The Perfect Christmas (SHORT)

Disclaimer: I don’t own them, just borrowed them for a while.

Chris = 3
Wyatt = 5

The whole family was sitting together celebrating Christmas the way only families can. There was Piper sitting on the couch feeling genuinely happy as she watched her husband Leo playing with their two sons Wyatt and Chris, and her two sisters frantically unwrapping presents, Phoebe in her usual Christmas morning frenzy and Paige in her more subdued way. Piper was taking in the view, laughing occasionally as Leo got hit by teddies as Chris was just managing to control his powers, and loved showing them off in front of everyone.

Piper smiled as the sight brought back memories of the whole family together when she was little, her, Prue, Phoebe, Mum, Dad and Grams, under the tree, everyone was so happy then, before mum died and dad left.

Piper was pulled out of her trance as she felt a tug on her trousers; she looked down to see Chris holding a present looking at her.

“Mama, present for you.” Chris looked so sweet standing there, all the innocence on his face as he gave her the small package.

“Wow, thank you sweetie, lets see what this says. Dear Mummy, Happy Christmas, Love Daddy, Wyatt and Chris. xxx.” Piper had a smile on her face as she saw the childish handwriting. “Wyatt, come here honey, did you write this?” Piper asked as she pulled Chris up onto her lap. Wyatt simply nodded his head as he walked over to join his mum and little brother. “Oh I’m so proud of you honey.” Piper pulled Wyatt up next to her.

“Mama open!” Chris demanded in his baby voice, growing impatient as he had to wait for his mum when he could be opening his own presents. “Open now!”

“Whoa there soldier, calm down, I’m getting there,” Piper laughed at the small child’s actions, “Sheesh you’re just like Phoebe.”

“Hey!” Phoebe yelled, “I heard that Piper.”

Piper smiled, “Well Miss Phoebe, it’s true, you two are as bad as each other.” Piper looked at the present and carefully peeled off the pale pink paper, with snowmen and reindeers printed on it. There was a box inside; she could feel everyone in the house watching her as she prised open the lid. There was a locket inside; she could feel the tears as they welled up in her eyes, it was her mother’s locket, the one that she never took off in her life.

“Uhh, uhh I’m speechless, where did you find this? It’s the best present ever.” Piper wiped at her brimming eyes to prevent the tears spilling over, she lightly brushed her fingers over the locket, not quite believing it was actually there.

“Wyatt found it somewhere, I don’t know where, I guess your Grams kept it stashed away somewhere and I just figured you might like it, of course, I checked with your sisters first though.” Leo was smiling at the sight of his wife being so happy.

Piper slid out from under the boys and gave them both a kiss before walking over to Leo. “Thank you,” she whispered as she leant in for a quick kiss.

“Anytime,” Leo replied as he pulled back afterwards, “though you really should be thanking Wyatt as he found it.”

“Aww, where would I be without my two little helpers eh?” Piper asked as she clambered back onto the couch besides them, once again smothering them with kisses, laughing as Wyatt squirmed trying to get away.

“Me present now,” Chris announced as he slid off the couch and waddled over towards the tree.

Phoebe picked him up quickly and held him above her head, “just where do ya think your going goober,” she said using her own special nickname for him.

“Tree,” Chris answered, pointing to exaggerate his opinion.

“Uh huh, why the tree?” Phoebe was teasing him waiting to see his reaction.

“Presents.” He stated simply, just wanting to get down and unwrapping.

Wyatt got up and went over to the tree, quickly picking up his present for Chris. “Happy Christmas Chris!” Wyatt said as he handed it over, Chris squealing to show his delight was put down and started to rip the paper off as Piper beamed at her oldest boy’s actions.

“Here Wyatt,” she called as she pulled out Wyatt’s present. “Here ya go, I’m so proud of you my little soldier.”

Wyatt smiled he knew he had made his mother happy, and knowing that made him happy. It seemed to be the perfect magical Christmas, only without the magic, Leo had no charges for the day and Demons hadn’t attacked for months now, they finally seemed to have realised that messing with the charmed ones, of either generation was like putting their names up on a death list, it was the perfect day for the perfect family, who knew that truly the greatest gift they had was the ability to all be together, to enjoy the peacefulness, on a snowy Christmas morning.

Who said miracles never happen.
