Phoebe is getting better, but slowly. She is finally getting her life back on track although she still has trouble walking sometimes when her stress is up and she is having trouble dealing with the rape. A month after the incident, she remembered some parts of it and she hasn't been able to get over that.
Morning!" Piper said cheerfully as Phoebe entered the kitchen.
"Morning." Phoebe murmured, barely hearable, as she headed to the coffee pot.
"Didn't you sleep?" Piper asked Phoebe.
"Yea." Phoebe replied.
"Are you sure? Because you seem..." Piper began.
"I said I slept. I'm fine, OK?" Phoebe said as she walked out of the kitchen with her coffee back to her room.
"Geez, somebody's in a bad mood." Piper told herself.
"Morning Piper." Prue replied as she entered the kitchen.
"Morning, want some breakfast?"Piper asked.
"No, I gotta get going. I do need some coffee though." Prue said as she walked over to the coffee pot.
"Is something wrong with Phoebe? I was told her good morning when I was coming down the stairs and she just gave me an evil glare and 'what's so good about it?'" Prue said as she picked up some folders of the counter and put them in her bag.
"Yea, she was the same way to me. She said she slept, I don't know, maybe she's just having a bad day." Piper said.
"Probably, she would tell us if there was something wrong." Prue said, assuring herself and Piper.
"Yea, she would." Piper said, not too convinced.
"Oh, look at the time, I gotta get going. Bye, love ya." Prue said as she walked out the door.
"Love you too." Piper said.
**************************************************
"I don't see how we're suposed to get all this done." Phoebe said to her friend Grace as they walked down the college corridor.
"I know, we have 4 term papers and next week we have to start studying for the finals." Grace replied.
"I was up all night last night and I know I was being a bitch to my sisters. I am so tired." Phoebe said.
"Yea, I was up all night too." Grace said.
"You don't seem tired." Phoebe noted.
"Well, I have my ways." Grace told her.
"Oh? And what ways would that be?" Phoebe asked.
"These." Grace replied as she pulled out a bottle of pills from her bag and handed them to Phoebe.
"What are these?" Phoebe asked.
"Energy pills. I take one of these, and I am up all night and all the next day." Grace replied.
"I don't know, are they safe?" Phoebe asked.
"Yea, they're natural. Anybody can get them over the counter." Grace stated.
"They still seem dangerous to me." Phoebe said.
"Here, take this bottle, I have another bottle at home. Take one tonight and see if it works for you. I have been taking them for months now, and I am fine. I just sleep on the weekends." Grace told her.
"OK, thanks. Oh, there's my sister, I have to go. Good luck on the physcology paper." Phoebe told her.
"Thanks, you too. Bye." Grace replied as they both went their separate ways.
**************************************************
"Knock, knock." Piper said as she peered into her sister's room.
"Hey. Come in." Phoebe said as she looked up from her laptop.
"Still doing work?" Piper asked as she sat down next to Phoebe on her bed and looked at the laptop.
"Of course, that's all I ever do anymore." Phoebe said as she took her glasses off and laid back on the bed.
"I've noticed." Piper noted.
"I mean, we have 4 term papers to write, and we have to start studying for finals next week. I don't know how I'm going to pull all this off." Phoebe said.
"Well, you've been doing fine so far." Piper said.
"Yea, eliminating sleep in my daily schedule does seem to give me more time to work." Phoebe said, sorry she mentioned that she wasn;t sleeping.
"So thats why you have been so grumpy. You have to sleep Phoebe, your body needs sleep for energy." Piper told her, concerned.
"Thank you, doctor, but I am aware of this. I'll figure something out." Phoebe said.
"OK, well, its midnight, so I'm going to bed. I want you to get some rest tonight too, OK?" Piper asked.
"Yes, mom." Phoebe replied with a smirk as she sat up.
"Goodnight, love you." Piper said as she stood up.
"Love you too." Phoebe replied as Piper closed the door. Phoebe began to close her eyes, but opened them again.
"I can't do my work if my eyes are going to keep trying to close." Phoebe replied. Then she remembered back to earlier at college.
"Well, can't hurt to try 'em." Phoebe told her self as she rummaged through her book bag looking for them.
"Here you are." Phoebe said as she pulled the bottle out of her bag opened the lid. She took one out and swallowed it.
"Now, lets see if Grace was right." Phoebe said as she put on her glasses and went back to typing.
**************************************************
Piper knocked on Phoebe's door to wake her.
"Phoebs, time to wake up." Piper said.
"I'm up." Phoebe replied. Piper opened up the door to see Phoebe in the same position as the night before.
"Phoebe, did you pull an all nighter, again?" Piper asked.
"It's morning already?"Phoebe asked as she looked up from her laptop.
"Uh, yea. Morning comes after night. I told you to get some rest." Piper said as she walked into the room and looked at the laptop.
"Rest? Oh, i don't need rest, I'm not even tired. I am just fine. I am refreshed and ready for college today." Phoebe said.
"Oh, and where did this burst of energy come from?" Piper asked.
"I dunno. It's just here. I don't question a burst of energy, and neither should you. Oh, look at the time, I have to get ready." Phoebe said quicker than usual, then she stood and ran to the bathroom to take a shower.
"That girl is so weird." Piper told herself as she walked out of Phoebe's room.
"Well, it looks like Phoebe is in a good mood this morning." Prue told Piper as she saw her emerge from Phoebe's room.
"Yea, but I have no idea why. She just pulled another all night." Piper told her.
"Another one? That girl has got to slow down." Prue told her.
"I know, I told her to get some sleep last night, but I woke up and found her in the same place as I left her last night." Piper told Prue as they both walked into the kitchen.
"We'll talk to her when she comes down." Prue said. Just then, Phoebe ran into the kitchen straight to the coffee pot and poured herself some coffee in a to-go cup.
"Phoebs, we need to talk." Prue told her.
"Sorry, no time, gotta get going. Don't wanna be late for class." Phoebe said as she flashed them a smile then ran out the door.
"Or maybe we won't talk to her." Prue said.
**************************************************
"Hi Grace." Phoebe said as she saw her friend in the hallway.
"Hey Phoebe, you seem perky, try those pills?" Grace asked.
"Yea, they work great! I mean, I was up all night and I feel completely fine." Phoebe said.
"I told you they worked."Grace said.
"Yea, and I don't feel any side effects or anything, so they must be safe." Phoebe said.
"Yea, they are." Grace said.
"I am ready for anything Mr. Hancock gives us." Phoebe said as she and Grace walked into a classroom.
**************************************************
"Phoebe, your going to sleep tonight if I have to stay here until you do." Piper said as she sat next to Phoebe on her bed.
"Piper, I have to finish this paper, it's due tomorrow. Besides, I don't need sleep. I didn't sleep last night and I was fine all day." Phoebe said.
"Phoebe, your going to sleep." Piper told her.
"No, I'm not." Phoebe said.
"OK, fine, we'll just bring Prue in. Prue!" Piper yelled for her older sister.
"What?" Prue asked as she entered Phoebe's bedroom and sat on the bed.
"Tell Phoebe that she has to go to sleep." Piper told her.
"Phoebe, you have to go to sleep." Prue told her.
"No, I don't. I'm an adult and I can decide when and if I am going to sleep. Besides, like I already told Piper, I was fine all day and I didn't sleep last night either." Phoebe told her.
"Phoebe, your body needs sleep. You can't go another night without it." Prue told her.
"Yes I can."Phoebe told them as she moved into a more comfortable position and knocked her bag off the bed.
"I'll get it." Piper said since she was the closest. She bent over the bed to pick it up and saw the pill bottle that had fallen out.
"Phoebe, what are these?" Piper asked as she sat up and showed the bottle.
"Nothing." Phoebe told them.
"Phoebe..." Piper said.
"OK, they're energy pills. I take one of these and I don't have to sleep. I can stay up and do my work, no side effects." Phoebe told them.
"Phoebe, these are dangerous!" Prue said as she studied the bottle.
"No they aren't. They're all natural. Anybody can get them over the counter." Phoebe explained.
"Phoebe, just because they are natural doesn't mean that they can't hurt you." Prue informed her.
"Now, get some sleep." Piper told her as she pulled down the bed covers and tucked her into bed.
"Fine, if it will make you happy. I don't need those pills." Phoebe said, reassuring them.
"Good, because you'll never see them again. Goodnight, sweetie." Prue said s she kissed her on the head as did Piper.
"Good night, I love you guys." Phoebe said.
"Love you too." Both Prue and Piper responded at the same time. Then the flicked off the light, closed the door, and left Phoebe to sleep peacefully.
As soon as Prue and Piper left, Phoebe got up, turned on her light, and locked the door, then went into her closet. There, hidden in a shoe box deep within her closet, was another bottle of pills.
"My emergency stash." Phoebe whispered to herself. Then she took one, went back to her bed, turned her laptop on, and continued her work.
"Those pills seem to be having less of an effect on me know that I have been taking them for the past week and a half." Phoebe said as she sat across from Grace at a table outside with their books opened and scattered.
"Thats what I thought at first too. Here, take these instead, they are suposed to be even better than the other ones." Grace said as she handed her friend a bottle full of pills.
"
"Well, I'll have to try these starting Monday because this weekend I am getting some all natural sleep." Phoebe said.
"Yea me too. I cram on the week days and get my rest on the weekend." Grace said as she started closing her books and piling them up.
"I gotta go, my brother is picking me up and taking me to a movie. Bye." Grace said as she stood up.
"Bye Grace, see ya on Tuesday." Phoebe replied as she watched her friend walk off towards her brother's car.
************************************************************
'A nice peaceful night at home to relax, and sleep' Phoebe thought to her self as she stepped into her room in her sweats after just taking a shower.
"Hey Pheebs, I need a favor." Piper said as she stood in the door way of Phoebe's room.
"Um, what is it, Pipe?" Phoebe asked.
"2 of my bartenders called in sick and it is Friday, my busiest night. Do you think you could come down and help out?" Piper asked.
"Piper, actually I was..." Phoebe start.
"Please? I really need the help." Piper said pleadingly.
"Oh, all right." Phoebe said.
"Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. I owe ya big time for this one sister." Piper said as she hugged Phoebe.
"You know it." Phoebe replied.
"Be ready in an hour?" Piper asked.
"Yea." Phoebe replied as she smiled.
"Great." Piper said then walked off to go get ready.
"So much for sleep." Phoebe said to herself as she looked through her bag and found both her pill bottles.
"I'll just use the old ones for now, I'll try the new ones on Monday." Phoebe mumbled to herself as she downed a pill and went to her closet to pick out something to wear.
************************************************************
"Busy night, huh Pipe?" Prue asked as she cleared the glasses from one part of the counter.
"Friday nights always are." Piper replied.
"Yea, where is Phoebe?" Prie asked.
"Clearing tables." Piper replied.
"We never did find out what has been bothering her lately. One minute she is all bitchy and the next she is all hyper and perky. Its weird." Prue replied.
"Yea, I know. Maybe we should confront her about it." Piper suggested.
"No, she'll come to us when she's ready."Prue replied.
"I am tired of waiting." Piper replied.
"OK, tomorrow morning, at breakfast, we'll talk to her about it." Prue said.
"Thankyou." Piper replied back.
************************************************************
"It's 1:00 in the afternoon and she still isn't up?" Prue asked Piper who was sitting on the couch next to her.
"Yea, its weird. But, I don't think she went to bed until about 5 this morning. I heard her up." Piper said.
"Yea me too. We have to find out what's wrong." Prue replied.
"Whats wrong with who?" A sleepy Phoebe asked, still in her pajamas as she settled down on the couch in between her 2 sisters
"You." Prue replied as she brushed some hair out of her little sister's face.
"Me?" Phoebe asked, suprised.
"Yea, you." Piper responded.
"There's nothing wrong with me." Phoebe replied as-a-matter-of-factly.
"Really?" Piper asked.
"Really." Phoebe responded.
"I think your mistaken." Prue said.
"I think you are mistaken." Phoebe replied, getting somewhat annoyed.
"Look, just talk to us. What's wrong?" Piper asked as she wrapped an arm around Phoebe's shoulders. Phoebe shrugged it off and stood up.
"I said nothing is the matter, now can you two just lay off of me." Phoebe replied as she went back to her room for more sleep.
"Definitely a problem." Piper said.
"Yep." Prue replied.
************************************************************
'Oh, Tuesday morning all ready.' Phoebe thought to herself as she took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes.
'Well, those second pills that Grace gave me did work better than the first ones.'
Phoebe thought to herself as got up off her bed and streched. She walked over to her desk and found both the pill bottles. laying underneath her jacket.
'Time for my morning dose of energy.' Phoebe said as she picked up a bottle, took out a pill, put the lid back on, and set it back down.
'Would two help me even more? It doesn't say on here you can't take two.' Phoebe told herself as she remembered what she read on the bottle.
"Why not." Phoebe said as she picked up the bottle and downed another pill. The thing she didn't know was that she picked up the second bottle, not the one she took the first pill from.
Note: I am not a doctor or anything and I don’t know much about medical terms and stuff, so I am sorry if any of it is wrong.
“Man, that was hard!” Grace told Phoebe as the two stepped outside the classroom door.
“Yea, first final is always a bitch. I’m glad we only had one today.” Phoebe said back as they walked down the long corridor.
“Me too. But tomorrow, we have two, so that means double cramming tonight.” Grace said back.
“Yea. Do you wanna come over to my house tonight and we can study together?” Phoebe asked Grace.
“Yea, I think that would help us. We can quiz each other and ask about things we don’t get.” Grace said.
“Ok, how about 4:30?” Phoebe asked.
“That’s good for me.” Grace replied as they both approached the steps in front of the college building and started down them. All of a sudden, Phoebe felt a rush of dizziness and nausea come on. She doubled over, holding her stomach.
“Phoebe, you OK?” Grace asked in a concerned tone. But before Phoebe could answer, she went tumbling down the steps, all of them.
“Phoebe! Grace said as she looked at the form sprawled on the side walk below and she rushed to it.
“Somebody call 9-1-1!!” Grace yelled.
************************************************************
“P3, how may I help you?” Piper asked into the phone.
“Is this Mrs. Piper Haliwell?” The lady on the other end asked.
“Yes, it is.” Piper replied back.
“This is San Francisco Memorial Hospital. Your sister was just brought in.” The lady said. All the color from Piper’s face drained at the words of hospital and sister.
“Whi- which one?” Piper asked shakily.
“A Miss Phoebe Haliwell.” The lady replied back.
“Oh, no. Um, thank you for calling.” Piper said back and she hung up the phone and immediately rushed out of the club after putting someone in charge.
As she was driving to the hospital, she dialed Prue’s number.
“415 Magazine, Prue speaking.” Prue said.
“Prue? It’s Piper.” Piper said.
“Piper? Whats up? You don’t sound good.” Prue said, concerned.
“It’s Phoebe, they just took her into the hospital. I don’t know anything.” Piper said.
“What!? My car is in the shop, so your going to have to pick me up.” Prue said.
“OK, its on my way, just be outside waiting.” Piper said then she hung up.
************************************************************
“Excuse me, miss.” Prue said to the receptionist as she and Piper ran into the hospital.
“How can I help you?” The lady asked.
“My sister, they brought her in about 35 minutes ago. Phoebe, Phoebe Haliwell.” Prue said as she wrapped an arm around Piper’s shoulders in comfort.
“They are still doing tests on her right now, but the doctor will be out as soon as he can with some information for you.” The lady said.
“Do you anything about what happened?” Piper asked.
“No, I’m sorry miss.” The lady said, giving them a sympathetic look.
“Ok, thank you.” Prue said as she and Piper took a seat in the waiting room.
************************************************************
“Doctor, we found these in her bag.” An assistant told the doctor as she held up two pill bottles.
“Look at the ingredients, any of them harmful?” The doctor asked.
“Oh no, doctor, look.” The assistant said as she pointed to two ingredients, one on each bottle.
“Mixing those two things can be deadly! OK, I need a stomach pump, now!” The doctor said as he rushed over to his patient and looked for more symptoms.
***********************************************************
“What in the hell is taking so long?” Prue asked as she paced in the waiting room.
“I don’t Prue, just calm down, and sit down, you’re making me dizzy.” Piper said as she took Prue’s hand and pulled her into the chair next to her.
“Sorry, but we have been waiting out for over 3 hours!” Prue said, just then, the door opened.
“Haliwell?” A man in a white coat asked.
“That’s us.” Prue said as she and Piper stood and went over to the doctor.
“Relation to Phoebe Haliwell?” The doctor asked.
“She’s our sister. Is she OK?” Prue asked.
“Why is it taking so long?” Piper asked.
“Let me explain, then you can ask questions. Do you recognize these?” The doctor asked as he pulled the pill bottles out of his jacket pocket.
“That one, Phoebe was taking them before, but we took them away. I’ve never seen the other bottle before.” Prue said.
“We found both of these in your sister’s bag as well as in her system.” The doctor said as the sister’s gave him looks of surprise.
“Ok, see this ingredient (he pointed to one on one bottle) and this ingredient ( he pointed to one on the other bottle) can cause a lot of damage to a person when they are mixed. Major organ damage, system shut downs, heart problems, breathing problems, and sometimes death. We believe that is what happened to your sister.” The doctor said.
“You can die from mixing them?” Piper asked, holding back tears.
“If the dosage is big enough, yes you can. But it seems your sister only took one of each, not enough to kill a normal person although it can do some damage. But…” The doctor said.
“But?” Prue asked.
“When these chemicals are combined, they make a whole new chemical in the body. You sister is very allergic to that chemical, any amount of it can kill her." The doctor went on.
“What!?” Piper asked, crying uncontrollably now along with Prue.
“Right now, we have her stabilized. We pumped her stomach to get out the medicine, but we can’t be sure if we got it all yet, but she, she is in a coma.” The doctor said.
“A few other injuries are that she broke her left arm, she did some damage to her right knee, and she has a large gash on her right arm that was closed up with stitches, as well as a few bumps bruises, and scrapes.” The doctor said.
“How did she get those?” Piper asked, confused.
“She fell down the steps at the college. The witness, her friend, Grace Franksen, said she was walking down the steps and all of a sudden doubled over and just went falling down. That’s when the symptom started apparently.” The doctor said.
“What are her chances of, of…?” Prue asked.
“Surviving? Well, the next 72 hours are very critical. If she comes out of her coma in the next 3 days, she will make it with a long road of recovery ahead of her. If she doesn’t wake up in the next 3 days, she never will.”
(Day 1)
Piper and Prue walked down the long hallway to Phoebe's room, the last one on the floor in the ICU.
"You ready?" Prue asked Piper as they stood outside Phoebe's room.
"Lets go." Piper responded back. They opened the door slowly and walked inside the room. They walked up to the bed and each of them went to one side with tears running down their faces.
"She looks so tiny and helpless." Piper said through tears as she took Phoebe's hand and Prue took the other easily because it had a cast on it..
"Oh, my baby, why did this have to happen to you?" Prue asked as she combed her hand through Phoebe's hair. They sat there for about an hour, in silence with the only noise being the sound of the machines keeping Phoebe alive until finally, Prue spoke.
"I remember one time in April, when Phoebe was about 4, she wanted to dress herself so Grams let her. She came down, half an hour later, and she was wearing long purple pants, a bright orange shirt that was on backwards, a blue baseball cap and her sandals didn't match. When Grams and I tried to help her get it right and match better, she refused that we change anything. So, we went out with her looking like that." Prue said as she smiled at Phoebe and saw Piper smiling too.
"Oh, do you remember that time when Phoebe was about 14. She wanted to meet her friends at the movies, but no one else was home. So she took the car by herself and drove herself there. When she got back, no one was home yet and she was almost safe, but then she hit Mrs. Samson's mailbox right before she turned into the drive way." Piper said laughing.
"Yea, and we got home and saw the dent on the front of the car. We just knew that Grams was going to be furious no matter what Phoebe said. But when Grams got home and was about to start yelling, Phoebe gave her that 'I'm weally weally sorry' look she used to give us all the time. All Grams asked her was, 'how was the movie?'" Prue said, laughing. The room was silent again as their laughing subsided.
"Come on Pheeb's, you've got to pull through. We need you here." Piper said.
*****************************************************************************************************
(Day 2)
The doctor walked silently into Phoebe's room as he looked at his clipboard. When he looked up, he saw Piper and Prue sleeping with their heads on either side of the bed. He smiled at the sight and decided to come back later to talk with them seeing as it wasn't important. 2 hours later, Piper awoke to find Prue already awake.
"Morning." Piper said.
"Morning." Prue replied back. That was all that was said for about an hour.
"Do you think she'll make it, Prue?" Piper asked.
"Of course she will. We're talking about Phoebe here." Prue said smiling as she took one of Piper's hands in hers.
"Yea, you're right. She's too stubborn to die now." Piper said as the tears fell from her eyes.
*****************************************************************************************************
(Day 3)
"Come on Phoebe, you have 5 more hours to wake up. We know you're gonna do it. Come on baby, wake up." Prue said as she absently combed her hand through Phoebe's hair.
"Come on Pheebs, if anybody can make it through this, you can." Piper said as tears fell and she didn't bother to wipe them away.
"I'm going to go get some coffee. Do you want some?" Prue asked.
"Yea, thanks." Piper responded.
"OK, I'be right back." Prue said as she kissed Phoebe on the head then left the room. As she was turning the corner she saw Phoebe's doctor. She was about to say hi when another doctor walked up to him and started talking.
"So that girl in room 345 is your patient." The other doctor asked.
"Yea, she has oh, about 4 hours left before we pull the plug. She's definitely not going to make it, she's not strong enough." Phoebe's doctor said.
"Is that so?" Prue asked, enraged by what the doctor said.
"Oh, miss Haliwell, I didn't me...." The doctor started.
"Save it! I don't have to listen to your bull shit! My sister is strong enough to make it, and she's going to!! If you don't have enough faith in her to say that much, I don't want you as her doctor!" Prue yelled at him.
"Miss, please..." The doctor tried again.
"No, I want another doctor." Prue said as she went back to the room with the coffee.
"Prue, what was all the yelling about?" Piper asked as Prue entered Phoebe's room.
"You heard me?" Prue asked.
"The whole hospital did."Piper answered back.
"Phoebe's ex-doctor said that she isn't strong enough to make it through this. I asked the nurse's station for a different doctor after I explained what happened so they are sending a new one." Prue said.
"The nerve of that guy." Piper said as she and Prue both took their places by Phoebe as the clock ticked by. 6 hours later, a new doctor walked in.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Robins. What I am about to tell you is very hard to say." The doctor said as she walked over the the bed.
"We've given your sister more time than we usually do, and she hasn't woken up. By now, there is no chance that she is going to make it. I am very sorry to have to tell you this. We can wait longer, but it will just keep your sister alive longer than she is meant to be." The doctor said. Prue and Piper were sobbing in each other's arms by this point. After a long discussion, they made a decision.
"You, you can do it. My sister deserves to be at peace and keeping her here like this is just wrong to her." Prue said through her tears.
"Are you sure, both of you?" The doctor asked. Both sisters nodded their heads then went over to Phoebe's bedside to say their goodbyes.
"Oh, Phoebe!" Piper said as she bent down and hugged Phoebe.
"I love you so much, and I always will. Don't you ever forget it." Piper said as she placed a final kiss on Phoebe's head then gave Prue her turn.
"My sweet little baby girl. I love you so much, I always will, I awlays have. Even when we were younger and fought alot, I always loved you. Remember that always." Prue said as she hugged Phoebe and kissed her on the head for the last time, then both Prue and Piper stood back as the doctor walked over to the main machine and switched the power switch to off causing all the beeping machines to shutdown.
"I am very sorry about your sister, but she is in a better place now." The doctor said as she walked away from the machines and out of the room.
Prue and Piper just nodded as they sat on the couch in each others arms. The room was silent, excpet for the soft sobbing of the two grief-stricken sisters. Then, as both sisters look at the hospital bed, one of Phoebe's hands moved, then the other. Prue and Piper rushed over to the bed side and looking up at them were Phoebe's big brown eyes.
"Phoebe!!!" Piper screamed in excitement as she hugged Phoebe tighlty and felt her siter wince in pain.
"Oh, sorry, but you're, you're, " Piper started.
"Alive! Your alive! Oh, my baby girl is alive!" Prue said as she hugged Phoebe tightly as well.
"I'll go get the doctor so she can take the tube out of your throat." Piper said as she ran out of the room to get the doctor. Moments later she returned, dragging the doctor behind her.
"See!" Piper said as she went back over to Phoebe's side.
"Well, I'll be." The doctor said in suprise. She then took the tube out of Phoebe's throat and unhook all the unneccesary tubes and iv lines. She then left to let the sisters have a moment alone.
"What happened?" Phoebe asked quietly and hoarsely.
"You don't remember?" Prue asked. Phoebe shook her head.
"Those pills you were taking, for energy, you had 2 different kinds. The docotor said that you mixed them, you took 1 of each which can be deadly. Not to mention the fact that you are highly allergic to the chemical the two produce when they mix. Everyone said you weren't going to pull through, but me and Piper knew you would." Prue explained as she held her little sister in her arms.
"I'm-sorry." Phoebe whispered.
"No, its OK. We'll talk about this later." Prue said.
"How are you feeling?" Piper asked.
"Sore." Phoebe replied back.
"What hurts?" Piper asked.
"My knee, my arms, my head, and everywhere else." Phoebe replied weakly.
"I'll get the nurse to give you some pain medication." Piper said as she pushed the red call button.
"Why do I hurt so much?" Phoebe asked.
"You fell down the steps at college." Prue told her as she absently fan her fingers through her hair.
"Oh, college, I have exams to take!" Phoebe whispered trying to sit up, but fell back on the pillor because of the pain.
"Ow, ow, ow." Phoebe said.
" You OK?" Prue asked. Phoebe nodded.
"We called the school and a message was sent out to all your teachers to excuse from the finals until you are well enough to take them." Prue said. Just then Piper walked back in the room.
"The nurse said that she can't give you any medicine for the pain because of some of the things they gave you in surgery and they still need to do some tests to make sure no internal damager was done."Piper said and Phoebe just groaned back.
"Do you want anything?" Prue asked her.
"No, I'm Ok. Have either of you heard from Grace?" Phoebe replied back.
"Actually, no, which suprised me. I was thinking about that earlier when the docotr said she was the one that told him what happened." Piper said.
"She probably feels so responsible. Oh, I have to talk to her." Phoebe said.
"Why would she feel responsible?" Prue asked.
"She was the one who.. um... gave me the pills." Phoebe said.
"What? When I get my hands on that girl I am going to..." Prue started.
"No!" Phoebe tried to yell but couldn't because of the after effects of the tube from earlier.
"I was the one who took them from her, and I was the one who took them. Don't blame her, blame me." Phoebe said.
"Why did you take them together?" Piper asked.
"I didn't mean to, really. I took one in the morning, and i figured 2 would give me evenmore energy and I didn't get much sleep that weekend so I figured I could use it. So I picked up the bottle again and took one, but I guess it was the other bottle. I'm sorry." Phoebe said through tears.
'Don't cry, honey. We're not mad at all, we're just worried." Prue said as she carressed her sister's cheek with her hand and wiped away the tears.
"Why don't we worry about that later. Right now we just want you to get better." Piper said, changing the subject.
"Oh, I want the pain to go away." Phoebe said.
"We know you do, but they can't give you anything. Why don't you go back to sleep, it'll help you forget the pain for now." Prue told her. So Phoebe turned on her side and let Prue rub her back which always helped her fall asleep, and soon she was asleep.

They finally let Phoebe go home after 2 weeks, only because Prue and Piper promised to make her rest alot and not get up.
"You ready?" Prue asked as she walked into the hospital room ad saw her sister sitting up on the bed.
"Yea, finally get out of this place. Where's Piper?" Phoebe said.
"She is pulling the car around the front of the hospital. OK, into the chair." Prue said.
"Aww, do I have to?" Phoebe asked.
"Yes, if you don't want to sit in the chair, we could always just leave you here until..." Prue started.
"No, I'll get in the chair!" Phoebe said as she got off the bed and carefully got into the chair with Prue's help.
"To the exit, James." Phoebe said as Prue pushed her down the hallway.
"You!" Prue said as she playfully hit Phoebe on the head.
*****************************************************************************************************
"Home sweet home." Phoebe said as she entered the manor with Prue's arm around her waist because her knee had just got the required surgery to fix it.
"Ok, you wanna go to your room or to the couch?" Piper asked.
"Couch." Pheobe said as Prue and Piper led her into living room ad got her comfy on the couch.
"Now, if you need anything, I'll be in the basement." Prue said.
"And I'll be in the kitchen.(the doorbell rings) right after I answer that." Piper said as she went to answer the door and Prue went down to the basement.
"Piper who was at the..... Grace." Phoebe said as Grace came into sight.
"I'll be in the kitchen." Piper said and walked off.
"Hi Phoebe." Grace said as she walked over and sat next to Phoebe on the couch.
"Hi. How are you?" Phoebe asked.
"I'm doing good." Grace said.
"Wish I could say the same." Phoebe said as she smiled.
"Oh, Phoebe, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." Grace said.
"No! Grace, please, don't blame yourslef. It was my decision to take the pills and if you hadn't give them to me I would have found some anyway."Phoebe said.
But Phoebe..."
"No, buts about it. I don't blame you, my sisters don't blame you, and I don't want you to blame you. It was me who took the pills and accidently mixed them." Phoebe said as she pulled Grace into a hug.
"I'm glad you don't blame me. That's why I didn't come see you at the hospital I thought you wouldn't want to see me." Grace said.
"Oh, Grace, how could you think that? You are my best friend. I could never blame you for what happened to me." Phoebe said.
"Good. You know, as soon as that happened, I stopped taking the pills too."
"Thats good to hear, wouldn't want anything happening to you too. So, how were the finals?" Phoebe asked.
"Hard, very, very, very hard. Especially Mr. Sidon's. That took me forever. I almost didn't finish." Grace said.
"I have to go back and take the ones I missed when I get better. Looks like I am up for some studying." Phoebe said.
"Oh, definitely. ( She looks at her watch) I have to go. My family is going to Chicago to see my grandmom. Bye, get better soon, I'll call ya." Grace said as she pulled Phoebe into a hug.
"Bye, and you better call me." Phoebe said with a smile.
"Bye Phoebe." Grace said then she walked out the door. When Piper heard the door shut, she walked back into the living room and sat next to her sister on the edge of the couch so not to disturb her knee.
"She blamed herself." Phoebe said.
"Did you get it cleared up?" Piper asked.
"Yea, we're good now."Phoebe said with a smile.
"Good. Now I want you to get some rest." Piper said.
"I just rested for 2 weeks. I don't need anymore rest." Phoebe said.
"Well, your're gonna get some anyway. Call me if you need me." Piper said,
"OK." Phoebe said as Piper walked back into the kitchen. Not too soon after, Piper heard her name being called.
"Piper!" Phoebe yelled. Piper walked into the living room to find the couch vacant. Then she heard her name again and looked in front of the stairs to find Phoebe sitting on the floor clutching her knee as best she could.
"Phoebe!" Piper yelped as she fan over to help her sister just as Prue came up out of the basement.
"Whats all the commotion about?" Prue asked as she walked to find her sisters and she did easily.
"Phoebe!" Prue said as she rushed over to help her fallen sister just as Piper had.
"What happened honey?" Prue asked.
"I was trying to get to the bathroom and I thought I could do it myself, but I fell." Phoebe said through tears.
"Why didn't you call one of us?" Piper asked.
"It's kinda weird for a grown woman to ask her sisters to help her to the bathroom. I don't wanna feel totally helpless." Phoebe said.
"Well, a grown woman can ask for her sisters help to the bathroom when she just got out of the hospital. Now lets get you back to the couch." Prue said as she wrapped an arm around Phoebe's waist, as did Piper, and they helped her back onto the couch.
"Now, no more moving. Don't make us tie you to the couch." Prue said as Phoebe gave her a 'yea right' look.
"Oh, believe us, we will." Piper said.
"OK, OK. Geez. I'll stay on the couch." Phoebe said.
"And I will stay here to make sure you do since I finished developing my pictures already." Prue said.
"And dinner is cooking so I can stay here too, double Phoebe security." Piper said as she in the chair. Phoebe turned on the tv and flipped through all the channels, but nothing was on, so she turned it off.
"Guys, I am really sorry about all of this. I shouldn't have pushed myself so hard and I shouldn't have taken those pills." Phoebe said.
"You're right, you shouldn't have done either of those things. But we're not mad at you honey. Just upset that, one, you would take those pills even after we asked to not to, and two, that you don't take better care of yourself." Prue said.
"I know, and I am never going to do anything like that again." Phoebe said.
"Good, because if you did, we would personally kick your butt." Piper said. Then Phoebe sat up and made room on the side of her so Piper could come over, and she did. Then Phoebe pulled both of them into a tight embrace and they hugged her back.
"I love you guys." Phoebe said.
"I love you too." Prue/Piper said.
"Who's up for a movie night? I'll go get some good movies." Piper said.
"Yea! That would be fun." Phoebe said with a smile.
So that night, all three sisters curled up on the couch covered by a quilt and watched their movies. Another bump in the road of life that they got over successfully. It wasn't the first one, and it certainly wouldn't be the last one.
