Paige Matthews lay on her stomach on her big sister’s bed. Her head was spinning. She felt horrible. She was just glad to have her sister. Phoebe had gone out of town to think about Jason on her own. Richard was out of town thinking. When Piper had gone over to the mansion Paige was staying at and found her burning up and all alone she demanded that she come home for the next couple of days. Because her powers were always off when she was sick Paige had refused at first. Saying she didn’t want to get Wyatt sick so Piper called Leo and had him take Wyatt away for a couple of days.
Now Paige was lying on Piper’s bed. She still wasn’t a hundred percent comfortable being alone with Piper. Lately all her and Piper had been doing is nit picking at each other. No matter what happened it seemed that one would say something to tick the other one off. Though they never dealt with it as anger more like bickering a few weeks back they had both been hurt fighting demons and while they helped clean each other wounds they made it sting each other.
Paige was so busy thinking that she didn’t even hear Piper come into the room. “Paige what exactly doesn’t feel good? I know you have a high fever but I can’t help until you tell me what does not feel good” Paige had jumped and turned over when Piper first started talking to her. Piper sat down on the bed. “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” Paige nodded “It’s ok. My head hurts and my body aches” Piper nodded. “Ok” She went over to her dresser and pulled out this funky looking bottle. Paige eyed it carefully what is that?” Piper laughed “Sometimes I forget you didn’t grow up here. This is a special cream that Grams made. It relaxes your muscles when you are sick. She taught me how to make it. Now I know its withy thing but when we were kids we had know idea. We just thought Grams was smart. But the trick with this stuff is you can’t put it on your self. Or it won’t work. It has to be rubbed into your skin by someone who loves you.
Paige raised her eye brow. “That is weird” Piper nodded “Roll over and take your shirt off” Paige took her shirt off and rolled over. “Mmm that smells so good” Piper smiled “Yes it does” Piper began to rub it in to Paige’s back. With in minutes the ache stopped. “Wow Grams was good” Paige mumbled. Piper nodded again as she put the lotion away. “Paige can I ask you something” Paige sat up only to have Piper push her back down. “No no stay laying down” Paige groaned “Ask away” “Why didn’t you call me when you got sick, you were all alone in that BIG house and your fever was so high when I found you” Paige shrugged “I didn’t want to bother you” Piper sighed. “Paige in this family we let each other know when we don’t feel good. It’s the only way to make sure we stay safe and get better. I mean really Paige you orb all over this place when you are sick” Paige sighed. “I know but Piper oh never mind” Paige rolled over to look away from her sister. Piper used her hands to roll Paige over. “Come on Paige tell me what you were going to say” Paige sighed “It’s just lately all you and I seem to do is nit pick at each other” Piper began to giggle. “Honey that’s what sister’s do, Phoebe and Prue did it all the time. Yet they were super close.” Paige sat up again. “Do you think we are close?”
Piper looked at the ground and then back at Paige. Her amber brown eyes staring straight into Piper’s matching eyes. “Paige I think I finally know what Prue felt all those years with Phoebe” Paige looked confused “How dose that answer my question?”
Piper grabbed her sister’s hand. “At times I see this stubborn girl who thinks she can take on the whole world by herself not caring what happens to those around her. But then other times I see this young innocent child like person who needs me to protect them. Like I want to shield you from everything that comes your way”
Paige bit her lip. “You love me that much? I always thought you liked me as a friend nothing more”
“Paige Lindsay Halliwell I know that is not your last name but I consider that is” Paige cringed she hated it when Piper used that tone with her. “I am sorry it’s just what I thought” Piper shook her head. “No Paige I would never think of you as just a friend I think of you as my baby sister. I loved having one baby sister now I have two. I love it”
Paige smiled and yawned. Piper laid her back down and kissed the top of her head. “I am going to go lock up the house and call Leo and Wyatt down so I can say good night” Paige nodded. “Thanks for sharing your bed with me” Piper shrugged her shoulders. “It’s ok I don’t mind. I hope you don’t kick like Phoebe does”
Paige closed her eyes. “I don’t kick my mom always said I was the best child to sleep with because I don’t move” Paige had a smile on her face as she was thinking of her mother. Piper smiled too. “Prue didn’t move either. I bet you guys got that both from out mom” Paige nodded. “Maybe I don’t really know anything about our mother though. I know she gave up to easily” Piper stopped dead in her tracks. “What’s that supposed to mean Paige” Paige sighed “Nothing Piper it was nothing” Piper glared at Paige. “You know if you did not have a fever I would beat you for that remark” Paige sat up. “What’s stopping you Piper come on beat me up for feeling the way I do” Paige said starting to get up. She groaned at the sudden sharp pain hit her head. Piper rolled her eyes “Paige lie down” Paige shook her head. “No you want to hit me so do it. I think mom gave up to easily. She didn’t like a challenge she was a BIG STUPID CHICKEN” Paige was yelling so hard she started to cough. Piper didn’t know what to do. She was ticked but she had a feeling Paige need to get rid of some anger. “Mom was not mom was the best person in the world” Paige shook her head. “No she wasn’t she was horrible and I hate HER!!! I am just glad that you took after your father or Wyatt would be God knows where” Paige was shaking now. She fell back down on to the bed with sobs racking her small frame. Piper glared at her. “Are you done now” Paige nodded. Piper nodded “Good I am glad you are over your temper tantrum I am going to go down stairs and lock the doors now and say good night to my son and then I am going to get you some water” Paige sighed “Want me to sleep on the couch” Piper shook her head “No I want you to sleep right there” Paige crawled in under the sheets. She still had tears rolling down her cheeks. Piper wanted so bad to go and hug her. But she didn’t she wanted Paige to have some thinking time.
Piper made her way down the stairs. She knew Paige was feeling abandoned by her mother. Paige saw all the time Leo and Piper taking care of Wyatt and it working and twenty five years ago that baby was her. Piper could understand how it was eating her up. Piper knew that if her mom had fought it they could have won. Paige could have been raised with her sister’s and her parents. Piper put her hands in her head as she sat on the couch to calm down a little. “Prue I need help here how do I deal with her. How did you deal with Phoebe? I wish I paid more attention to you and how you handled Phoebe. Please help me with our youngest sister” Piper said through her tears.
Leo orbed in with Wyatt a few minutes later “Piper are you ok” Piper nodded and took Wyatt from his daddy. “Hi little man hi how are you baby” She kissed him a dozen times before handing him back to Leo. “I am just having some Paige troubles but I will work it out. You and Wyatt go have some father son time” Leo nodded and orbed out. Piper continued to check the house to make sure things were locked. She grabbed Paige a water bottle from the fridge and climbed the stair case. She found Paige laying there staring at a picture of Prue on Piper’s night stand. “Here ya go Paige” Piper said handing her the water bottle. Paige smiled and guzzled the water down. Her throat hurt from yelling. Piper changed into her pjs and climbed next to Paige. Paige still had not taken her eyes away from the picture. “She was pretty huh” Piper said quietly. Paige nodded “I love her eyes” Piper nodded “I did too expect when they were angry she was very scary when she was angry” Paige nodded “I bet. You know I have met mom and my dad and Grams and even saw my parents as being a witch the only person I wanted to meet was Prue. I wonder if I ever will” Piper shrugged her shoulders and took Paige’s water bottle and put it on the stand. She clapped the lights off “We need sleep Paige we need to talk tomorrow” Paige nodded and closed her eyes. She had not even realized she had scooted as close to the edge as she could get until Piper sat up and pulled her closer to her. “You are going to fall of the bed like that sweetie. Don’t worry I don’t bite or kick” Piper said as she began to play with Paige’s now semi long Strawberry Blonde hair. Paige sighed as she felt Piper play with her hair. It had been ages since some one ran her fingers through her hair as she fell asleep. She could only wonder what tomorrow was going to bring.

Piper woke up the next morning. Paige was right Piper had not felt her once during the night. When ever she slept with Phoebe she woke up with bruises or Charlie horses in her legs. Piper leaned over and carefully put her hand on Paige’s forehead to check if her fever was down and she found out not to her liking she felt even hotter then she did yesterday. “Oh what am I going to do with you Missy Paige” Piper whispered as she got out of bed. She decided to go down stairs and let Paige sleep for a while longer. Then she would wake her up and shove water fever reducers down her throat.
Piper entered the kitchen and smelt coffee brewing right away. “Huh weird I don’t remember setting the timer on the pot. Knowing that her and Paige would not be up until they felt like it. Piper grabbed a quick cup of coffee. “Augh it’s like diesel” She said taking a sip of the coffee. She set the coffee on the table and noticed the newspaper was spread out like it had already been read. “Weird” Piper said as she filled a glass of water to bring up to Paige. Piper went up stairs and woke Paige up long enough to get her to drink the glass of water. “Honey you sleep for awhile longer ok” Paige barley nodded and was asleep again. Paige kissed her forehead and went back down the stairs. She went back down the stairs. Something was off but it was felt right all at once. Piper carefully looked around she could smell something kind of sweet smelling something she had not smelt in a couple of years. “Aug Piper you are going crazy” She mumbled to her self as she went back and tried to drink the horrible tasting coffee. She made some toast quickly for Paige and then all of a sudden she heard a clinking sound coming from the Conservatory like the sound of a coffee cup hitting the class table they had out their. Piper didn’t even realize that she still had Paige’s toast in her hands. “Phoebe just called last night she is at our summer ranch we stayed as kids in Washington” Piper said to herself calmly when she made it to the Conservatory her eyes nearly popped out of her eyes and she dropped the plate causing it to shatter. “It’s about time you woke up” The voice said from the table. Piper bent down out of instinct and began to pick up the parts of the plate. She walked back into the kitchen shaking her head. She heard soft foot steps following her. Piper put her head into the freezer “I must have gotten Paige’s fever I am delusional” She said to herself. “I really doubt that.” Piper peeked around the freezer door and sure enough the figure was standing there as clear as day. “Are you going to keep your head in the freezer all day or you going to come out and talk to me” Piper took another deep breath of the cold air before shutting the freezer door. “I am going to go up stairs and check on my baby sister don’t you try and stop me. If she is ok then maybe I will believe this but but but” Piper stammered as she ran out of the room. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her to her room. To her relief Paige was laying on her bed still asleep. Her breathing was normal and she looked ok. Piper crawled next to her and woke her up. “Paige honey wake up for a second” Paige sat up and rubbed her eyes. “Huh are you ok Piper you look like you have seen a ghost” Piper sighed “Might have. Paige are you ok” Paige nodded “Yes I am tired and achy but ok.” Piper nodded “Ok I am going to be down stairs and if something scares you or you feel something is off you call me got it” Paige nodded. “Ok” Piper helped Paige back down. She planed a kiss on her head and was about to leave when Paige grabbed her and pulled her back down so she could re turn the kiss to Piper’s cheek. “Thanks for taking care of me” Piper smiled “Anytime now I am going to be right down stairs” Paige nodded and closed her eyes. Piper got off her bed and stood in her doorframe taking a few deep breaths and watched as Paige’s breath slowed down a little bit.
She made her way back down to the kitchen to find it empty “Ok it was just my mind making things up” Piper said happily until she noticed her coffee cup in the sink. She then heard the discovery channel on the living room. “I am not making this up” Piper said moving her way to the living room. She joined the figure on the couch “Hi” The person said sweetly. “Hi” Piper then burst into tears.
“Why are you here do you want me to relive the pain I had when I lost you” “PIPER” Paige yelled from the top of the stairs. “One minute sweetheart” Piper yelled back up the stairs. “What about her what is you doing here going to do to her?” “I know your mad Piper…” “Damn straight I am mad you left me. If it were not for that girl up stairs this family would be broken she saved us.” “I didn’t want to leave you Piper” “Prue why are you here” “Piper please” Paige yelled again. Piper sighed “I coming squirt” she had no idea why but her protective mode was on. She needed to check on Paige. She got up and started to head for the stairs only to have Prue follow. “Whoa where are you going?” Piper said turning around to stop her. Prue sighed “Piper please don’t be like this. I didn’t want to leave you I didn’t honest” Piper sighed and for the first time she locked her eyes with Prue’s Ice blue ones. “It hurt so bad Prue” Prue nodded and pulled Piper into her arms. “I love you” Piper sniffed “I love you too” Prue held her face in her hands and used her thumbs to wipe away the salty tears. “We will talk in a little bit but I believe someone is calling you” Piper nodded “Paige honey I am coming” Piper said starting up the stairs. Prue followed her up the stairs. Piper stopped her. “Whoa where are you going” Prue used her eyes to point in there. “Paige is sick” Prue shrugged her shoulders. “Prue you have never met her” Prue shrugged again. Piper sighed. “Prue she is a little bitter right now” Prue nodded and Piper took a deep breath and opened her door to find Paige sitting oh her bed with tears streaming down her cheeks. Her red blonde hair was damp and sticking to her face. She looked so defeated. “Piper I HURT” she wailed when she noticed her big sister come in the room. She was about to say something else but stopped when she realized it was not just Piper coming in the room. She locked eyes with Piper. “And I am seeing things” She wailed. Piper gave a slight chuckle. “Shh don’t cry honey it’s not going to do you any good” Piper crawled on the bed and placed her hand on Piper’s forehead. “Oh god Paige you are burning up” Paige nodded “I know and I think I see our dead sister standing in this room” Piper grabbed Paige’s chin and made her look at her. “I don’t know why or what or how but you are not seeing things Prue is standing there” Paige blushed and pulled the blankets over her head. “Piper I look horrible” Piper snickered “You see what I deal with?” Piper said diving under the covers to un burry her sister. “Come on Paige worry about that latter let’s get you fixed up ok or at least comfortable. Piper managed to get the blankets off of Paige’s head. “Paige do not put blankets over your head. Prue go into the bathroom and grab the thermometer it’s in the same place” Prue nodded and ran out of the room. Paige shook her head “Why is she here” Piper shrugged “I have no idea she has not had time” Paige nodded. Piper could see the tears pricking at her eyes. “You feel so horrible don’t you” Paige nodded. Piper sighed “Paige I wish you had come to me when you started feeling sick I could have helped you rest.” Paige shrugged. Prue returned seconds later with the thermometer and a damp cloth. She handed the things to Piper. Piper moved Paige’s sticky hair away from her ear with in a minutes she had Paige’s fever on the thermometer. “Oh Paige” Prue leaned over and looked at it. “Wow that’s not good” Piper shook her head. “Should I take her to the hospital” Paige shook her head. “No you should not I hate that place” Prue snickered “What Halliwell does” “I am a Mathews” Paige growled at her. “Whoa Paige back the temper off a little” Piper warned. “Ok here is what we do we get her into a cool bath and clean pjs then we cover her in that cream have her drink a cup of tea with a fever reducer” Prue started to bark orders. Piper nodded “Good idea Prue you always run the best baths will you it” Prue nodded and left the room.
Paige shook her head. “Should we worry about her being here” “Maybe later first I am more worried about you your fever is high” Paige groaned “Believe me I know I feel like Sh..” “Don’t finish that sentence Prue’s not to big on the younger sister’s swearing” Paige scrunched up her nose “Does she really get a say with me” Piper shrugged “I don’t know but I DO” “Right point taken”
Two hours later Piper and Prue managed to get Paige bathed changed and back in bed. Now they were sitting at the kitchen table eating Prue’s famous sandwiches Piper could never figure exactly how she made them so good. Of course it was the only thing she could make.
“Prue your not hear to replace Paige are you? Her being sick she’s not going to die” Prue shook her head. “No at least I don’t think so. But I am here because of Paige and you” Piper nodded “How long are you here for” Prue shrugged “A week I am going to try and make it longer but I have a week” Piper sighed “That’s not enough Prue do you know how hard it was for me to move on? What about Phoebe Prue she’s not here” “I saw Phoebe I spent the last two days with her. She’s ok she wants me to be here with Paige and you. Oh and by the way you have the best looking baby” Piper smiled “Thanks so you have seen him” Prue nodded “I see him all the time actually” Piper’s jaw dropped “You do how” Prue bit her lip. “Well when all those elders died I got promoted to um well an elder” Piper shook her head. “This is crazy” Prue nodded “Yes but I am changing all those dumb rules we hated” Piper nodded “That’s good were you a white lighter” Prue nodded “Yes for a little while I worked with witches just coming into the their powers” Piper rubbed her temples “Why did you never come to me” Prue got up and went and pulled Piper up then sat back down and pulled her to her lap. “I wanted to honey and I checked on you all the time and I have been with you a lot but I was not aloud to talk to you” Piper let out a sob. “One of those stupid rules huh” Prue kissed her temples a couple of times. When Piper was little that was the only way to calm her down Phoebe needed her back rubbed usually with finger tips on her spine. Prue didn’t know how to calm Paige down. Piper calmed down a bit. “You know you have not actually said Hi to Paige” Prue nodded “I know I am thinking I will talk to her later” “She looks up to you Prue she always talks to you and for awhile she felt as if she had to fill your shoes”
“I wish she hadn’t felt that way” Prue sadly “But I have heard her conversations to me. Where ever I could hear her. I could hear you all”
Piper got off of Prue’s lap and went back down to her seat. A few minutes later Paige joined them she did something she had never done before she went over and crawled on to Piper’s lap. “Hi Missy Paige I thought I told you to call me if you needed something” Paige nodded “I was lonely” Piper smiled. “I am sorry you feeling any better” Paige nodded “A tiny bit not as hot or sore Grams had some mean potions” Piper giggled. Prue got up and went and knelt in front of Piper and Paige. “Hi Paige I am Prue” “Yeah I figured” Paige said receiving a painful swat on her thigh. “Owwie Piper I was just joking with her. I know that you are Prue and I know you know I am Paige but it is nice to meet you. But what are you doing here” Prue bit her lip it took her everything she had not to laugh. Paige was like Piper and herself mixed together it was scary. “I am here for you and Piper and I will tell you more after you go and rest for a little while longer” Piper nodded “I agree sweetie go upstairs I’ll be up in ten and I’ll lie down with you for awhile.” Paige nodded and went back up stairs. “Prue you can lie down with us too” Prue smiled “I’d love too”
Paige lay upstairs waiting for Piper. She could not believe Prue was down stairs. She had a chance to get to know her and she didn’t know how she for the first time was really scared. Because she had a chance to get to know her biggest role model and she was shy around her. She heard Piper coming she wanted to crawl into Piper’s arms and cry.
Piper joined her on the bed and lay behind her with her arms wrapped around her. She could just tell that Paige needed some cuddle time. Prue joined them a few minutes later. She did the same thing behind Piper. Piper ran her fingers through Paige’s hair. While Paige let the silent tears stream down her cheeks. She couldn’t figure out why she was crying for like the hundredth time that day. She just let the tears fall until she fell asleep.

Paige woke up a few hours later to the feeling of someone running fingers through her hair. She figured that it was just Piper considering Piper had been lying behind her. But when she turned over she gasped when she became face to face with Prue. She sat up. “Where is Piper” “She’s down stairs making dinner. “How are you feeling” Paige shrugged and moved away from Prue. She felt nervous and shy. “I am going to go down stairs with my sister” Paige said. Prue sat up and nodded “Ok but Paige you know I am your sister too” Paige nodded “But I don’t know you” Paige mumbled leaving the room holding her head. She could feel it throbbing but she did not want to be alone with Prue. She was scared of her. Not that she would hurt her but she would make her hate her. She was also worried that Piper would stop paying attention to her and get her mind set back around Prue and totally forget that Paige was there. Maybe go back to wanting it to be just the three of them where Paige did not fit.
By the time Paige got into the kitchen she had warm tears running down her already hot cheeks. Piper heard her come into the kitchen with out even looking up. “Paige what are you doing up?” “How did you know it was me you didn’t even look up” Piper looked up from cutting up meat and gave a sly smile. “Sisterly ways” But she stopped smiling when she saw the tears. She quickly rinsed her hands off and went over to Paige. “Paige why are you crying” Paige shook her head. Piper sighed “Paige I think you should be in bed” “I don’t have a bed here anymore you gave my room to Wyatt” Paige whined. Piper tried not smile “Babes I told you could have it back anytime you wanted it. Besides you have my bed” Paige shook her head. “No Prue is up there” Piper nodded “I see and Prue has germs right”
“I didn’t say that it’s just I can’t lie in the same bed with someone I don’t know” “Paige Prue is not going to hurt you” “I never said she WAS” Paige practically yelled the last part. “Whoa Paige watch your tone with me please” “Why should I?” Paige said stubbornly before leaving the room. “Prue you can come in now” Piper said sighing and going back to cutting her chicken. “How did you know I was standing there” Piper gave a slight smile. “Sisterly instincts” Prue nodded and scratched right above her mole on her cheek. “Um so what should I do about her? She hates me?” Piper bit her lip. “No Prue she does not hate you she is just confused. Not that I blame her Prue I am confused you just show up from the dead. All though you weren’t fully dead I guess considering you are now an ELDER the people we hate. She doesn’t know you she has only heard nothing about how great you were and how you were a super witch even freaking demons bragged about how great you are. She also knows that she was here to replace the power of three which means taking your place and that’s a HUGE place to fill not that Phoebe or I wanted her to be you we wanted her to be her. But it didn’t matter to her she felt that she had to live up to you and your glory and now you are here. She probably feels hell of threatened right now” Piper ranted. Prue nodded. “I know this Piper I do. I don’t want her to feel that way. I am not here to make her feel bad. I am here because the two of you need me. I am here for me too I never got the chance to baby my youngest sister and that drove me nuts up there and now here is my chance and I could not be happier” Piper sighed. “Why do you keep saying that we need you? I thought we were doing fine on our own. Paige and I managed to keep this family together. No help from Phoebe though. Who tried to ruin it by marrying a demon and becoming evil herself then falling for guy after guy and getting hurt each time. So why are you not here for her?” Prue rolled her eyes. “Phoebe did just fine you helped her more then she will let on. She looks up to you Piper and she listens to you and she may have gone a little over board at one time becoming evil but she has herself back on track and I am totally proud of her” “So what are you saying your not proud of Paige or I?” Piper asked defensively. Prue shook her head. “No I am very proud of you Piper. You still have a hot club and a beautiful son and you are taking excellent care of this family” Piper put her hands on her hips and glared at Prue. “Are you telling me you are not proud of Paige” Piper said in an even more defensive tone. Prue smiled. Piper defiantly had the mother bear tone down. “No Piper relax I am proud of her too. She handled coming into her powers and coming into a new family very well better then anyone else would have done” Prue said sitting down at the table. Piper nodded “Ok so you are proud of us then why? Why are you here? Why do Paige and I need you so bad?” “Yeah why” Paige said entering the kitchen grabbing a water bottle out of the fridge before moving over to stand by Piper as Piper tossed the chicken in the pot. “I am making you chicken noodle soup” Piper said before turning her attention back to Prue. Prue took a deep breath. “I am here for some seriously bonding time and relationship building” Piper and Paige exchanged a confused look and then turned their focus back on Prue. “Look the elders think that Paige should get a chance to know me. We also know that things have been uneasy around here for the two of you. You two hold the beginning of a very special relationship.” Prue nodded “Something very few sister’s share. I had it with Phoebe and Piper and Piper and I had a different one that was special but a different special” Paige raised her eye brow and Piper shook her head. “Why don’t we talk more about this after dinner and you can just how special these relationships are” Piper said in a cold voice. Paige’s eyes got big. Her big sister was PISSED off.
Dinner was very quiet. Expect for Piper coaxing Paige to eat more at times their was not conversations. When dinner was done Piper sent Paige back to bed. “We will all talk in my room ok honey but I want you in bed” Paige knew better then to argue with Piper when she was in that mood. So she quickly put her dish in the sink before making a quiet exit.
Prue waited until she was gone before she started to lecture Piper. “What is wrong with you? Why are you acting like a total brat? Where is my Piper” “Your Piper died with you” Piper said harshly. “Oh so we are back to that again” Prue groaned. “I never left it” Piper huffed. “And what’s this you and Phoebe had a special relationship was I not good enough to you” Prue shook her head. “Piper you were no are my best friend there is no one else on this earth I trust as much as I do you” Piper looked ready to cry. “Piper don’t look so hurt you know I love you” Piper nodded “I do but…” “PIPER” Paige screamed from upstairs. She sounded horrible. Piper raced up the stairs to find Paige curled up on the ground near her bed bawling. Blood was dripping down her face. “Oh my god Paige what happened” “Nose bleed just started Piper I feel so yucky” Piper turned green at all of the blood coming from her sister’s nose. “PRUE” she called. Piper was used to seeing blood but every once in awhile it still got to her”
Prue was up in seconds. “Whoa” was all she could say before taking over. She grabbed Paige and got her out of the room. She could tell Piper’s stomach churning. She knew Piper needed a break. Prue set Paige on the toilet and her pinch her nose. After ten minutes Prue got her nose to stop bleeding she helped her take a quick bath and changed her. “If I felt better I would be embarrassed to let you see me naked or like this” Prue rolled her eyes. “You aint got nothing I haven’t seen before kid” Paige blushed but let Prue guide her back to Piper’s room. Piper had everything cleaned up and held her arms open to Paige who crawled into them. She closed her eyes. “Piper I feel yucky” Piper laid her down and got all sorted. “Come on Prue lets go to bed I am wiped.” Prue nodded and changed into a pair of Piper’s Pj’s they both crawled into bed and Prue watched as Piper ran her fingers through Paige’s wet hair. “What do you feel when you do that” Prue asked quietly. “Like I am calming her down and myself like by doing it helps her feel better”
Prue started doing the same thing to Piper’s hair. “Ever want to protect her from the world by locking her in her room and throwing away the key” Piper nodded “ALL the time. She is so carefree and stubborn headed she is always rushing off to fight some demon by herself and she is going to end up dead. I could not handle that I love her so much” Prue took a deep breath. “Right and do you feel the same way with Wyatt” “Yes Prue he is my son I want him safe.” “Piper honey you look at Paige as your baby honey someone you are to protect and keep safe. Remember how mad you were at her when she used her own life to save that guy” “Wow you knew about that”
“OF course I knew about that honey I watch over you all of the time I have to know my girls are safe and happy” “We are Prue and yes I was mad at her she could have died. I can not loose another sister” Prue closed her eyes. “Piper are you following what I am saying” “Yes Prue I do. Let’s talk more in the morning I am tired and I have a feeling that Paige will be waking up at least twice in the night”
Prue closed her eyes. She felt she was not getting anywhere with Piper and now she got to look forward to getting up with Paige in the middle of the night.

Piper was right about Paige being up in the middle of the night. How ever she was wrong about it being twice. Paige woke up every hour on the hour crying. She felt horrible. Prue and Piper worked on getting her fever down and it would go down it would just not stay there it would go back up ever few hours. The higher it was the grumpier she got. She would whine and cry. Piper was starting to worry now. Even Prue was getting nervous. “Maybe I should take her to the ER now” Piper said right after she got Paige to sleep again after a crying fit. Prue nodded “Yeah I am thinking so” Piper got up and threw on hew sweats. “You coming with me” Piper asked. Prue shrugged “I don’t know honey what if someone sees me everyone thinks I am dead remember” “Yeah all to clearly but Prue that doctor died too” Prue giggled “That’s not what I meant.” Prue took a deep breath. “Paige do you know that I can hear you every time you talked to me” Paige blushed she had said some pretty personal stuff to her. Never thinking it would ever get back to her. “It’s ok Paige. I loved hearing you talk to me and I know how mad Piper was and how hurt Phoebe was and how scared you were.” Paige nodded. “I also know how mad you right now too. I know that you are struggling with watching Piper raise Wyatt.” Paige shook her head. “No I am not mad” Prue raised her eye brow. “Paige another thing about me you should no I always know when one of my sister’s is lying” Paige bit her lip. “Not mad upset” “Right you think that mom could have raised you” Paige nodded “She could of have but she didn’t want to because she was a QUITER afraid of her own SHADOW” Paige screamed falling back and coughing some. Prue nodded “Maybe she was but I thought you loved your parents” “I did but if I had never known them I wouldn’t have missed them. I lost my whole childhood time with Piper and Phoebe. I don’t get to be a part of their private jokes or old memories. I am only present in this family cause they need me to live” Prue nodded “That is true but not because of our powers because Piper is attached to you. She let her guard down and let you in. She loves you kiddo and that is not going to change sweet heart.” “Ok so she loves me big deal it still does not explain why my mother thought she couldn’t raise me when her daughter is doing the exact same thing NOW” Prue sighed. “This was like to talking to Phoebe as a teenager all over again. “PAIGE I DON’T KNOW WHY MOM COPPED OUT” Prue yelled back. “But I do know that Piper wants you in her life and she loves you and she needs you around to help with Wyatt and you need to be around to get the memories and attention you should have gotten as a child. That is why I am here Paige is to spend time with you. So you can feel complete in this family and have memories of me and know my love for you is stronger then air I breathe” Paige finally burst into tears and let Prue hug her. “Shh it’s ok honey let out the tears it’s ok”
Piper returned an hour later with Ava to find Prue and Paige sound asleep with Paige resting on Prue’s chest. Ava smiled. “Cute” Piper nodded “That’s the first she has slept in a long time” Ava moved over and put her hand on her fore head. “Dang she is hot” Piper nodded “I know I have done everything I can to get her fever down” Ava nodded and woke Paige up. She had her strip to her under ware so she could look her over. She spotted it ten minutes into looking at her. Paige had an infection under a band aid. “Whoa when did this happen” Paige looked at her arm. “Last week when Piper and I were fighting demons” Ava nodded Piper looked at “I cleaned that wound out myself” Ava nodded “I am sure you did infections can still happen even after a wound is cleaned. I am just glad I got to her when I did. Cause this could have gotten worse and taken her life but I can clean it up now and give her medication to counter act the infection” Piper let out the breath she didn’t even know she was holding. “Thank you Ava” Paige nodded “Thanks Ava” Ava got out her medical bag and began to work her own magic on Paige.
By the time Ava was ready to leave Paige was sound asleep. She left Piper with medication to keep Paige on for the next two weeks and if she got worse or didn’t get better she had strict orders to see her again. Prue drove Ava home leaving some time for Paige and Piper just to sleep next to each other.
The week went by all to fast for Piper and Paige they loved spending time with Prue but when she left this time they had a peace of mind feeling. Paige had memories of her big sister and Piper got to say all she wanted to Prue. She also knew that Prue was watching over them. Prue also promised that now she was an elder things would be different and they might see her a little more often.
