
“He is not jumping that thing.” Phoebe protested. She was driving but she also knew if he wanted to go it was better her driving then any of the other idiots on the beach.
“I’d say he was. Take him around girl.”
“Augh!” Phoebe circled around and started up the lane towards the jump. “the things I do for him.”
“You mean don’t. Because that’s a shorter list.”
“Are you listening to yourself?” Phoebe laughed as she felt the boat pick up speed as her friend sailed through the air over the ski jump.

Making her way back towards the beach she pulled it hard left just in time to glide in for a stand up dry landing. Turning the boat around she came in at just the right speed to beach the bow.

She jumped out and she felt his arms pull around her, “You are the best.”
“Yeah just don’t tell your mum and dad I did that.”
“What?”
“Don’t what me. You just got out of the hospital like over a month ago, with a nearly broken back.”
“Ands I’m still as good as ever.”

She rolled her eyes and sat on her towel on the beach. “Cocky much?”
“Ya love me.” He flashed his smile and he knew he had her.

Laughing at his antics once again she couldn’t not agree with him.

“You always got me with that damn smile, even when I was pissed at you.”

She tossed another rock into the waters edge and watched as it rippled out. “God I miss you so much.” She felt the tear start down her face. She reached up to brush it away, but knew it would soon be followed by another one.

How many time had she thought of him the last four years?
When would the pain in her heart stop crushing her?
When would she see him again?

The questions of why rang in her mind. Why him? Why then?

This year seemed harder. Her best friend had moved back to LA. Leaving her alone to face the day.

She got up from the rocks and started back to her sisters’ car. She had already ignored the ringing of her cell phone three times that afternoon. And knew if she didn’t make an appearance at the Manor or at least answer the next one her sisters would kill her, or more likely Prue would.

As she pulled in the driveway she brushed away any sign of the tears she had shed. Though she knew at some point in the day she would shed more.

“Where is she?”
“Prue relax maybe her battery died.”
“If she scratched my car she’ll wish she had.”
“Prue!” Piper scolded her oldest sister as she started to get dinner ready. “Let her be today Prue.”

Prue was about to say something when she heard the front door open. “Phoebe?”
“Yeah sorry I’m late I was down at the beach.”
“Cell phone we tried like three times to call you. I was about to send Leo looking for you.” Prue started after her little sister as she headed for the stairs. “Phoebe?”

Phoebe looked down at Prue and felt the tears start again. “I can’t Prue. Not now.” She turned and ran up the stairs.

“Phoebe!” Prue started up the stairs but felt the hand on her arm.
“Let her go.”
“Pip…”
“Not today Prue. You should have remembered.” Piper let go of Prue and went back to the kitchen.

It seemed to suddenly dawn on Prue, “That’s two years now I did that to her.” She walked in the kitchen and sat at the table watching Piper. “How is it I keep doing that?”
“Cause we get caught up in our own lives.” Piper turned to Prue. “Just give her a bit before you go up and apologize.”
“It’s me that should apologize.” Prue and Piper looked up to see Phoebe standing at the kitchen door. She moved in and sat on Prue’s lap.
“I’m sorry sweetie. I forgot it was today.”
“Its ok. I don’t expect you to remember.”
“Well I should have. I knew him too. Watched you two grow up together.” Prue looked up at Piper before looking back to Phoebe. She brushed her sisters hair off her face. And saw the signs of the tears she had been shedding all day.
“I saw his mum and dad the other day.”
“How did it go?” Piper asked hoping it would help heal all of them.
“Not bad we has a good chat a few good hugs. I miss them.”
“Well it is a bit of a drive to Sacramento now.” Prue put in. she could see something in her sisters’ face a different sadness, “You hear from Laura yet?”
“No. She’s supposed to call later today.” Phoebe rested her head on Prue shoulder “I hate that she moved and she isn’t here now.” It wasn’t long though when Phoebe started to let out a little laugh.

Prue looked up at Piper confused.

“Phoebs?” Piper sat down beside her sisters and took Phoebes hand in hers.
“I was just remembering his feeble attempt to ask me out as his girlfriend.” Phoebe smiled through the tears.
“Oh I remember that.” Prue laughed ass he looked over at Piper who she could tell also remembered Troy’s attempt to ask Phoebe out.

Prue and Andy walked in to the house where the party was going pretty good. Andy was back in town for Christmas break from the academy and Prue was enjoying what time she could with him. Though when she walked in the house the fist thing she saw was her baby sister making out with some guy on the couch.

“I can’t believe her.”
“Leave her be Prue. You and I did the same thing at her age.” Andy reminded her and they both smiled at the memory.
“True but at least she could introduce they guy she is playing tonsil hockey with to her sisters.”

Andy laughed as he watched Prue make her way across the room. The sound of laughter and pool balls clapping together filling the room. It was these sounds he missed at the academy.

He reached out and grabbed Prue by the hand, “Hey I didn’t come home to see you fight with your sister at a party. Let it go.” He pulled her close, “Just this once.” His lips met hers and he knew he had won. That round anyway.

Later that night Piper was sitting next to Prue, “So you hear the news?”
“Whets that?”
“Phoebe and Troy finally decided to make themselves a couple.”

Prue turned to Piper, “THAT is who I saw her sucking face with earlier?”
“I’d say yeah.” Piper laughed. Phoebe always told Prue last on everything in her life. Though she dint blame her. The oldest was usually pretty hard on the youngest of the family. “You are taking this better then I thought you would.”
“Well it isn’t like I don’t know the guy.”

Phoebe slid on the chair and squished herself between Prue and the arm, “What guy?”
“You and Troy.”
“What me and Troy?”
“Troy and I and I just told Prue you two were together.”
“PIPER!”
“So its true?” Prue smiled at her little sister as she squirmed under her gaze.
“No. Not officially?”
“So you two were lip locked earlier because…..?”

Phoebe fidgeted a bit before just smiling at Prue, “Tasting the merchandise?”
“Phoebe!” both her sisters swatted at her
“Well I don’t know, I mean we’ve been playing this game lately. But he hasn’t officially asked me out.”

Troy stood in front of the three sisters pulling Phoebe up from the chair. “Pool?”
“Sure.” Phoebe smiled at her sisters. “We’ll see where it goes.” She took his hand and followed after him.

They played a few games with Troy winning most and Phoebe winning a few, but the ones that Troy won were close.

Phoebe laughed as she made an easy shot look more difficult then it should be and he missed.

“OK you know you suck at this.” She laughed.

Phoebe looked over and saw her friend Laura laughing as well as her sisters.

Troy looked around not wanting to let his ego get bruised. “Oh you think so. Wanna stake a little something on what you have been avoiding.”

Phoebe suddenly got a bit nervous. What was he up to?

“One game. All or nothing. I win you are officially my girlfriend. You win. Well I’ll just have to keep asking you.” He smiled, as she seemed to think about it.

“You think you can take me in one game?”
“I do.” He held her gaze with confidence.
“Deal.” She held her hand out as he pulled the balls from the pockets and racketed them up.

Laura came up behinds Phoebe, “You sure you know what you are doing?”

Phoebe looked up at Troy, “Exactly what I am doing.”

Phoebe broke and left the next shot to Troy. He sunk his first shot. Looking up at her he gave her his smile. But then he missed the next shot.

Phoebe held the cue and applied the chalk as she stepped top the table. One..two…three.. she looked up, “Sure you want that bet?”
“You’re gonna miss eventually.” He smiled. Knowing the more she took off the table the easier it would be for him.
“Ok.”

Four…five…six.

It wasn’t long before she was looking up into his eyes his defeat showing. “Eight ball corner pocket.”

It went down hard as he stood there. She smiled and went over and gave him a kiss. “I win.”

Phoebe smiled as she recalled what happened later that night. “He wouldn’t let it go.”
“He loved you then. And always had.” Prue smiled. “Still can’t believe he thought he could beat you.”
“Yeah, but I caved later that night. We were out back making out and I told him yes. But it wasn’t long till we realized that we were better off as friends.
“Sometimes that is the best thing.” Prue pulled her arms around Phoebe giving her a hug.

Piper placed three shot glasses on the table. “I believe its tradition.”

Phoeb looked up at her sister and gave her a weak smile. Lifting the B52 in the air. “To Troy.. I will always love you for who you were; your craziness and your cocky smile. But most of all I will always remember, I loved you then and I will always love you. My brother my friend. I missed you.” She chucked back the shot as her voice felt the strain of the tears she was about to shed.

Prue and Piper both tossed their shots back as Prue then tightened her arms around her sister.

“It’s just so hard.” Phoebe cried, as she let the tears she had been holding spill. “It isn’t fair. He was 32 for crying out loud. All the innocents we save every day. Why couldn’t I see that? Why didn’t I get a premonition? I could have stopped him from getting on that stupid plane.”

Prue didn’t say anything she just held her sister as she cried in her arms.

Piper took hold of Phoebes hand and ran her free hand over her back. There wasn’t anything either of them could say, but be there for her as they had the last few years.

Prue placed her hand on the back of Phoebs head and drew her close, “Sweetie. The pain will always be there. But the love you had for him will never go away. You will fight inside of you every year but with each passing year it will get easier. It’s the same I felt with Andy. Sometimes there isn’t anything we can do. But you know that Piper and I are here for you. And we always will be.”

Phoebe sniffed back her tears. “Its just hard right now.”
“I know sweetie. And its good that you still hold him in your heart. It is there he will always be remembered.”

Phoebe stayed in her sisters’ arms as she felt the tears catching up to her and fought to stay awake. But a she soon lost the battle Prue and Piper held a look. Both with tears in their eyes. One person had taken their hearts and now he was gone.

Prue finally broke the silence. “It’s gonna be a long week or two.”
“Yeah but we’ll get her through it….and ourselves.”

Did I choose you?
Did you choose Me?
And what difference does it make?
All that Matters, Friend is that
We choose each together.

To My dear Friend Troy. I will always love you.
