"Guys, I'm home!" Piper called out as she came in the manor's door. She shrugged off her coat.
"Phoebe? Paige? Anybody home?" Piper walked into the kitchen and glanced around.
"Guess not." She walked over to the fridge and on the way spotted a note on the table.

Piper-
Hey sweetie, Paige and I have dates tonight, so we'll be out 'till late. I hope you have a great night.
Love, Phoebe

Piper set the note down and sighed.
"Yeah, a real good night--alone. But I'm glad Phoebe and Paige are going out--they could use a break." Piper said to herself. Piper flopped down onto the couch and flipped on the television. Nothing was on. She turned off the television and lay on the couch with her eyes closed. She kicked off her shoes and grabbed a blanket. Thinking about her sisters on their dates made Piper think of her love life. Or her lack of one. Piper let her mind drift to Leo. She sighed. She hadn't allowed herself to think about Leo in awhile. 'Where did we go wrong, Leo?' Piper thought to herself. She and Leo had been married a year ago for six months. They had been so in love. It was wonderful, those first few months. Piper frowned. She knew where it had went wrong. It was his work--and hers. He was always being called away, and she and her sisters had had a surplus amount of demons then. They never saw each other and when they did, they argued. That's when it ended. Now, they'd been divorced two months and she hadn't seen him since, they were assingned a new whitelighter. Piper stood up and walked to the dining room table. She grabbed a piece of paper and started to write....

Dear Leo,
I know it's been a long time since we've spoken but I had to tell you something. I miss you. I haven't allowed myself to think about you in awhile and tonight I did. I thought about where we went wrong, and I realize that it makes more sense if we're apart, but I can't ignore what I feel. Leo, I need you and I wish we could work it out. I love you.

Leo glanced upward and ignored the Elders' call. He sat at his table and put his head in his hands. He sighed loudly and let his mind drift back to Piper. He thought about her everyday and wished he could see her. But he knew that was impossible. He had left Piper because they didn't have time for anything except work--not because they had fallen out of love. The Elders kept calling him whenever he was with Piper and he always went.
"Well, screw them." Leo muttered. He grabbed some paper and began writing....

Piper,
I was sitting alone today and I thought about you again. I think about you all the time and I needed to tell you. Piper, I made a mistake. Leaving you was the stupidest thing I ever did. I let the Elders control everything I did and I can't live without you anymore. I need you Piper, and I love you, always. We are meant to be together.
Leo

Piper looked at the letter she had just written. She grabbed an envelope and sealed it up. She wrote Leo's name on the front and held the note. She wanted so badly to give it to him, to start over and love each other again. Piper dropped the letter in the trash and sighed. As much as she loved Leo, she knew it wasn't fair to ask him to stop his life and come back to her. Some things just weren't meant to be....

Leo took his letter and held it in his hands. He put on his jacket and set off to the manor. Whenhe got there, he hesitated. The house looked quiet, empty even. She must not be home, he thought. He looked back at the manor and dropped the letter, the wind picking it up and carrying it away. Leo turned and walked away, leaving that part of his life behind. Some things just weren't meant to be....
