Heading down the small street on her bike Phoebe pedaled her way around the next corner to reach the small drug store near the manor, Piper had asked her to get something’s for their trip. Locking her bike Phoebe dug the list out of her backpack on the way in. The Clerk smiled big seeing the teen come in
“Hey Phoebe… How are you?”
“Hi Sam I’m fine. How are you?”
“I’m good Hon how are your sisters?”
“We’re great we’re going on a camping trip this weekend!”
“Sounds like fun what can I do for you?”
“Piper asked me to pick up some things we will need.”
Phoebe handed Sam her list and as he went off to fill it Phoebe eyes the soda cooler, Prue’s voice echoing in her head
‘Phoebe you drink too much of that stuff!’
“No I don’t!” Phoebe thought as she grabbed a 20 ounce soda.
At the Manor
“Piper I can’t find the big tent do you know where it is?” Prue’s voice echoed
“Prue we’re using dad’s cabin why do we need a tent?” Piper yelled back
“Just in case Piper.” Prue replied from right behind Piper making her jump.
“Prue don’t do that!”
“I’m sorry sis.”
Prue couldn’t help but giggle a bit as Piper still had her hand over her heart.
Piper was about to suggest checking the attic for the tent when Phoebe came in the door leaving it open, talking a mile a minute She dropped the supplies into Prue’s arms as she passed on the way to the kitchen.
“What the heck was that?” Piper asked her stunned older sister
“It looked like Phoebe but sounded like Speedy Gonzalez
Following their younger sister into the kitchen Prue moved to stop her on the way to the fridge..
“No more soda Pheebs Sounds like you’ve had too much already.”
“Prueee that’s not fair I haven’t had too much only three on the way home then one at the drug store after I said hi to Sam. He’s fine and getting a new fishing pole today and his wife is baking a cake tomorrow…. And and and…”
Phoebe was talking so fast she started to hyperventilate Prue quickly moved to her side.
“Sweetie shhhh slow down your talking too fast. Piper grab a paper bag.”
Piper brought Prue the bag and Prue held it over Phoebe’s mouth.
“Breathe in and out Pheebs slowly slowly…… “
Phoebe’s breathing started to slow down just as……
“PRUE!!!!!!!!!!” Paige’s voice called from upstairs
Prue handed Pheebs to Piper running her hand through Phoebe’s hair.
”I’ll go see what’s up No more soda Phoebe understand Honey?”
Still breathing in the bag Phoebe nodded getting a small smile from her older sis. Prue left to see what Paige wanted and Phoebe dropped the bag grabbing a hold of Pipers neck. Piper realized her little sis was shaking.
“Hey sweet girl that was scary wasn’t it?” Piper held her tight.
Moving to a chair at the table Piper pulled Phoebe onto her lap putting her baby sis’s head on her shoulder Piper gently rubbed Phoebe’s back.
“It’s ok Pheebs your ok.” Piper gently cooed in Phoebe’s ear.
When Piper felt Phoebe relax she felt she could press her little sis a bit. Getting Phoebe to sit up Piper looked her in the eye.
“Ok Pheebs talk to me. What happened? We told you to cut back on the caffeine. Now you’ve scared your self pretty good. What’s up?”
“I don’t know.”
Phoebe looked away but Piper pulled her sisters chin back to look her in the eye.
“Yes you do Phoebe.”
“But Piper you’ll think.. I mean you..”
“What Honey?”
“Well Prue hasn’t read to me at bedtime the last few nights and you haven’t kissed me awake lately.”
Phoebe started playing with her hair she always did when she felt nervous.
“I’m sorry Piper I just felt a little uhhhh well a little…..
“Ignored?” Piper inserted
“Yeah a little I guess.”
Piper pulled Phoebe close to her hugging tight as she could.
“I’m sorry too Phoebe I promise you won’t ever feel that way again I love you so much little sis. You’re my baby and that won’t change.”
“I love you too Piper.” Phoebe snuggled into Pipers shoulder.
Piper held her little sis for a while running her hand through Phoebe’s hair, it always calmed her baby sis.
“Phoebe why don’t you lay down for a bit. Prue will be up to see you in a little while.”
“Ok Piper.”
Phoebe headed up to her room while Piper chastised herself for letting Phoebe slip a bit through the cracks of their lives; she needed to talk to Prue.
Meanwhile upstairs Prue was trying her best to calm a near hysterical Paige
“But…..But….But Prue look at it…. !”
“Paige calm down honey its not ruined Piper knows how to get stains out we can fix it!”
“She…She…She can? ***SNIF***!”
“You bet Piper’s great at it.”
“Oh…k..ok.”
Prue took her little sis into her arms hugging her close. Over the last few weeks they learned Paige was a sensitive little thing, she was more like Piper in temperament. Releasing Paige to finish getting dressed Prue met Piper in the hallway.
“Prue we need to talk about a little something.”
Taking Prue’s arm Piper dragged her into Pipers room; setting on the Bed Piper told her what Phoebe said in the kitchen. Prue seemed to sink into the bed as Piper watched her drop her head in her hands.
“I’m a bad older sis! How could I let this happen?”
“Prue this is a new situation for all of us we’re only human we didn’t plan this.”
“Doesn’t make it better Piper.”
“Prue she’s waiting to talk to you go see her.”
Getting up Prue walked over to Phoebe’s door, knocking gently she heard Phoebe quietly say
“Come in.”
“Hey Baby girl.”
“Hi Prue”
Sitting on the edge of the bed Prue was about to say something when Phoebe crawled into her lap, snuggling into Prue’s shoulder Phoebe held on as if Prue was about to vanish.
“I’m sorry Pheebs I’ve been stupid I promise you won’t ever feel that way again.”
“Special Promise?” Phoebe asked
With a warm smile Prue kissed the tip of Phoebe’s nose and both her cheeks.
“Special Promise Sweet girl” Prue hugged her little sis tight.
Prue held Phoebe for a long while, then giving her little sis a wink Prue stood and tossed her Pheebs over her shoulder like a sack of flower, Phoebe giggling the whole time.
“Common Pheebs lets go buy a new tent.”
Carrying her delightful burden down the stairs Prue yelled to Piper they’d be back. Piper smiled watching the two of them leave.
“Piperrrrrrrrrr My top!!!! Common common lets go.”
“Ok ok Paige I’m coming I’m coming. It’s just a top sweetie.”
“No it isn’t just a top it’s my favorite top Prue said you could clean it.”
“Prue did huh? Well we’ll give it a shot but don’t be so pushy.”
“Don’t get mad Piper you told me I’m too cute to get mad at.”
Paige gave her older sis her cutest expression with the big innocent brown eyes. Piper had to smile to herself she did say that, tickling Paige’s ribs till she couldn’t stand it Piper replied.
“Yeah Missy Page you are too cute.”
After getting a huge smile from her little sis Piper treated the stain and started the washer.
Meanwhile at the sporting goods store Prue was chasing after her excited little sis who was running about like a chicken with its head cut off.
“Phoebe honey slow down.. Please?”
“But Prue there’s so much to look at!”
Getting her chance Prue grabbed Phoebe giving her a few good noogies
“Phoebe did you just call me Butt Prue?”
“Did not!!!!!”
Just to cinch her case Phoebe gave Prue her ‘melt the older sis heart’ look and it worked Prue quickly melted
“Awww you’re sooo cute come here.”
After a tight Prue hug
“Grab the stuff and lets go.”
Soon the pair was on the way home with a new tent and new camping outfits for all 4 girls. Pulling up they left the stuff in the car and ran in to collect their sisters. Paige met them in the hall.
“Prue look Piper cleaned it She really cleaned it!”
“That’s great sweetie. Are you two ready to go?”
“You bet we are all ready!” Piper added walking into the hall.
Soon all 4 girls were on the interstate heading to dad’s cabin in southern Oregon. An hour and a half later an irritated Prue is standing by her driver’s door in a shell parking lot. Downing a swig from her water bottle she whispered
“I told them to go before we left!!!”
Before Prue could cap her water Phoebe ran up
“Prue I need two dollars. I wanna get a 7up.”
“Ok Pheebs.”
Prue handed her the money and watched Phoebe run back Prue wished she could still move that fast. Capping her water Prue looked into the back of the jeep to check on Paige.
“She still asleep?” Piper asked from behind Prue
Looking at Paige curled into a tight ball Prue smiled.
“Yeah she is.”
“Hey here comes Phoebe” Piper looked over her shoulder
“Good maybe now we can get going.” Prue replied
Jumping in the back seat Phoebe dug into her bag of chips Prue grabbing a handful herself put the car in gear and speeded up the Interstate onramp.
Sometime later…….
“Paige go ahead ask her.” Phoebe whispered in her little sis’s ear
“She’ll yell!” Paige whispered back
“Yeah but its fun.”
“Ok Ok!”
“Prue?” Paige leaned forward a bit
“What sweetie?” Prue replied
“Are we there yet?”
“Not yet Paige we will soon.”
A little while later
“Prue?”
What Paige?”
“Are we there yet?”
“Not Yet Paige.” Prue gripped the steering wheel a little tighter
A moment after
“Prue?”
“Yes Paige?”
“Are we there yet?”
“NO WE ARE NOT THERE YET? DON’T MAKE ME COME BACK THERE?” Prue was fuming a bit now
Prue didn’t notice the giggling in the back seat but Piper saw in the mirror. She smiled a bit and turned to Prue.
“Prue?”
“Yes Piper?”
“Are we there yet?”
“ARRRRGHHHHHH!”
Piper had to move aside a bit to escape Prue’s swing. Pulling the car over Prue started to loose it till she noticed all three laughing at her.
“You guys are pulling my chain aren’t you?”
Launching herself at Piper Prue tickled her ribs till the middle sis couldn’t breathe later after some more sibling wrestling and 5 games of Spot the License plate the girls pulled up to Dads Cabin. Leading the way Prue unlocked walking inside she had forgotten how big the place was.
“Wow Dad?” She whispered
Piper followed the two younger P’s inside she was about to say something but noticed Paige yawn and lay her head on Phoebe’s shoulder.
“Guys it’s almost 11pm I suggest we all go to bed and get a fresh start.”
“Piper’s right lets get to bed. Phoebe take Paige to the bedroom on the left and Piper and I will take the right.”
“Ok Prue.” Phoebe led her sleepy sis away.
Giving a big yawn and stretch Prue followed Piper into the other bedroom through another yawn she asked:
“Piper…YAWN.. You want the left side or right?”
“I’ll take Left Prue.”
“Ok sounds good to me.” Prue went off to Brush her teeth.
Settling into the big feather bed Prue bid Piper good night and just as she was about the doze off
“Prue?”
“What Piper?”
“I guess we’re there huh?”
“PIPER!!!!!!!!”
“Phoebe are you asleep?”
“Yes Paige.”
“Then how are you answering me?”
“I don’t know Paige.”
“Phoebeeeeeeeeeeee…… Please!!!”
“Ok Paige ok what?”
“I need help with…..uh…with uh.”
“With what Paige?”
Phoebe’s eyes widened looking at her sister
“Paige Honey what is it you’re shaking.”
Ph..Phoebe I don’t want to have the dream again!”
Sitting up with Paige Phoebe took her little sis’s hands in hers.
“What dream Paige?”
“Wh…Where I see…see my parents die again!”
“Wait Paige… you were there you saw it?”
“Uh huh!”
Phoebe watched a single tear flow down her baby sis’s cheek softly she pulled her into her arms at first she didn’t know what to do but then Phoebe remembered What Piper told her once.
“Page when ever you have a nightmare in the dream close your eyes and call the one person that makes you feel safe call and they will be there to hold you.”
“Does **SNIF** that really work?”
“It sure does Paige every time now lets get to sleep.”
“Phoebe?”
“Yes Paige?”
“Can you teach me to swim?”
“Sure can now Good night.”
“Good night Phoebe.”
Later that night a smile spreads across Paige’s sleeping features as in her dream Prue chased the nightmare away holding her close and safe.
Next morning Piper was the first to open her eyes smiling she looked over to Prue and found herself looking at Two feet on the pillow. Scratching her head Piper
“Prue where?”
Moving the covers Piper found her sisters head at the other end under the blanket. Giggling a bit she gently let the cover back down. Getting to her feet Piper donned her robe and headed to the kitchen, going through the food in the fridge Piper turned her nose up at the large hunk of salt pork it was always too salty for her but she knew Prue would want it. Finding some regular bacon and some eggs Piper started cooking.
“Mmmmmmm…..Food” Prue’s blue eyes slowly opened.
Piper had to stifle a laugh when she saw her older sis Prue’s hair reminded her of a bird’s nest parts sticking straight up and that old ratty bathrobe she refused to give up though she had to admit to herself even then and no makeup Prue was still beautiful ‘damn her’ Piper thought to herself.
“God Prue why don’t you toss that old robe?”
“What…YAWN… Piper it’s so comfortable.” Prue gave her head a scratch as she yawned again.
“But Prue it looks like something a bag lady would wear!”
“Piper it does not…Is there any salt pork?”
“Yes Prue there is all for you and will you go brush your breath is like an old shoe!”
Sticking her tongue out Prue turned with a flourish and did her best supermodel walk to the bathroom. While this was happening the younger P’s made their morning appearance Paige taking her seat with a smile looking fresh while Phoebe sitting with her head down on the table half awake.
“Morning you two!”
“Good morning Piper.” Paige smiled
“M….Morn…Morning..zzzzzzzzz!” Phoebe was not a morning person
Smiling Piper gave Phoebe a little shake
“Paige go check your blood and Phoebe honey wake up!”
“No Phoebe sleep now.. ZZZZZZZZ.”
Smiling Piper waved a plate under Phoebe’s nose.
“But Phoebe I have potatoes…!”
“Ooooo potatoes… GIMME GIMME!” Phoebe’s head shot up
Loading her plate Piper was about to yell at the others when they came running to the table.
“Potatoes!!!!!!” Paige yelled hitting her chair
“Whoa Piper you didn’t tell me that!” Prue eagerly handed her plate to the middle sis.
Loading them all up Piper giggled a bit as she joined her sisters her own plate full. During breakfast the younger ones made plans for swimming and Paige couldn’t wait to try her had at painting the view from the cabin. Prue wanted to find a place for her lawn chair and a good book, Piper wasn’t too sure what to do.
“Prue you’re just going to read?”
“Yes Piper we are here to relax aren’t we?”
“Well yeah but…”
“But nothing Pipe I plan to take root.”
“Ok Prue…Wa… What are you two giggling about?”
“Nothing Piper nothing.” Phoebe put on her best Poker face.
“Yeah Nothing Sis.” Paige added
Breakfast over Phoebe dragged Paige by her hand off to change into their suits while Prue after changing into her Bikini made her way out front with her lawn chair and favorite trashy novel.
‘Stay in site of the cabin you two I mean it!”
Prue yelled after the younger P’s as they ran by her. Joining Prue in her own chair Piper went over a new recipe for banana muffins, she couldn’t decide weather to add Rum or not.
“We’ll be careful Prue don’t worry.” Phoebe yelled back.
Getting to the streams edge Phoebe took Paige’s hands slowly leading her into the water
“Ooooo Phoebe its C…C….Cold.”
“You’ll get used to it quick Paige just go slowly.”
Paige let Phoebe lead her out into the water till it was too deep to stand up, she felt a little scared but Phoebe had a hold of her.
“Slowly move your legs back and forth Paige that will keep you up.”
Paige began to kick a little and found she could stay up easily, flashing Phoebe a happy grin Paige felt surer of herself.
“See Paige it’s easy.”
“Yeah what’s next?”
“Watch me.”
Phoebe next demonstrated how to float on her back Paige took to that easily as they two of them floated Paige asked:
“Phoebe are you sure we should do this? Prue has a temper you know.”
“It’ll be ok Paige besides we can hide behind Piper.”
“Oh yeah I forgot that.”
Meanwhile back at the cabin.
“Prue would you add Rum to muffins?”
“Rum? You bet Pipe.”
“How Much?”
“Oh about a cup full each muffin.”
“PRUE???!!....My older sis is a lush!”
Settling back down with her pen and paper Piper thought she caught movement on her left side her sister sense started tingling and just in time she dived for the ground as two little sisters came out of the bushes with battery operated water rifles. Both nailed Prue dead center with ice water.
“EEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK……AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!”
“Cough…..Cough…Sputter… Why you little buggers I’ll get you!!”
On her feet in seconds Prue takes off after her two screaming sisters as Piper rolls on the ground laughing her self silly. The younger P’s elude there older sis running back to hide behind Piper.
“Oh no don’t get behind me this was your prank.”
Before the teens can reply Prue is standing there looking like a drowned cat Paige looking at her wide eyed breaks.
“It…it was Phoebe’s idea!”
“No no it was Piper’s.” Phoebe replies shaking a bit..
‘What?? Don’t drag me into this..”
Just at the point they all think their doomed they see Prue crack the biggest smile
“HAHAHAHAHA!”
“Gang tickle Gang tickle!” Prue yells and jumps on her sisters Soon Piper and Prue have the teens laughing so hard they can’t breathe. Tickle over they collapse on the grass trying to catch their breath.
“I have to admit you guys got me good.” Prue felt more relaxed then she had for weeks. Rolling over Prue started blowing raspberry’s on Phoebe’s tummy.
“heeheeheeheeheehee..P…Prue stop stop stop!”
Soon as Phoebe was lost in giggle land Prue did the same to Paige
N….No…. Stop stop heeheeheeheehee….Uncle Uncle1”
Raising up Prue looked toward Piper with a mischievous grin..
“Oh no Prue no Don’t you dare I’m not a kid…No no noooooo…HeeHeeHeeeeeee…. Prue stop stop…. !”
Pushing Prue off Piper tried to be serious but couldn’t help falling into the giggles herself. Giggle time over Piper went inside to start the special dessert she had planned for that night Paige brought Prue a towel and while she dried off her and the two teens talked about things.
“So Paige did Phoebe teach you all she knows about swimming?”
“Yeah Prue she did Pheebs makes it look and sound so easy.”
“Aww Paige I do not.”
“Yes you do don’t be modest you’re good sis.”
“Thanks Paige.” Phoebe smiled
“Don’t let her fool you Paige she swims better then most fish.”
The three girls decided to change out of their swim things and perhaps do some fishing, getting to their feet they start inside but after a few steps Paige falters
“Paige? You ok Hon?” Prue saw she was flushed and shaking
“I don’t know Prue I mean I.”
Before she could answer further Prue had to catch her before she hit the ground. Phoebe started to panic a bit but Prue realized what was happening.
“Phoebe I’ve got her run inside and get the chocolate we brought with us.”
“Prue…what’s wrong?”
“It’s her blood sugar sweetie its too low now do as I said Pheebs Paige will be ok don’t worry.”
Gently Prue picked up her little sis and carried her to the couch in the cabin just as quickly Phoebe came in with the bars Piper right behind her.
“Low sugar Prue?” Piper asked
“Looks that way Piper.”
“Here you are Paige.. Breath deep and take it slow honey.”
Prue sat on Paige’s left with Piper on the other side Phoebe kneeling in front of her. She was a little scared but knew she wasn’t alone. After a short while Paige felt a little better.
“Feeling better Paige?” Prue ran her hand through Paige’s hair
“Yeah Prue I am.”
“Ok why don’t you stretch our here and rest a bit?” Piper smiled
“Ok Phoebe would you lay with me?”
“Sure Paige.”
Getting comfortable Paige snuggled into Phoebes shoulder giving a contented sigh she closed her eyes remembering the last time.
“Last time this happened I was alone.”
“Its ok sis you’re not alone anymore.”
“I know.”
Paige snuggled closer feeling safe.
By the kitchen a whispered voice
“Prue what are you doing?”
“Piper I can’t help it they look so cute like that.”
Quickly Prue clicked off 10 or so Pictures before Piper pulled her and her digital camera into the kitchen. A couple of hours later in a dingy in the middle of the lake
“Ok Paige swing the rod back a little and then bring forward flipping your wrist.”
“Ok Prue.”
Following Prue’s instruction Paige make a nearly perfect cast getting a small round of applause from her sisters, sitting down Paige kept a close eye on her line.
“Good one Paige sure you’ve never done this before?” Piper handed Paige a sandwich.
“Thanks Piper this is my first time fishing.”
Phoebe and Prue eagerly grabbed a sandwich each and got back to watching their poles. They both wanted trout for dinner big-time. Paige bit her sandwich again wondering how Piper made P&J so much better then anybody else.
“Piper how do you make these taste better then anybody else?”
“I’ll never tell Paige.” Piper flashed a toothy grin.
Phoebe giggled a little as she bit her Peanut butter and Banana sandwich, and letting her line out a bit more. Prue leaning back listened to her sisters talking she felt so relaxed it amazed her.
“PRUE YOU GOT A BITE!” Phoebe jumped up
Grabbing her line Prue expertly reeled in the fish on her line grabbing the fish Pipe removed the hook and dropped it into the cooler.
“Great one Prue that was a 4 pound one.” Piper sat back down
“Good eating guys.” Prue sat back down herself
A little later after both Paige and Phoebe had caught fish too Paige baited her hook and sat looking at Prue.
“What is it Honey?” Prue asked
“Could you tell me about Mom Prue?”
“Sure Paige… Mom was the type of person that would carry a Spider outside the house instead of killing it. She fed all stray animals and no matter how many friends came over she always made lunch for all with a smile. She was strong and could be forceful when she had to be. Just ask Piper about the time she snuck out to a party.”
“Prue!!! We don’t need to go into that.” Piper turned a little red
The younger P’s broke into giggles looking at the reddening middle sis. Catching her breath Phoebe continued for Prue.
“Paige She was so beautiful and she was always there with a cuddle or to hold you when ever you wanted.”
“Just like you guys.” Paige added with a smile
“Well Prue and Piper are better at it then I am.” Phoebe suddenly got a little shy.
Piper continued for her two sisters
“Paige I remember when she was teaching me to cook she was so patient she let me do things try things then helped me with what went wrong and show me the right way. She was so pretty and her smile could fix any hurt.”
Page smiled absorbing all the info she could till her line jumped and she franticly reached to pull in the prize. Dropping the fish into the cooler Piper counted 6 altogether.
“Guys we have enough for dinner and it will be dark soon.”
“Piper’s right it’s close to dinner time Phoebe help me row back to the dock”
‘Sure thing Prue.”
Getting to the dock Prue and Piper tie the boat up while Phoebe and Paige grab the gear and the catch.
“Prue can we eat around the fire pit in front? We can make Smores and tell stories.”
“Sure Pheebs that sounds like a great idea to me what do you say Paige Piper?”
“Yeah anything chocolate sounds great to me.” Paige loved chocolate
“Well guys it just so happens I brought all the stuff to make lots of smores!”
-->“YAY!”
“YAY!”
“YAY!”
Piper found her self engulfed in a big sisterly group hug.
“Guys I can’t breathe!!”
Letting go of the middle sis Prue and Phoebe go to start the Fire in the Pit while Paige helps Piper clean the fish, with everything ready the sisters get comfortable by the fire. Setting her pans up Piper started preparing the fish, while the younger P’s cuddled up on either side of Prue.
“Paige you’re going to love this I don’t know what Piper does to them before cooking but its great stuff.”
Piper smiled at Prue’s compliment she loved cooking for her sisters.
“I can’t wait Prue Piper hurry please!” Paige squirmed a bit in her seat.
“Easy Paige easy it won’t be long.” Piper giggled a bit
Besides Paige you don’t want to miss the story?” Phoebe crossed her legs after speaking.
“What story?”
“Tell her Prue.”
“Ok Paige It’s a long story and a little strange.”
Taking a deep breath Prue began:
“A few years ago not too far from here a guy called Charlie lived with his wife Ann they had been married for many years and unknown to the Man he wife had grown to hate him a hate so strong she nightly wished for his death.”
“He didn’t know?” Paige asked
“No Paige he didn’t he still loved her more then anything. One day when she finally had it she waited for him to come home and hid behind the door with a bat in her hands ready to strike.”
“Then?” Phoebe asked
“Yeah then?” Paige asked Clutching Prue’s arm tighter
“SHE HIT HIM!!!!” Prue yelled causing both younger sisters to scream
“Again and again she smashed the bat into his skull! The suddenly she stopped!”
“WHAT THEN?” Paige’s eyes seemed big as dinner plates to Prue
Prue continued
“She stopped and looked at her result he laid there not moving Blood everywhere dropping the bat she sat catching her breath. Slowly a short moment later the front door of their cabin opened and out came Ann. Dragging Charlie’s body behind her using all her strength she dragged the body to an old mine shaft and dropped him in. ‘They’ll never find you there!’ She cackled loudly!”
Paige held on to Prue’s arm tight as she could her eyes wide darting around seeming to scan for Ann or Charlie. Piper was getting a little concerned she started to say something but Prue continued.
“Back at their cabin Ann poured herself a talk scotch and drank happily ‘So long Charlie!’ she yelled to the front door and downed another shot. Feeling tired Ann put the cork back in the bottle and laid down on the couch. Starting to doze off she suddenly heard!”
“What?” Paige asked shaking a bit
“Heard What?” Phoebe added grabbing Prue’s other arm
“A STEP!” Prue smiled evilly
“Yes a step then another ‘nonsense she thought to herself’ but more steps getting up fear grabbed her heart like a vice as more steps then the steps came up behind her and then and then a hand landed on her shoulder trembling Ann slowly turned to see who it was… Fear gripped her face as she saw……..!!!!!!!!”
“SAW WHAT SAW WHAT?” Phoebe asked
“WHAT?” Paige looked ready to run
“It was…….It was………CHARLIE!!!!!!”
As she said the name Prue touched her little sisters shoulders from behind both screamed running to hide behind Piper. Looking at three pairs of Brown eyes wide as they could get looking back at her Prue couldn’t help but laugh.
“Prue you scared the crap out of me!” Phoebe tossed her baseball cap at her older sis
“Yeah me too!” Paige pretended to but hurt putting her best pout and puppy dog eyes on.
“Oh you guys Ok I’m sorry come here.”
Prue opened her arms wide and both little sisters ran into the big bear hug. Both held on to Prue tight.
“I love you guys to the moon and back.”
“We love you too Prue.” Both said in prefect chorus.
“Hey what about me???” Piper gave her best hurt look
“Get over here Middle sis!” Prue yelled
Nearly jumping in the middle Piper made it a huge group hug. Soon all four girls were stuffed full of the best fish dinner and were now making smores over the fire. Taking hers in both hands Paige took a huge bite nearly swooning she so loved chocolate giggling a little at Paige Phoebe and Piper bit their own treats Piper getting chocolate on her nose. Prue handed her a napkin.
“Classic Piper has to wear part of it.” Prue laughed
“Oh you.” Piper tossed the napkin back at Prue.
Short while later the younger ones were asleep while Prue and Piper talked around the fire.
“Piper I can’t believe how relaxed this time has been I love it here.”
“Me too Prue this is so unwinding I could stay here forever.”
Reaching down next to her Piper retrieved a small bottle.
“Care to spice up that coffee Prue?” Piper handed the bottle to Prue
“Whisky? Piper?”
“Yeah common Prue loosen up some more.”
“You’re right Pipe.”
Pouring some in her mug Prue handed the bottle back to Piper who did the same. Taking a swig Prue smiled.
“Just what was needed sis!”
After another swig Prue looked down at the younger ones setting her cup down she stood up.
“We’d better get these two in bed Piper.”
“Ok I’ll get Paige.”
Piper gently lifted Paige and started toward the cabin reaching down Prue picked Phoebe up, she smiled as Phoebe’s arms went around her neck.
“Mmmmm…..Love you…” Phoebe said sleepily
“Love you too sweet girl.”
In the bedroom Piper was having a bit of trouble putting her bundle down she didn’t want to, Piper wanted to cuddle her little sis a bit.
“Aww little her is all tired out.” Piper sat on the side of the bed.
“Yeah her is.” Paige replied in her baby voice
“Do her want to sleep or cuddle?”
“Cuddle.”
Settling back Piper situated herself amongst the sea of pillows pulling the blanket over the two of them. Shifting a bit Paige laid her head on Pipers chest she wanted to hear her older sisters heart finding it she sighed contentedly snuggling in.
“I’m so happy you found us Paige.” Piper ran her hand through her little sis’s hair.
Standing at the door Prue beamed at the scene before her.
“Got room for two more?” Prue smiled
“Always Prue always.” Piper replied
Settling into the Pillow Sea Prue adjusted her delightful burden and herself under the blanket, Phoebe snuggling into Prue’s shoulder pushed her face into Prue’s hair with a happy sigh.
“Night Night Honey.” Prue kissed Phoebe’s forehead.
Next morning the sun shining on the cabin door reveals two smaller figures trying to be as quiet as they can.
“Paige Shhhhhh……You’ll wake then up.”
“Phoebe I am… I still don’t think this is a good idea.”
“Oh Paige lighten up common lets go.”
Throwing their backpacks on the teens head off into the woods around the cabin Paige still unsure they should do this. But she didn’t want Phoebe to be mad at her. The younger ones had been gone for about an hour when Prue stirred. Getting her robe she made her way to the kitchen
“Coffee Coffee Prue need Coffee.” Prue said entering the room
Smiling Piper poured Prue’s mug full and handed her a coffee cake.
“Oooo pecan coffee cake thanks Pipe.”
Downing her coffee Prue quickly scored another cup full while Piper nibbled at her cake.
“Prue do we really have to go back tomorrow?
“Sigh….Yeah Piper I’m afraid so.”
Bottom of FormGiving a heavy sigh herself Piper sat down to finish her cake and read her novel around 15 minutes or 10 pages later Piper suddenly looked up.
“Prue something’s not right!”
“What Pipe?”
“Prue I baked this cake myself why do I not have two teens climbing all over the table to get some?”
Prue’s eyes widened to their max.
“OMG Piper!”
Jumping to her feet the sisters run to the bedrooms and find both empty.
“Prue what the hell is going on where are they?!”
Out in the bush away from the cabin:
“Phoebe we shouldn’t do this lets go back please.”
“Paige common it will be ok don’t be a wuss.”
Leading the way Phoebe moved into the small cave eagerly searching for something exciting Paige coming along slowly behind.
“Phoebeeeee.”
“Paige Shhhhh…”
A little further into the cave the girls come on a cute site. Two little forms on the floor
“Paige look Cubs!!!!”
Overcome with cuteness Phoebe bends down and grabs up one of the small things. Which started making noise… LOUD NOISE Paige started getting worried.
“Phoebe I think you should put it down!”
“Why Paige?”
A loud roar startled the younger P’s
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!”
“SHIT PHOEBE THAT’S WHY!!”
Paige barely managed to grab Phoebe pulling her away from the small cub and the Mother bear looking at the intruders in her cave.
“CRAP PAIGE LETS GO!”
The two girls run out of the cave panic driving their feet both not seeing the edge of the cliff, before either could gain their senses both tumbled off the edge landing at the bottom of the small hill neither moving.
Back at the cabin
“Prue did you call the ranger station?”
“Yes Piper I did they will be here soon.”
Getting up Piper grabbed for her coat. Prue jumped up to stop her.
“Piper they said it we should wait till they get here so they don’t have four lost people.”
“Prue I can’t just wait here.. What if they’re hurt they need us Prue.”
“Piper they’ll be ok trust me we can best help them by helping the rangers.”
Turning around Piper fell into Prue’s embrace hiding from her fears in her sister’s arms.
“Tell me they’ll be ok Prue Please tell me they’ll be ok.”
“They’ll both be fine Piper I know it.”
Back at the base of the hill Paige started to come around opening her eyes she felt Pain shoot through her head. Putting her hand to her temple Paige found blood.
“Ohhh God… Owwww!”
Getting to her feet Paige found it wasn’t that bad but she froze when she saw Phoebe.
“Phoebe!!!!!!!!!.”
Dropping to her knees Paige started trying to wake her sister. But Phoebe wouldn’t respond.
“Oh god what do I do what do I do….. Wait this is no time to loose it Paige what did Prue tell you before leaving for the cabin?”
Paige remembered that Prue told her about keeping ones head when there’s trouble Panic kills. Looking her sister over Paige found a bruise on the side of her head and one leg looked weird maybe broken. Paige remembered next about Shock quickly she grabbed a blanket from her backpack and covered Phoebe. Making sure her sis was snug Paige built a fire pit and using her matches started a fire to keep Phoebe warm. Running her hand over Phoebe’s forehead Paige said
“Phoebe I have to get help I don’t want to leave you here but I have no choice.”
Getting to her feet Paige started back the way they came she felt a little lightheaded but waved it off she had to get help.
Back at the Cabin..
“Why are you standing here asking us stupid questions?!” Prue glared
“You need to stop talking and find our babies!” Piper was in no mood to mince words
The ranger started to reply but the ladies looked like they’d clock him one if he did. Giving a polite nod and a smile he assured them he would do all he could.
Back to Paige…..
Along her way back Paige’s left wrist started to really hurt and turn purple holding it her middle she gritted her teeth and kept going she had to. While the youngest was struggling Phoebe started to come too a little.
“Ooo what happened where am I?”
“Don’t try to move Honey stay still.” A voice told her
“Mom?”
“Yes baby I’m here.”
“I hurt!”
“I know Honey Paige has gone to get your sisters stay still and don’t talk.”
“Prue said you were still wi…with us……….” Phoebe drifted back out.
“She was right Phoebe I’m always with you.”
Following the trail back Paige stumbled and just managed to catch herself before falling pain shot through her broken wrist.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh….Prue!!!!!!!!!” she cried
Back at the cabin Prue was sitting on the roof of a squad car arms crossed over her chest when she seemed to hear something. Jumping down she listened her eyes locked on a direction.
“Prue what?” Piper asked
“Piper Common now!” Prue grabbed her sister’s hand running in the direction her heart led. They had only gone a short distance when Piper spotted Paige.
“PAIGE!... Prue there she is!” Piper dashed toward the youngest at top speed Prue right behind her. Getting there she grabbed the girl in a hug causing her to scream.
“Oh god Paige what is it what’s wrong?” Piper asked
Holding her arm out She showed her wrist to her older sis. Piper hugged her little sis gently this time relived she hadn’t lost her. Prue caught up to the pair she kissed Paige’s cheek and gently held her for a moment. Paige was quiet for a moment but then her eyes widened
“Phoebe! She’s back this way Prue Piper she needs us now.”
Before they could stop her Paige started back toward Phoebe leading the older P’s. After a few minutes Paige felt they were close but she couldn’t remember Prue stepped forward a bit seeming to hear something.
“Prue….Prue….this way sweetheart this way!”
“Mom?”
“Yes Honey this way hurry!”
“Piper Paige.. It’s this way.”
Prue ran ahead while Piper stayed with Paige. Phoebe started to come around again when she heard her name and someone stroking her forehead.
“Mom?”
“No Sweet Girl Its Prue I’m here baby.”
“I knew you’d be here Prue Mom told me you’d come.”
She did better then that Phoebes she led me to you.”
Later in the ambulance Piper sat holding a bandaged and splinted Paige on her lap Phoebe on the gurney held Prue’s hand tight as they all rode to the hospital. Later after both were put in casts and stitched up the pair were placed in a hospital room. Piper was tending to the girls while Prue spoke to the doctor.
“Miss Halliwell Paige has a moderate concussion and a fractured wrist Phoebe has a broken leg moderate concussion plus bumps and bruises on both. Could’ve been much worse they were lucky. We need to keep them overnight just to be safe.”
“Yes they were Thank you Doctor.”
Going inside the girl’s room Prue went between the twin beds so she could talk to both little sisters. Both looked toward the oldest Halliwell.
“Ok you two First the doctor wants to keep you both overnight.”
Both younger girls groaned at this news.
“Listen!” Piper said in her stern voice
“Now you two scared the crap out of Piper and me we were scared we’d never see you again but you will have lots of time to think about what you did you both are grounded for three weeks. School and home that is all.”
This brought more groans from the teens both looked at Piper.
“Don’t look at me three weeks was my idea Prue thought two.”
Both teens got quiet thinking they better accept this before it gets worse Phoebe though thought she should say something.
“Prue… Paige shouldn’t get three weeks the whole thing was my idea and I pushed her into it then goaded her to keep going. I’m s…sorry Paige.”
Tears started to stream down Phoebe’s cheeks sitting on the bed Prue pulled the small girl into a hug. Prue softly stroked Phoebe’s hair.
“Phoebe it’s ok I had the choice to go or not go.”
Paige moved over to Phoebe’s bed to join the hug followed close by Piper. The sisters held each other for a long while then after moving apart a bit Prue turned to Piper.
“Pipe could you and Paige get us some sodas the machine is down the hall?”
“Sure Prue common Paige lets go.”
“Ok Piper.”
Once the others where gone Phoebe laid her head on Prue’s shoulder she was still sniffling a bit.
“I…I’m sorry I messed up Prue.. I…I.. Promise it won’t happen again.”
Prue looked into the chocolate orbs giving her the Please don’t be mad mommy look. Damn Prue thought she knows how to melt me every time.
“Honey I know it won’t happen again but I think this may be partially my fault.”
“Huh? Your fault?”
“Yes Pheebs you see there is something I haven’t told you and I should have Phoebe you know how Piper and I have always taken care of you?”
“Yes Prue I know.”
“Well you know it’s because we’re your big sisters but that’s only part of our responsibility toward you there is another part.”
“Another part?”
“Yes it’s also our responsibility to be good examples for you to always try to do the right thing. Understand?”
“I think so Prue.”
“Now Phoebe you are a big sister too it’s your responsibility to be a good big sis for her to follow.”
“Phoebe’s eyes looked as big as dinner plates to Prue something had gotten through.
“For…For how long?”
“Oh forever Phoebe Forever.”
Prue gave her little sis a peck on the cheek and tucked her in back under the covers.
“I want you to think about that Pheebs over the next three weeks.”
Phoebe gave a huge sigh
“Oh common honey it’s not that bad.” Prue ruffled her little sis’s hair
While Prue smiled at her Phoebe’s eyes started to flutter and close Prue caressed Phoebe’s cheek.
“Go to sleep Honey I’ll be right here.”
Prue watched her little sis sleep for a while the gentle rise and fall of her chest the calm look on her face Prue so loved her sisters. While Prue was lost in mommy bliss Piper came in carrying the littlest Halliwell sleeping on her shoulder.
“We made it to the machine but only halfway back.”
Prue smiled as Piper tucked Paige into her bed
Walking back over to Prue Piper handed her older sis a root beer then she opened her Mountain dew.
“Prue what are we going to do with these two?”
“I don’t know Piper might as well keep them I mean their broken so we couldn’t unload them.”
“PRUE!!!!!!! For godsake..You’re terrible.”
“Oh Pipe lighten up I’m only kidding...”
Prue grabbed Piper giving her a few noogies then Prue pulls her into a tight hug.
“Love you Pipe.”
“Love you Prue.”
Holding her big sis Pipe started to drift off and couldn’t help the big yawn that followed. Breaking the hug Piper goes over and joins Paige in her bed snuggling close she is soon out Prue following the idea slides in next to Phoebe and is soon in dreamland herself. Next day the Older P’s are following two Wheelchairs out of the Hospital.
“Prue why do I need this I can use my crutches.”
“And I can walk just fine.” Paige added
“Girls its hospital policy please go with it.” Piper said from behind Phoebe.
Getting all into the station wagon Prue drove the bunch toward home after stopping for hamburgers along the way of course.
“Prue did you have the burger with Mayo or Mustard?” Piper asked digging in the bag
“Mustard Piper and pickles.” Prue replied
“Ewwww Prue mustard!!” Phoebe wrinkled her nose
“Hey I like Mustard.” Paige tossed a French fry at Phoebe
“Well I like Mayo Paige.” Phoebe tossed a fry back at her sis
“Girls don’t eat all the fry’s before we get home.”
“Ok Piper.” Both girls replied at once
Once home all slowly made their way inside to the dinner table once all the food was on the right plates lunch started with smiles all around.
“Girls did you take your meds?” Piper asked.
“Oops I forgot Pipe.”
“I did too.” Paige added
“I thought so here you go.” Piper handed each girl an antibiotic pill.
Prue handed the chocolate shake to Phoebe and the Ice tea to Paige after taking a swig from her root beer she dug into her burger, followed by Piper finally sitting down to her chicken grill and mountain dew.
“Pheebs trade half of my patty melt for half your Chicken club?”
“Ok Paige good idea.”
Later after lunch Paige is trying her best to paint with her one good hand while Phoebe lay on the couch nearby reading her favorite magazine. Prue in the kitchen sipped on another root beer while she looked through the mail that came while they were gone she looked up when Piper came in.
“Any bills?” Piper asked
“A couple the Lights and Water.” Prue replied
“Put’em back in the mailbox Prue.”
“Piper? I can’t do that!”
“Don’t know till you try Prue.”
Piper waved her hand as she carried the laundry to the washer indicating she was done talking. Prue watched her go for a moment then giggled a bit at what she said. Putting the mail down Prue went to check on her sisters.
“Hey you two what’s…..Wow Paige you really captured the cabin I like it!”
“Thanks Prue.. It’s kinda hard with one hand though.”
“You’re doing ok how’s the wrist?”
“It’s a little sore but I can wiggle my fingers a bit.”
“That’s good.”
Going over to the couch Prue sat next to Pheebs. Picking up her little sis’s hand Prue gave it a gentle squeeze.
“How’s my slightly older baby girl?’
“Fine Prue I can even wiggle my toes.”
“Very good you’re lucky it was only the small bone in your lower leg could’ve been worse.”
“Yeah it’s called the Fibula, right Prue?”
“Right Paige the Fibula that’s why Phoebes cast is only up to her knee.”
Before Paige could reply again the phone rang Prue reached over answering.
"Hello..Hi Dad how are you? Good us too no they are home a little banged up but both are ok. Ohhh dad you don't have to but but...Ok Ok I won't argue you win. Here's Phoebe."
Prue handed the phone to her little sis and went to find Piper.
"Hey Prue who's on the phone?" Piper was making coffee.
"Dad.. Checking on the teens."
'That’s cool, Prue we need to invite him to dinner sometime soon."
'Good idea some time this week would be good. Oh and he wants us to send him all the girls medical bills.”
“Yay Dad that will help a lot.”
“Sure will Piper why don’t you catch Dad before he hangs up and give him the invite I have to help Paige check her blood.”
‘Sure thing Prue.. The new needles are in the cabinet near the fridge.”
Grabbing the stuff Prue went to help her little sis while Piper picked up the phone. Victor eagerly agreed to dinner saying Saturday was best. Sitting down with Paige Prue picked up the meter after getting the measurement from Paige’s arm she filled the syringe with the correct CC’s.
“Ok sweetie take a deep breath and relax.” Prue kissed Paige’s cheek.
Finding the correct spot Prue inserted the needle slowly and made the injection, Prue so wished this wasn’t necessary but it had to be done. Looking up Prue could see Paige was tearing up a little pulling her little sis into a hug she cooed sweetly in Paige’s ear.
“It’s over sweetie I’ve got you.”
“Guess I’m just a big baby huh?” Paige sniffled.
“No Honey you’re my brave girl don’t forget that ever.”
Paige snuggled into Prue’s shoulder she needed to be held for a while, in the kitchen Piper was showing Phoebe what folding an egg meant when cooking.
‘Good work Pheebs you got it. Now add the bit of oil and the vanilla.”
“Thanks Pipe this is easy.”
Piper watched Pheebs adding the ingredients smiling at the look of concentration on the teen, running her finger down the list Phoebe stopped with a confused look on her face.
“Piper.. it says I have to add a maxi pad! Are they serious?”
Looking at the listing Piper rubbed the flower off the page.
“Silly girl it says Marzipan not maxi pad.”
Both girls busted up as they imagined Prue cutting a piece of the cake finding a maxi pad. Getting back to their serious faces the sisters finished the task putting the cake in the oven. Sitting down Phoebe winced her leg was starting to hurt, Hurt a lot actually Phoebe didn’t say anything. Piper knew Phoebe was hurting.
“Pheebs are you having pain?”
“N….N…No Pipe I’m ok.”
“Sweetie you don’t have to be brave around me I know your hurting let me get your pain meds.”
“No Piper its ok I don’t want it.”
Sitting down Piper took her little sister’s hand in hers Piper knew what was going on.
“Phoebe look at me I know what your afraid of honey but you’re not that girl anymore you’ve grown past that time.”
“Are….are you sure its ok?” Phoebe was starting to tear up she was really hurting and scared.
Piper pulled her little sis into her lap.
“Little sister I know its ok… Now your hurting let me help you please!”
“O…Ok...Hurry Piper it really hurts.”
Moving Phoebe over to the chair next to hers Piper retrieved the codeine prescription from the cabinet handing a pill and some water to the teen who downed it quickly. Sitting back down Piper again pulled her little sis to her lap; gently she stroked the teen’s hair.
“You’re ok Sweet girl just relax and let the medicine work.”
A little while later:
“Piper?”
“Yes Pheebs?”
“Are you still mad at me?”
“Mad about what sweetie?”
“Paige and me going off into the woods like we did! Are you still mad?”
“No honey I’m not and its Paige and I Pheebs not Paige and me.”
“Oh yeah I keep forgetting. You sure you’re not mad?”
“Phoebe I promise I’m not mad anymore.. to tell the truth I was more scared then mad anyway.”
“Scared? Of what?”
“Scared that I wouldn’t be able to do things like this again.”
“Like this?” Phoebe snuggled closer
“Yeah holding you taking care of you a little cuddling in the kitchen. I love you Little sister.”
Piper kissed her little sis on the cheek making her giggle.
“I love you too Pipe.”
“Ready to finish the cake?”
“Yeah can I lick the pans? Pleaseeeeee?”
Piper couldn’t keep from smiling at the look on Phoebe’s face it was like she was 4 again.
“Yeah Pheebs you can lick the pans.”
‘YAYYYYYYYY!!”
In the living room……….
“Paige I don’t remember the big rock by the cabin door being that dark gray?”
“I know Prue but being darker it sets off the front of the cabin better.”
“Ohhh I see.” Prue went back to reading her paper.
Before Prue could get to the financial pages she heard Phoebe’s crutches enter the room.
“Paige you want to help me with this?”
Phoebe smiled handing a pan and a spoon to her sis.
“You bet Pheebs thank you. I love chocolate.”
Piper close behind the teen went to sit next to Prue smiling as she watched the younger P’s devour the remaining cake dough. Looking up Prue watched the pair getting chocolate everywhere: their fingers noses chins… Etc Etc…
“Piper?”
“Yes Prue?”
“Were we ever like that?”
“We were worse Prue trust me. Prue we need to talk.”
“What is it Piper?”
“I just had a small battle getting Phoebe to take a pain pill despite her hurting so much she was starting to cry. She may refuse again..”
Prue Sighed heavily
“I was afraid this may happen Piper we’ll just have to do our best to work with her on this.. Maybe there is a natural alternative we can use. Let me call someone.”
Picking up the phone Prue was about to dial when Piper hugged her.
“You see Prue this why you are the older sister. I knew you’d have an idea!”
“Oh Piper stop you would’ve thought of it too.”
“Maybe.. Oh hey your favorite cake tonight with Marzipan in the middle.”
“Yay Piper.”
“Be sure to thank Phoebe too and be glad there are no Maxi pads in it!”
“Ok Piper I will.”
Prue lifted the phone to her ear just as Piper’s comment registered.
“MAXI PAD? Piper what?”
But the middle sis was gone into her kitchen leaving an open mouthed Prue listening to a dial tone. Shaking her head Prue made a few calls till she found the place she wanted.
“Paige tell Piper I’ll be back in a bit I need to go to China town.”
“Ok Prue I’ll let her know. Oh Oh Prue wait wait!”
Prue waited as Paige ran up to her.
“What Hon?” Prue asked
‘Could you get…Uhhh you know uh..”
“Chocolate covered orange slices Maybe?”
“Uhhh yeah Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee!” Paige gave Prue her best cute look.
“Oh you.. You’re so cute Ok I’ll bring some back.”
“Yay!! Prue... you’re the best-es sis!!!”
Paige grabbed Prue in a big hug wrapping her legs around Prue’s mid section causing Prue to groan a bit at the added weight. Putting her little sis down Prue climbed in her car heading off. A short while later she was at the herbal shop in China Town.
“Hello may I help you?” the Clerk asked.
“Hi Yes my sister needs a pain remedy that doesn’t use drugs.”
“Ahh I see she wants a natural medicine.”
“Oh yes Please.” Prue smiled
The clerk left for a moment then returned with small bag handing it to Prue
“Here you are when your sister is experiencing pain make some tea with a small portion of the root in the bag and have her drink it, Works just as good or better for pain.”
“Great thank you so much this will make things much easier.”
“You’re welcome.”
Before leaving the strip mall Prue stopped by the small market there to pick up the treats she promised to return with
“Let’s see Chocolate Orange slices for Paige, Dried Pineapple for Phoebe and Dried Apricots for Piper. Oh and of course dried Banana for me.”
On the way to the checkout Prue suddenly gasped and ducked back behind a display she waited peeking to see if the woman spotted her, nope she didn’t Prue let out the breath she was holding and went on to the check out.
“That was close.” She whispered to herself.
Getting back to her car Prue was about to put the key in the lock when…..
“Prue Halliwell I thought that was you!”
“Uhhh Yeah Hi Cindy its me Prue.” Prue felt a little sick
“Were you avoiding me in there just now?”
“No Cindy I wouldn’t do that common you know me.”
“Yeah you’re right hey I have to get going but you call me when you can ok?”
“Sure will Cind I won’t forget.” Prue gave a fake smile she hoped it looked real.
“You better bye bye.”
Getting in her car Prue felt a wave of relief wash over her as she started the engine and backed out of the space. Putting the car in Drive Prue pointed it toward home trying to forget what just happened.
“Is Prue back yet?” Paige asked
“Not yet Paige. Why are you so anxious for her to return?” Piper asked
“No reason Piper just miss her.”
Just as Paige finished her answer the Manor door opened and Prue yelled she was home quick as a flash Paige met her.
“Hi sweetie was there something?”
“Oh Prue you know what Gimme Gimme Gimme!”
“Ok Paige here you go.”
Prue handed the bag to the girl receiving a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
“Thank you Thank you Thank you Prue you’re the best.”
Prue had to smile watching the teen run off with her prize. Quickly Prue held up the other bags.
“Hey you two treats for everyone!”
Piper grabbed her bag a smile spreading across her face when she looked inside.
“Thanks Prue you’re so thoughtful.” Piper gave her sis a big smile
“Your welcome Piper and next for the pretty girl on the couch.”
Sitting next to Phoebe Prue handed her the small bag and leaning over whispered into Pheebs ear.
‘With extra sugar.. Don’t tell Piper!”
“YAY!!!!!!!!! Thanks Prue.” Phoebe planted another sloppy kiss on Prue’s cheek.
“Oh and this other bag is for you too Pheebs.”
“What’s in that one?” Phoebe asked
“Piper and I had an idea that you may prefer a pain reliever that didn’t use drugs so I picked this up for you, when you are having pain we make some tea with a small portion of this root clerk says its just as good.”
Phoebe grabbed her older sisters in a fierce hug.
“Thanks guys for understanding I love you!”
“We love you to Pheebs.” Prue replied
“Ditto.” Piper added
Releasing the Hug Phoebe hobbled off to catch up with Paige leaving the older P’s on the couch Piper eyed her older sis something was up.
“Ok Prue Spill.”
“Spill What?”
“Prue I know you something is bothering you, what happened?”
“Well I uhhh sort of ran into Cindy at the market.”
“Cindy?....Cindy Travis?”
“Yep that’s the one Pipe.”
“Wait Prue from the way you acting right now do you mean to tell me you haven’t talked to her yet?”
“Well Piper I’ve been busy with work and this Paige thing...Uhhhh!”
“Prue.. For god sake you lead the girl on then just dump her.”
“I didn’t dump her Piper I was confused Andy braking up with me and then Darryl I just I Don’t know maybe rebounded with Cindy then…… Damn…!”
Prue dropped down on the sofa with a heavy sigh Tears welled in her eyes as she struggled to get her thoughts straight. Piper quickly sat down next to her pulling her older sis into her arms.
“I’m sorry Prue I didn’t mean to be so short with you but you have to talk to her get this worked out.”
“I know Piper I know.” Prue sounded defeated.
“Prue Honey look at the very least you need to sit down with her and stop avoiding this.”
“Your right Piper I think I still have her number on my cell.”
Getting to her feet Prue pulled out her cell phone and hit the quick dial. Her heart seemed to jump at the thought of calling Cindy… ‘Wonder what that means’ Prue thought as the connection rang.
“Hello.” Cindy’s voice
“Hi Cindy its Prue.”
“Prue…. I knew you’d call it’s so great to hear your voice.”
“You too Cindy Hey we need to get together and talk can you come over?.....Good about 10 minutes? Ok see you then.”
Prue closed her phone at the same moment she felt scared to death and elated beyond thinking, while Prue tried to sort her feelings Piper walked back into the room.
“How’d it go?” Piper could see the excitement in her sister’s eyes
“It went…Good she’s coming over.”
“Good I’ll keep me and the others out of your way and have some cheese and wine ready for you two in minutes.”
Prue pulled Piper into her arms hugging her tight.
“Thanks Pipe what would I do without you?”
“Suffer endlessly no doubt. I love you Prue.”
“Love you too Piper.”
While her sis went to the kitchen Prue went upstairs to her room to change into something more causal that done she checked her hair and brushed her teeth just to make sure, Feeling ready as she’ll ever be Prue walked back downstairs just in time to hear the bell.
“Well Prue get the door!” Piper pushed her sis a bit
‘But Piper do I look ok? Is my hair ok? Tell me!”
“Prue honey you look fine now get the door.”
Taking a deep breath Prue walked to the door opening it slowly her breath caught in her throat when she saw the woman standing there. The long blonde hair the big blue eyes seeming to smile at her course the huge grin Cindy had at seeing Prue helped the whole package.
“Hi Prue!”
“Hi Cindy!” Prue felt frozen to the spot
“Uhh Prue can I come in?” Cindy asked
“Oh…Oh Yeah sure I…I’m sorry Cindy Please come in what was I thinking.”
Moving aside to let Cindy pass Prue stole a peek at her backside then gave Piper a ‘Don’t you have somewhere else to be’ look. Giggling Piper quickly excused her self but snuck back to see Prue following the girl like a Lion following its Prey. Leading her friend to the living room Prue motioned to the couch getting a smile in response the two sit close.
“Would you like some Wine?” Prue asked
“Yes please thank you.”
Prue poured a glass for Cindy and herself laying back she handed the glass to the woman sitting with her. Taking the glass Cindy’s hand brushed hers, Prue felt like she had been given an electric shock. Prue smiled interlacing her left hand with Cindy’s.
“I was so glad you called Prue. I missed you.”
“I missed you too Cindy and I’m sorry I took so long I’ve been so confused with myself and everything.”
“Confused? Not about me?” Cindy set her glass down
Prue quickly took both Cindy’s hands in hers.
“No Cindy not at all I could never be surer of anyone like I am about you. It was just me all me not you at all.”
The loving smile that spread across Prue’s face was only matched by Cindy’s no more words were said as they both leaned in, their lips met in a gentle kiss Prue felt her heart jump again as Cindy’s hands interlaced with hers she was definitely in love no more doubts remained. As the pair parted half silenced giggling reached their ears.
“Uh Prue?” Cindy smiled pointing to the stairs
“Don’t tell me two sets of big brown eyes right?”
“Actually three sets Prue and three silly grins as well.” Cindy replied
Prue couldn’t help but laugh herself grabbing a pillow off the couch Prue launched it at her sisters
“Peep shows over you guys get upstairs now!”
Cindy broke into giggles herself listing to the feet running back up the stairs. Grabbing her wine glass she took a sip smiling at Prue.
“You are so lucky Prue My sister lives in New York I hardly get to see her you have three here with you.”
Prue looked back toward the stairs for a moment then turned back to Cindy picking up her own glass.
“Yeah I am lucky they are the best a girl could have Cind.”
“Tell me about them please.”
“Ok “Prue replied refilling Cindy’s glass and her own.
“First Piper she is one that you met at the door Hmmm Piper well the best way to describe Piper is Beautiful, kinda shy, very loving always thinking of others first.”
Sitting at the top of the stairs Piper smiled at her older sister’s praise. Prue continued
“To continue Piper is Sort of like a More Hip Martha Stewart but twice as anal.”
Paige and Phoebe both put a hand over Piper’s mouth to keep her from giving them away
“Now Phoebe there’s my baby she’s the sweetest teenager you could meet, she’s always been more my little girl then little sister.”
Upstairs Phoebe blushed a little as a big smile crossed her face.
“Now Paige there’s my latest blessing Pretty sweet a little sensitive but a very charming young lady everyone tells me she’s the image of me at that age.”
Paige smiled big hearing this she liked being compared to her oldest sis.
“Ok you guys I know you’re at the top of the stairs come on down someone wants to meet you.” Prue smiled hearing the hurried feet come her way.
“Hi!!” Three voices said at once.
Prue had to laugh she so loved her sisters. Pointing to each in order
“This is Piper!”
“Hi Piper I hear your cooking can’t be beat.”
“Hi Cindy nice to meet you and it can’t.”
Prue continued.
“This is Phoebe.”
“Hi Phoebe I hear good things about you.”
“Hi Cindy Prue was right you’re pretty.”
“Phoebe…” Prue blushed Cindy smiled tickling Prue’s nose a little
“Last but not least this cutie is Paige our artist.”
“An artist huh and Prue she does look like you. Nice to meet you Honey”
“Hi Cindy..” Paige was still a little shy
Suddenly Piper grabbed her purse taking both younger P’s by an arm.
“Ok guys Like Prue said earlier Its Ice cream time!”
“Ice Cream?” both ask in one voice
“Yes Ice Cream lets go. Nice to meet you Cindy but we need to go.”
With that Piper ushers the two out the door leaving Prue and Cindy alone. After a moment or two Prue refills their glasses, handing Cindy her glass Prue giggled a bit.
“Subtle isn’t she?” Prue asked
“Very but her hearts in the right place.” Cindy replies
Taking Prue’s hand in hers Cindy gently kissed the fingers one by one followed by pulling Prue close. She could feel Prue’s breath on her lips..
“You’re so beautiful Prue.”
Cindy pressed her lips to Prue’s relishing their softness, snaking her arms around the blonde Prue held tight as the Kiss deepened drawing a soft moan from the brunette.
Again they part looking deep into each others eyes
“Cindy? Should we?” Prue’s voice trembled slightly
“Prue don’t think just go with it.”
Taking Cindy’s hand Prue led her across the room and up the stairs
“All I want right now is to be with you!” Prue gazed into Cindy’s eyes
“I want nothing more Prue.”
Together they enter Prue’s room shutting the door.
At The Ice Cream Shop.
Piper taking a spoonful of her banana split notices Paige seems lost in thought.
“Paige you ok?
“Huh... Oh y...Yeah Piper I’m just trying to figure out something’s.”
“What things Honey?”
“Well are we getting a new sister or sister-in-law? And Do we call her sis or Cindy or??”
Phoebe giggled a little while Piper smiled at the innocence of the questions. Putting her spoon down Piper explained.
“Paige sweetie it’s too early to consider these things but I’m sure she would like being called Sis, for now though lets stick with Cindy.”
“Ok Piper. I like her she’s nice.”
‘Yeah she seems very nice” Phoebe added
“I think so too she seems very nice.” Piper replied
Piper’s pride in her little sisters swelled as they talked the two of them looked at the situation with their oldest sis with joy Two people in love without the hurtful nonsense so-called normal society tries to force on everyone. Love is love it doesn’t matter if the gender is the same.
“You two are ok with Prue and Cindy huh?”
“Sure Piper love is never wrong no matter what others say.” Phoebe smiled
“Course Piper really it’s the soul that falls in love it’s always right. Wish everyone accepted that.” Paige added.
“Best part is Prue’s happy.” Phoebe finished her Ice cream
“Yeah I like that part.” Paige finished too.
“You two are the best you know that? I love you guys.”
Helping Phoebe to her feet Piper ushered her charges to the car and started for home, Moving slowly so her crutches made as little noise as possible Phoebe held the door open for her other two sisters.
“Ok you too time for bed get going.”
“Night Night Piper.” Phoebe turned toward the stairs
“Night ***YAWN*** Piper.” Paige was sleepy.
“Night you too.” Piper kissed both goodnight.
The younger girls helped each other into their PJ’s then Paige went to her room and Phoebe climbed into her bed clutching her teddy close. Phoebe had just closed her eyes when she felt a soft kiss on her forehead opening her eyes.
“Hi Prue.”
“Hey Sweetie wanted to check on you and say goodnight.”
“I’m good Prue Night Night I love you.”
“Night honey I love you too.”
“Prue wait?
Prue sat back down on the side of the bed.
“What sweetie?”
“You love Cindy don’t you?”
“Yes Phoebe I do. What do you think?”
“I like her a lot Prue she’s pretty do we get to call her sis now?”
Prue couldn’t stop the grin that spread across her face.
“I think she’d like that. Time to sleep now baby.”
“Ok Prue Night Night love you.”
“Love you too little monkey goodnight.”
Pulling the covers up a bit Prue tweaked Phoebe’s nose and left. Settling in Phoebe closed her eyes with a smile. Going to Paige’s room Prue found her already out like a light kissing her cheek Prue tucked her in and headed downstairs.
“Hi Prue young ones all tucked in?”
”Yep Pipe all sound and secure.” Prue giggled a little
“What?” Piper asked
“Phoebe asked me if she could call Cindy Sis. She’s so cute.”
“Yeah Paige asked me the same thing it looks like your going to have to keep Cindy Prue we like her.”
Prue hugged Piper tight.
“I love you guys you’re the best sisters a girl could have.”
“Love you too Prue good night.”
“Night Piper.”
Following Piper back upstairs Prue blew her a kiss from her door, bidding her goodnight she stepped inside closing it.
“Hi Prue little ***YAWN****ones ok?” Cindy looked up
“Yeah they’re all fine.” Prue slid under the covers
“Night Cind.”
“Night Prue.”
Midnight embraced the Manor finding all inside sleeping peacefully one am crept around finding Kit getting some water in the kitchen before returning to Piper’s bed for sleep herself. Two am all were peaceful except for one Paige tossed and turned deep in the nightmare of her adoptive parents death again she watched their car hit from the side bursting into flames
“No Please noooooooooo!” Paige whimpered in her sleep
In her room Prue’s eyes snapped open something was wrong throwing the covers off Prue launched toward her door fast as she could tossing her bedmate onto the floor.
“Prue!!!!!!!!” Paige screamed
Coming through the door Prue’s heart broke at the scene huge terrified eyes tears flowing like rivers two trembling arms reaching for her sitting on the bed Prue wrapped the small girl in her arms Paige sobbed into her shoulder.
“Shhhh……Shhhhh---- Its ok Paige I’ve got you. You’re ok I’m here.”
Prue gently rubbed Page’s back as she tried to calm her. The door quickly filled with concerned sleepy eyes. Looking up Prue motioned for all to come in, Piper sitting on the bed took Paige’s hand in hers Phoebe hobbled over sitting to take the other hand holding tight. No one spoke quietly they assured the youngest she wasn’t alone. Getting to the doorway herself Cindy’s heart warmed at the scene before her catching Prue’s eye Cindy motioned she was returning to bed Prue smiled mouthing thank you. On her way back Cindy made a mental note to call her sister. Slowly Paige quieted to small sniffles Piper and Phoebe kissed her goodnight going back to bed leaving Paige snug in Prue’s arms.
“Feeling better?” Prue asked
“Uh...Huh. a little.” Paige tightened her hold on Prue
Prue could feel Paige was still shaking.
“Want me to stay with you Honey?”
“Please…!” Two big brown eyes pleaded with their older sis
“Sure sweet girl common now let’s get under the covers.”
Pulling the blanket aside Prue cuddled her little sis close covering the two of them. Paige tucked her head under Prue’s chin closing her eyes with a contented sigh.
“Goodnight Paige Love you.”
“Night Prue love you too.”
Morning came around and the smell of fresh blueberries slowly opened eyes upstairs, untangling herself from her little sis Prue met a half awake Phoebe in the hallway.
“Uhhhh smell pancakes…” Phoebe’s eyes were barely open
“Common Sweetie lean on me.” Prue wrapped her arm around Phoebe’s waist.
As they rounded the corner to the kitchen Paige joined them at the kitchen door.
“Pancakes!” Was all she said
Getting to the table they met Cindy already there waiting with Fork in hand. Prue leaned into the blonde sharing a good morning kiss. The teens made faces
“Ewwww you guys get a room!!!!” Both teens hid behind their napkins.
Cindy and Prue both broke into giggles.. Tossing their napkins at the younger P’s.
‘Ok ok stop the silliness or no pancakes!” Piper had little tolerance for silliness
Quick as they could 4 people suddenly turned into proper ladies sitting up straight with forks in hand. Piper smiled big
“That’s better now can I assume a stack for each?”
“Yes!” all four voices say at once.
After her second pancake vanished Phoebe turned to Paige.
“Paige did you ask Prue about your homework problem?”
“Oooo no I forgot.”
“What is it Paige?” Prue asked
“I’m having a problem with some of the Algebra Prue I don’t quite get it, can you help me?”
“Sure Honey go get it and we’ll take a look.”
Getting up Paige ran to get her homework while Phoebe speared another pancake with her fork; Piper gave her older sis a I just remembered look.
“Prue we need to take the car in for an old change and other things, I have a Lunch date can you do it?”
“Sure Piper….Lunch date huh??? Are we talking about that cute Doctor at the Hospital? Leo was his name I think.”
Piper turned the cutest shade of pink hearing Leo’s name
“Yes Prue if you must know!” Piper tossed a napkin at her older sis
“Prue look at that Cute Blush is she always like this?” Cindy Asked
“Oh yeah Our Prim and Proper Piper Blushes at the drop of a hat.”
That got a wad of butter tossed at her by a still blushing middle sis. Shortly After Prue has cleaned the butter off her chin she is busying looking at Paige’s math Homework, Cindy left for her work and Piper busied herself getting ready for her date, Phoebe in the room the whole time full of teenager questions.
“I didn’t see him is he cute?”
“Yes Phoebe he’s very cute.”
“Doctor Huh? Does that mean he’s loaded?”
“Yes he’s a doctor Pheebs I don’t know if he’s loaded.”
“But All Doctors are loaded right?”
“I guess so sis I didn’t ask.”
“Why didn’t you ask? What kinda car does he drive?”
“I think it’s a corvette Pheebs.”
“Oh good then he is loaded!” Phoebe smiled
“Phoebe!!! Money is not everything.”
“Well you can’t go shopping without it Piper.”
Piper had to smile at the serious look on her sisters face shopping was serious business for her little sis, Piper ruffled Phoebe’s hair
“Ok little sis your right I’ll see you later.”
Leaving quickly before any more questions Piper jumped in her jeep and made a beeline to the hospital, Later that day Phoebe is lying down in her room when Paige comes in giving her sis a smile Paige lays down next to Pheebs.
“Phoebe can I ask you something?”
“Sure Paige what is it?”
“I…I heard Prue and Piper talking about how you didn’t want to take pain medication and they had to get a natural remedy.. Why? What’s wrong with pain meds?”
Phoebe sighed heavily she didn’t want to talk about that time in her life but looking at her baby sis Phoebe remembered what Prue told her about being a good big sis, taking a deep breath Phoebe sat up. Clutching her teddy bear close Phoebe started:
“Well Paige back to when I was 15 I guess I missed my parents being gone more then I realized …I….I started acting out hanging with the wrong crowd Making trouble.”
Paige sat wit her legs crossed listening intently.
“I don’t really know how it started Paige a pill here a pill there to take the edge off make the party better…… beer then later vodka… weed…”
“All of that?” Paige’s eyes were wide as dinner plates
“Yeah Paige all of it..” Phoebe hugged her teddy bear
“I forgot Paige… I forgot Prue and Piper loved me more then anything it didn’t matter long as I was stoned having fun. Then….then… some one died!”
“What?....Who?” Paige’s breath seemed to catch in her throat
Phoebe could feel the tears starting she hadn’t thought about Beth in a while. Hugging her teddy again Pheebs continued:
“A friend Beth was doing the same things I was or actually she was the one that really got me started…. But to continue her older sis after a yelling match with Beth drove off to calm down but hit another car!”
Phoebe fought to keep her voice steady she had to make Paige understand.
“Oh no Phoebe.” Paige took Phoebes hand giving it a squeeze.
“Yeah Paige she died on impact Beth was crushed she couldn’t make things right with her sister…her sister died thinking Beth forgot her love for her.”
Phoebe hid her face in her teddy for a moment Phoebe had sprayed the stuffed bear with Prue’s perfume the smell reassured her to continue.
“God Phoebe I’m sorry.” Paige hugged Phoebe
“Now you understand Paige It was so hard to make everything right with My life and Prue and Piper… I love them both so much and I don’t want to make the old mistakes again.”
‘I understand Phoebe I do really.”
The two sisters hugged for a long time neither seeing Prue by the door.
“You’re a good big sis Phoebe.” Prue whispered going back down stairs
