Disclaimer: I am still working on Rescued Innocence but Di told me once that if I write a story on how I am feeling that it may make me feel better so I am doing a short story! I don’t own anyone in this story I borrowed them all from Aaron spelling and Constance Burg.

Piper walked into the manor and tossed her keys on the table by the door and placed her purse down next to her keys. She rubbed at her face and then used her hands to rub her arms. She was freezing. She made her way up the stairs to her room. “Where are they?” She muttered to herself as she began to dig through her dressers until her favorite sweats were found. After getting dressed she made her way back down the stairs and threw herself on the couch. “Oh god” She moaned as an explosion went through her ear. She grabbed at her ear and felt tears prick at the back of her eyes. It felt like her eardrums were going to blow up. She was fine when she got up that morning but as her day progressed the worst the pain. Piper turned on the TV and flipped to her favorite soap opera and lowered the volume.

Prue groaned as she climbed the steps up to the manor. “This day sucked!” She muttered as she fumbled with her keys only to discover that the door was already unlocked. She turned around and noticed Piper’s car was parked in its spot. “PIPER!” Prue called “How many times have I told you to lock the door behind you! I swear you are worse than Phoebe when it comes to locking the door.”
A quiet “Sorry” was all Prue heard. She raised her eyebrow and followed the sound to the living room. She found Piper laying on the couch shivering with tears streaming down her cheeks. “Piper, what’s wrong?”

“My ear, it hurt so bad” She sobbed sitting up and clutching at her ear.

Prue closed her eyes. “This can’t be happening your twenty four years old” Prue muttered. Piper used to, get the, most sever ear infections when she was little. The doctors had put tubes in her ears at one point and even that didn’t help. Prue couldn’t count how many times she sat with her little sister as she screamed because the pain was so bad. Prue looked down to see her sister’s amber brown eyes looking up at her pleading to make her better.

Prue went over to the couch knelt down and placed her hand on Piper’s forehead. “Oh oh oh you are burning up sweet girl.”

“Can’t be” Piper said with a smile “Because I am freezing.” She then had another stab of pain in her ear. She squealed and grabbed a hold of her ear and began to cry.

Prue pushed Piper’s hair back out of her face. “Piper, you’ve got to quit crying. I know how bad it hurts.”

“No you don’t” She sobbed “You’ve never had an ear infection.”
Prue nodded “True. Ok so I don’t know how you feel. But I’ve seen how much pain you are in now and have been in the past. I know it hurts so I know crying is only adding stress which makes it worse.”

“HELLO PEOPLE!” Phoebe’s cheerful voice rang through the house. “Prue, Piper left the door unlocked again.” She added.

Piper rolled her eyes and grabbed at her ear.

“Phoebe lock the door behind you and we’re in the living room.”

Phoebe locked the door behind her and was about to throw her book bag on the ground.

“Don’t throw your back pack on the ground Missy” Prue called to her.

Phoebe giggled and put her bag up on the mini table next to Piper’s purse.

“Hi sister’s” She said as she came into the living room but stopped short when she saw Piper. “What’s the matter honey?”

“She has one of her ear infections.” Prue answered.

Phoebe’s eyes got wide “oooh no dat is bad very very bad.” Phoebe said in her baby voice while running her fingers through Piper’s hair. She remembered how bad they used to get a child.

Piper sniffed and took a few deep breaths. “It hurts so bad and I am so cold.”

“Have you taken anything for the pain?” Phoebe asked.

Piper nodded “Tylenol.”

Prue bit her lip “Maybe we should take you to the hospital.”

“NO!” Piper screamed “I hate going they always make it feel worse.”

“But Piper you need antibiotics” Phoebe said softly “You need to kill the ear infection.”

“Still have some from my last one.” Piper sniffed.

Prue began chewing on her lip “When was your last one?”

Piper looked up at Prue with a guilty expression. “When Dan and I went to his cousins wedding.”

“PIPER, How come you didn’t tell me you got one back then? That was six months ago.” Prue demanded “I should know if you get sick.”

Piper shrugged “Wasn’t bad like this.” She cried “Just sore Dan took care of me and brought me to the hospital. I didn’t even take the meds.”

“Piper, This could be why you have an infection this server now.”

Piper shrugged and began to sob again.

“All right we can talk late about how well you take care of yourself. Lets get you warmed up.” Prue looked at Phoebe. “Go upstairs and start a hot bath please.”

Phoebe kissed Piper’s forehead and ran off to do what she was told.

Prue in the mean time led Piper into the kitchen and made her eat some toast and take some stronger pain meds and Piper’s antibiotics.

While Piper took a long hot bath Prue turned on her heating blanket and pulled the drapes.

Phoebe came into the room and smiled “Piper’s getting ready to come out.”

Prue nodded “You look tired too baby.”

Phoebe nodded “I didn’t sleep well last night. I kept having a bad dream about flunking my test today.”

Prue went to Phoebe and pulled her into her arms and kissed her forehead five times. “Go down eat a sandwich and come back up to bed with Piper in my bed. I don’t need you getting sick. And I know how you get with stress and tired.”

Phoebe nodded and left the room as Piper came in drying her hair with a towel and tears still streaming down her cheeks.

“Oh my sweet girl.” Prue said sadly as she led Piper to her bed. She sat Piper down and brushed back her hair and put it in a braid. “Ok lets get some sleep.”

Prue helped her sister lay down and she pulled her into arms and held her tight.

Piper kept crying but the sobbing had stopped and she was calming down a bit.

Phoebe came back into the room minutes later rubbing at her eyes. She had managed to change into her light thin strapped nightgown.

Prue raised her eyebrow. “Phoebe its winter out side.”
Phoebe giggled “I know but you have your blanket on all the way. And Piper’s got a fever and three bodies in one bed.”

Prue laughed as she pulled back the covers on the other side of her. “Good point.”

Phoebe wasted no times in crawling in. “I can’t believe we area all going to bed at six o’clock.”

Prue grabbed her hand and continued to hold tight to Piper. “Is the pain killer working?”

Piper nodded “A bit.” She said with a sniff.

“Love you Piper” Phoebe said softly as sleep began to take over her.

Piper smiled “Love you too.”

Prue kissed Piper. “Look who’s staying home with me tomorrow?”

“Phoebe” Piper joked.

“Funny girl! You are spending the next four days home Piper I am serious. I need you better.”

“Four days?” Piper whined “My club.”

“Will be just fine keep pushing and I’ll make it five.”

Piper sniffed “ok four.”

Prue smiled “Now get some sleep.”

“K” Piper whispered and finally let sleep take over.

Prue held onto both Piper and Phoebe all night. “My babies.” She whispered with a smile as she fell asleep.
