The hours, the days, the weeks, they all seemed to mould into one. She’d lost all concept of time. Life seemed to have come to a complete standstill, since the one man she had truly loved, the only man she believed she ever would was torn from her, taken from this world before his time. Her heart ached whenever she thought of him, and he was never out of her mind. Where had it all gone so wrong?

All alone, staring on,
Watching her life go by
When her days are grey
And her nights are black
Different shades of mundane
And the one eyed furry toy
That lies upon her bed
Has often heard her cry
And heard her whisper out a name
Long forgiven, but not forgotten

Prue sat on the window seat, she watched cars go past, she watched people walking by, laughing and talking as they went. She saw Phoebe leave the house, a new guy in tow. As glad as she was to see her baby sister looking so happy, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. She wanted that feeling, she wanted to be the one heading out on a date, she wanted it, but knew she’d never again have it. The only person she wanted, the one she needed, was the man she couldn’t have. Andy was gone, forever. Prue found this impossible to accept. The mere thought of never seeing him again, of him never kissing her again, was killing her.
The shining sun caused her to squint, standing up slowly she closed the blinds, not able to bare the brightness, not when she was feeling so horrible. As she turned, wrapping her arms around herself, the tears flowing freely down her face, her eye caught sight of a teddy. It sat on her bed, just as it had since she was fourteen, since the very first time Andy had kissed her. Prue ran to the bed, letting herself collapse onto it as she scooped the furry bear into her arms, clinging tightly to it, as if letting it go was letting Andy go, something she wasn’t yet ready to do, she didn’t think she ever would be. As her tears soaked the teddy her mind wandered back to her fourteenth birthday party, the day her relationship with Andy had changed forever.
Having been best friends all through their childhood, no one was surprised when Prue and Andy took the relationship to the next step, no one that was except Prue. She had innocently kissed him, thanking him for the present, but as she did he kissed her with more passion taking her by surprise. She remembered her shocked reaction, her fear of losing her best friend. But they’d taken that risk and enjoyed so many happy years as a couple. As the memory faded and reality set in once again, she found herself calling out for him, calling out for someone she knew would never answer.

A bleeding heart, torn apart
Left on an icy grave
In the room where they once lay
Face to face
Nothing could get in their way
But now the memories of the man
Are haunting her days
And the craving never fades
She’s still dreaming of the man
Long forgiven, but not forgotten

Another memory filled Prue’s thoughts, as she lay clutching the bear to her heart. Her last memory of Andy, the one she knew she’d never forget, not for as long as she lived. The funeral, the day had gone by in a daze, the nice weather had been lost on her, As she shivered by his graveside. She laid the rose on his coffin, crying desperately, longing to turn back time, just once again. One more time and all of this could have been adverted, she could still have the man she loved with her, she could still have a chance at happiness with him. She silently cursed herself for not telling him her secret sooner, for not giving him the chance to accept it, maybe if he’d had longer, had more time to come to terms with her being a witch, with her destiny, he could have accepted it, accepter her for who she was. They could have made it work; Prue didn’t doubt this for a second. She had discovered her soul mate, it had just taken her too long to realise this, and now he was gone forever, she’d be alone for the rest of her life.
She opened her eyes, staring at the space on front of her, convinced she was staring into his deep loving eyes. But she blinked and he was gone. Prue’s body shook with the sobs. She wanted and needed him, she wouldn’t be happy until she could be with him again, until she could lie next to him, feel his arms around her, rest her head on his chest and feel the rise and fall of his heart beating. It was a fantasy, his heart would never beat again, and she’d never feel him beside her. She closed her eyes, losing herself in the dream.

Still alone, staring on
Wishing her life goodbye
As she goes searching for the man
Long forgiven, but not forgotten

Tossing and turning through another nightmare, one that was actually a reality, Life without Andy, Prue awoke, gasping for breath. Reliving the last moments she had with him was breaking her heart into millions of pieces. What could she have done differently? How could she have changed it, saved him? She opened her eyes, blinking back the tears. In her still exhausted state she felt around her, reaching for someone who deep inside she knew wasn’t there. But she couldn’t let go of the hope, she needed to believe that one day when she reached for him, he’d be there, ready to assure her it was all one big horrible nightmare. Prue closed her eyes, concentrating her energy on seeing Andy, it was the only way she could now. She drifted into a fitful slumber, reliving the past in her dreams, the past she longed to change.
The tears rolled freely down Prue’s face as she slept. The day in the park haunting her subconscious, a conversation she’d never forget, words from him forever etched in her memory. His reaction when she told him about Phoebe’s premonition played in her dreams, she watched as though from a distance
“Has Phoebe ever been wrong about her premonitions before?”
“No, but the good news is every other time we’ve been able to affect the outcome. Stop the demon or warlock before….”
“Before I get killed. Can I get that in writing?”
“Andy, you just have to be extra careful until we figure out who this demon is, ok?”
“You weren’t careful though, were you Andy?” Prue whispered more to herself than anyone as she desperately tried to get back to sleep, searching for a better memory. Clinging tightly to the bear, drying her tears inn its fur. The same conversation took over again.
“No, you can’t be there Andy, that’s where you were in Phoebe’s premonition, when…just promise you’ll stay away”
“I can’t do that Prue”
“I mean it, don’t make me use my magic on you.” She smiled at him, then turned serious again “I don’t want anything to happen to you Andy, You know how much I care for you”
“Okay I promise”
“But you broke your promise Andy” She sat up, pulling her knees up to her
Chest and rocked herself back and forth, crying for the death she couldn’t stop, the innocent she couldn’t save. The man she loved! Her mind focused on another dream she’d had of him. The last time she’d spoken to him, it was more than a dream; she knew that, it was his way of saying goodbye. But Prue wasn’t ready to say goodbye, she couldn’t.
“Andy? What's going on? Where are we?” Prue asked, confused
“I'm not quite sure really. I hoped I'd end up here, but not so soon. One thing I do know is that I'm staying. You're not.”
“I don't understand”
“I broke your promise, Prue. I came to your house tonight. Turns out Phoebe's premonition was one you couldn't stop after all. Weren't supposed to stop.”
“Wait a minute, Andy, no.” She suddenly understood what he meant
“It's okay, Prue, really, trust me. This is my destiny. I know that now. Yours is to continue on. Everything happens for a reason, remember you taught me that.” Andy sounded calm
“This isn't fair.”
“You need to go back. You need to keep the time loop from being reset again or you and your sisters will be killed. And I will have died in vein.”
“I'll kill Rodriguez for this.”
“No you won't. You're not a murderer, Prue, you're a good person who does good things.”
“I don't wanna lose you.”
“Don't worry. You won't.” They kissed, one final time “I'll always be there for you, Prue”
“Are you here now Andy” Prue looked around, feeling strangely calm. It was as though she could feel his presence near her. She knew he was watching her, still looking out for her and protecting her, just as he did when he was alive.

“PRUE” Phoebe called out desperately to her sister. Prue wiped the last of her tears away as she realised her sisters were having demon problems. She’d cut herself of from her magic, not wanting anything to do with it after Andy’s death. Her sisters had respected that, so by them calling for her she knew they needed the power of three. She stood up; she owed it to Andy to fight. Her sisters needed her and she needed them.
“I love you Andy” She whispered as she kissed the teddy and placed it on her bed, pausing for a moment before making her way to the attic. She could have sworn she heard him whispering back to her.
the end!
