K this is kinda a missing scene.. but it could go anywhere between season 7-8.. enjoy

He sat at his desk looking over the form in his hand. It was something he needed to do after everything in the last five and a half years. Actually he knew it was much longer then that, more like seven. And sometimes he looked back and it felt like seven. But his world changed five and a half years ago.

He stood at the door he had come to know so well, knocking and waiting for one of them to answer it.

“Darryl, hi, thanks for coming.” Prue answered as he let him in
“To tell you the truth, I’m not sure if I actually want to be here. Depends on whether or not you tell me the truth this time.” He argued. He was doing what he recognized as the same dance moves his late partner had done with Prue for a year before he died
“Someone tried to kill us.” Phoebe to in as Darryl and Prue stepped into the dinning room
“Did you see who it was?” he asked going into detective mode

Prue cast a glance over her shoulder towards the kitchen entrance, “She’s in there.”
“She?” Darryl walks over to her.

Piper watched their friend and try’s to come up with a logical answer, “We were just sorta standing here talking when suddenly she started shooting up the place.”
“A hit woman we think.” Phoebe added in
“She obviously wanted us dead, we were on her list.” Prue looked up at him not sure if he was buying the story, yet it was the truth
“And that’s why you’re standing here alive and she’s in here riddled with bullets.” Darryl questioned
“It was self defence. You can check her gun if you don’t believe us. The only finger prints you’re gonna find on it are hers.” Prue said in hers and her sisters defence
“Begs the same question. How come she’s got the bullets in her body if you didn’t fire the gun?” Darryl accused trying to get to the bottom of this.

They didn’t have a choice. She knew they had to come clean, “ Do you really wanna know, Darryl?” Phoebe asked

He looked at her then her sisters for a brief moment, “Tell me.”
“We’re witches. We have powers.” There she said it. The secret was out.
“And we think that there’s a … how do I put this? A demon behind this.” Piper put in knowing her sister was doing the only thing they could. Tell him everything.
“The only way for us to find out who it is, is if you can keep all of this quiet for as long as possible.” She hated to pout another friend in the middle to get them involved but to keep the secret and her sisters safe she had no choice

Darryl wasn’t sure what to think, but on some level he believed them. “Darryl: Let me see the book.”

“There are nine names that are crossed out. Besides us there is only one name that’s not crossed out.” Phoebe explained still trying to get a read on her friend’s face.
“Plastic, 10 a.m." Plastic explosives. For all we know she’s probably got some place already rigged to blow.” Darryl surmised
“Maybe it’s some place M. Steadwell is supposed to be at ten.” Prue said

looking at Pipers watch, “Okay, it’s after nine already.” Phoebe told them

Darryl didn’t miss a beat “I’ll check the ------, see if I can get an address.”
“I‘m gonna go with you.” Phoeb followed after him
“Prue and I can go to her apartment and see if we can find anything there.” Piper said
“After we make a quick stop at Buckland’s.”
“Are you kidding?” Piper looks at her sister.
“Can’t lose my job.” Prue explains
“What do we do with the …” Phoebe glances quickly towards the dead body.

Darryl follows her gaze, “I can call in a favour and put the body on ice but it’s not gonna buy you much time. One day max.”

That was the first time he helped them. Helped them cover up their secret. Over the years he had lost count of the times he had helped cover for them. To the point he nearly lost his family his job, his life.

“Darryl.”

Darryl Morris looked up from his desk to meet the look on his wife’s face.

“I’ll be right there honey.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Yes. There are to many memories here for me. And this is a great opportunity for me. I’ll be Captain by the end of the year.”

She wrapped her arms around him, “you’ll miss the service.”

He took in a deep breath, he hadn’t told her the truth. Maybe one day he would but not now. “I know. I think this is better.” He placed a kiss on her forehead, “I’ll be right back.”

He made his way through the station and towards his own Captains office. “Captain.”
“Morris. You decide yet?”

Handing his boss the papers he had been looking at earlier, “Signed and delivered Cap’n.”
“You sure this is what you want?”
“Yeah. I have to many memories here. To many friends left behind.”
“Ok then. I’ll get these faxed over and let the NYPD know you are on the way.”

He walked from the office and felt Sheila wrap her arm around his waist. He didn’t say anything as he turned one last tie to the station he had known so well. A few officers that knew he was leaving gave him a salute or pleasant wave goodbye. That was all he wanted. As she turned and walked out the door.

He stood along the shore tossing rocks out into the ocean. He remembered teaching his son how to skip rocks on the water in that very place. He recalled Andy and him standing there when Andy broke up with Prue. He was there to comfort his friend. He stood on that same spot on his own after he had left the Manor when Prue died. Now here he was standing there again saying good bye.

“Darryl.”

He turned to the three figures walking towards him. He knew who they were but wasn’t sure.

“It’s us Darryl.” One looked around to make sure no one else was there, and with the snap of their fingers he was standing before them. Piper, Phoebe and Paige.

“You guys scared the crap out of me.”
“We’re sorry Darryl but we had to make it look like we were killed in the Manor. It was the only way to get the FBI and the Demon off our trail.” Phoebe said.
“And now we can go on living normal lives.” Piper put in the one thing she wanted more then anything.
“For how long? How long before you realize you can’t hide from them? Before you see that the world needs you?” he asked hoping they would stay hidden stay safe.

Phoebe looked at her sisters wanting to give him the answer he wanted. But Paige beat her to it, “We’re done Darryl. No more demons. Let the other witches deal with them from now on. Even the Elders think we’re dead.”

He looked out to the waters as the sun started to dip into it. “I’ve applied for a transfer. I’m leaving for New York in the morning.” He turned and faced each one. “I’m sorry I have to for my family.”

Piper stepped up and embraced him, “It’s ok Darryl thank you for everything over all these years.” She pulled back and gave him a kiss on the cheek as she then brushed at the tear running down her face.

Paige followed her sisters’ gesture giving her friend s warm hug, “You take care of your self Darryl.”
“You too Paige.” He embraced the youngest sister before she stepped back and Phoebe stepped up to him.

“We’ll miss you. And not just for the all the help you gave us. You were always welcome at the Manor. And always will be.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a gentle kiss on the side of his cheek. “Be safe Darryl.” She stepped away from him and wiped her own tears away.

“You three be careful. And one day I know we will see each other again.” He turned and made his way off the beach to his car. Leaving behind the one family he could never tell anyone about.

They stood and watched him leave each one in memories of times they had shared with him.

“I’ll miss him.”
“Me too.”
“I third that, “Paige added in as the three sister stood with arms around each others waist. Watching the only person outside the immediate family that knew they were still alive. Taking with him their secret.
