NOTE: I finally got my stories organized for posting! This one is my latest…for now…It comes after 'Different Worlds----I think! Anyway, it’s a really mushy story and believe it or not this isn't about Piper and Leo! It's the kind of stories with literally all my idealistic scenes have been fitted in. That's why it's so long!! So anyone who's already disgusted better get outta here! Just wanna apologize that my main focus is on Phoebe and Kevin, so I basically wave aside the others' relationships. Piper and Leo are not married YET. Phoebe and Kevin are as great as ever! And Prue has finally hooked up with Bane, who has been released from prison. I dunno why but in the beginning I've got this major thing for turtlenecks! LOL!!

Phoebe opened the front door of the manor and let herself in quietly. "Sisters, are you home?" she called out. "Kitchen," Prue and Piper chorused. Phoebe smiled as she made her way into the kitchen and sat down with a tired sigh. "You look worn out!" Prue commented. "No kidding!" Phoebe responded dryly, "Considering I've been on my feet for the past 12 hours, what do you expect?" Phoebe was now a specialized doctor at San Francisco Memorial and had a busy life, worrying about life and death officially and secretly as a Charmed One. Still, she took it in her stride without much complaining. "You really ought to slow down. It's bad enough we have to worry about innocents being harassed supernaturally, but you have to worry about them on a daily basis of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," Piper began. "6 days," Phoebe argued weakly. She was beginning to get a lot of this from both her sisters, but she knew it was only because they cared. Prue shot her a look and Phoebe sighed resignedly, wishing the subject to be changed. As if on cue, Leo orbed in. "Pleasure," he said, before they even had a chance to ask why he was here. "You're definitely an angel," Phoebe said thankfully, glad he had popped in when he did. Leo raised his brows questioningly, as he kissed Piper. Phoebe grinned slightly as she started for the stairs. "Oh, Pheebs," Piper protested, knowing her sister had already disappeared. "We were trying to talk her into taking things easy from work. She's been working too hard. When we have a demon problem, she's up half the night, and when we don't, she's not even at home," Prue explained. "Oh, right. Don't worry, Prue, Phoebe knows how to take care of herself," Leo assured. Prue opened her mouth to protest. "If Phoebe becomes a workaholic, we'll know that she's been possessed by a demon for sure," he added with a grin. "That's true," Prue admitted. "Besides, I'm sure Kevin couldn't live without seeing her for a while and vice versa," Piper agreed.

Almost half an hour later, Phoebe came back down wearing blue jeans with a gray turtleneck over it. "Going somewhere?" Piper asked curiously. "Just a movie with a special someone," Phoebe replied with gentle smile, just as the doorbell rang. "See you guys later," Phoebe said. "You mean tomorrow or the day after," Prue grumbled. She missed having her baby sister home to fuss over. But her little baby was now a grown up woman and Prue was secretly very proud of her, but there were times she wished Phoebe were her little girl again. Piper felt almost the same way as Prue did, except she felt something more, and it wasn't just because they were closer. Phoebe was her baby too, but she was always her best friend and confidante. She missed having her baby sister be there when she came home, or the times when the sisters tended bar together at P3. Phoebe didn't have so much time on her hands anymore, and even when she did, she usually spent it with her long-time, since college, boyfriend, Kevin Parker. Kevin was an incredibly cute, smart and funny software engineer, who was running his own successful software company. But the best part of it all was that he too was a witch with the power of Summoning. Piper sighed silently. She almost wished that Phoebe were still her baby girl who was at home after school, waiting for them with a wonderful smile that hardly ever left her face and always brightening up their day. She was proud of her sister. They all knew Phoebe had a big heart, and they couldn't help thinking how lucky the people she worked with were. She was more than just a professional was she really took her job to heart and many of her patients regarded her as almost a friend.
Leo watched as the two sisters spaced out, each indulging in their secret thoughts, and smiled slightly. 'These two are desperate mother hens,' he thought lovingly, but he knew that even he was over-protective when it came to Phoebe. They had to realize that she was growing up, she had already been through so much, but she still had that innocent and mischief-filled glint in her eyes.

As the oldest Haliwells and whitelighter continued to drown in thoughts, the subject of their minds was having quality time with her boyfriend. Kevin was paying more attention to Phoebe than to the movie. He'd seen this movie quite a few times, but he knew how much Phoebe loved it. Phoebe just stared transfixed at the screen as the scenes of 'Kill It before It Dies' played. When the movie was over and the credits began to roll by, Kevin got her attention and they stood up to leave. They made their way to the nearby coffee house and ordered. "Pheebs, You think you can get a couple of days off?" he asked hopefully. Phoebe turned her gaze towards him curiously. "Probably. Why?" "Do you get seasick?" he questioned, trying to keep a straight face. Phoebe shook her head, confused. "No." Kevin smiled broadly. "How would you like to accompany me on a cruise and the beach for a fortnight?" Phoebe nearly choked on her coffee. "From the 7th to the 21st of this month. It's a romantic getaway with all the stuff in the movies. It's a Valentine promo and one of my friends said he could get us tickets and arrange everything," he went on explaining. Phoebe just stared at him. "Whoa! This is wonderful! I don't know what to say," Phoebe said. "Don't say anything," Kevin told her, leaning across the table to kiss her.

The next morning when Prue and Piper came downstairs, Phoebe had already left for the hospital. "Morning. Where's Leo?" Prue greeted her sister. "He had to go early this morning," Piper replied, as she caught sight of two envelopes and a note pinned to the fridge. Raising her eyebrows, she retrieved them and eyed the envelopes. One had her name written on the front and the other had Prue's. The neat script was definitely not their little sister's writing. She handed one to Prue who took it curiously as they exchanged glances. Prue picked up the note and read it aloud.
Hey Guys,
Funny how this is the way I communicate with you now. Sorry bout it. Anyway, the envelopes contain a form for the Valentine's Cruise and beach thingie that was all over the papers. Kevin managed to get the two of us tickets for it. The offer's open to you guys too, just sign the forms and give it to Kevin today so that he can make the arrangements. Hope you can take time off. It'll be fun, and maybe we can catch up on the sisterly bonding we've missed for over a month, especially as it was totally my fault. Try and drag Bane and Leo along too. Well, let me know what u decide. Love u,
Pheebs.

About an hour later, Prue and Piper were in an elevator of a large building. Stepping out on their floor, they made their way to the receptionist's desk. "Kevin Parker," Prue inquired. "And you are?" the receptionist questioned politely. "Prue, Piper." The sisters turned to find Kevin standing outside the door to his office. Prue had to admit he looked good in his official tie and coat. "Kevin, hi," Piper responded. "Come on in," he invited, opening the door and leading the way. The receptionist smiled slightly. "Oh, I'm sorry. You must be Prue and Piper Haliwell, Phoebe's sisters?" Prue and Piper gave her a smile before they went in to Kevin's office. He was sitting on the edge of his desk. The sisters glanced around the large room which was luxuriously furnished, clearly indicating how successful the company was. Phoebe sure knew how to pick her men. Piper smiled to herself as her eyes fell upon a framed photograph of Kevin and her younger sister. It was obvious he loved her very much and cared for her deeply. "I'm hoping this is a yes to the invitation," he said quietly, smiling. "Since you insist, yes it is," Prue returned lightly. The more she got to know Kevin, the more she thought he was perfect for Phoebe. They were so much alike. The incredible deep brown eyes that always had that mischievous sparkle and the annoying sense of humor. "That's great! I'll get the arrangements organized today," he promised enthusiastically. "How did you pull it off?" Prue asked, trying to sound suspicious. Kevin grinned. "I didn't threaten anyone, don't worry. I have a pal who owes me a favor and he works with the Cruise Liner Company." "Thanks Kevin. We really appreciate it," Piper told him. Kevin's eyes sparkled even more as he stood up and opened one of his drawers. "It's not totally selfless. I've got to score points with you two, before I can marry your little sister, don't I?" Saying that, he withdrew a soft velvet box and opened it to them, revealing a beautifully, handcrafted silver, diamond and golden ring. Prue and Piper gasped in awe. "What do you think?" he asked. "You're asking us?" Piper raised her eyebrows. "You're the next best thing without asking Phoebe herself." "It's beautiful," Prue offered, before continuing. "So, you plan on proposing on the cruise, huh?" Kevin nodded slightly. "It leaves time together as well. It's been a while since we've had a no worries date, if you know what I mean," he explained. Prue and Piper's expressions fell. "Was it something I said?" Kevin questioned, seeing their faces. Piper shook her head, looking down at her feet. "Well…its just that you at least get to spend time with her," she began. "So that's what's going on," Kevin broke in. Prue and Piper looked at him. "I was wondering why all 3 of you were sorta moping around lately." "Just us," Prue said quietly. Kevin sighed. "I'm sure Phoebe misses it too," he countered. Piper bit her lip. Kevin sighed again. "Look guys, I know things haven't been much the same lately as sisters, but it hasn't for me and Phoebe either. Why don't you just tell her that you just miss having her around instead of getting on her case for working too much," he suggested. Prue jerked her head in surprise. "She told you?" Kevin shook his head. "Being an only child, when I first left for college and then work, my parents used to fuss over me just as much as you do over Phoebe." He looked up at Prue. "It's great to be the baby at home with the people you love, but as hard as it is, you also want to break free and lead your own life. Just because Phoebe's busy with other things doesn't mean she loves you any less. It hurts, I guess. But we all know how big Phoebe's heart is. She has room for a lot of people, but you two mean more to her than life itself. You know that, just…you have to learn to let go of the fact that she's no longer a little kid. She's a young, beautiful and wonderful woman, who happens to make my heart skip a beat every time I see her, and you two have everything to do with that," he told them earnestly. Piper threw up her hands in surrender. "Point taken," Prue sighed, admitting defeat, "Well, we better get going. Thanks for the impromptu speech." "You're most welcome. Uh, Prue, Piper, could you do me a favor?" he questioned, as they left his office. Piper turned round with a promising smile. "We won't spoil the surprise. Your secret's safe with us," she assured, knowing that he would ask them not to reveal his intentions to Phoebe.
"Jeez, he can be so damn perceptive sometimes!" Prue exclaimed to Piper as they drove towards San Francisco Memorial. Piper nodded slightly, her gaze staring out the window. Turning round to face her sister, she sighed. "He's right, you know," she stated quietly. Prue sighed too. "It's still hard," she countered. "I know," Piper told her softly, returning her gaze to the window.

Phoebe slipped on her glasses as she carefully skimmed the file of medical reports in front of her. She was in her private office at the hospital analyzing some test results for one of her patients. She was so intent on her work that she didn't look up until there was a slight knock and the door to her office opened. "Do we need an appointment?" Prue joked, poking her head in. Phoebe's expression lightened up immediately, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Of course not! Come on in," she invited, standing up as both her older sisters wondered into her office. They gazed around at their sister's second home. "This place is?quot; Piper began. "Small, filled with stuff and well, a hospital," Phoebe offered with a grin. Piper shook her head. "Actually, it's not as bad as I expected," she admitted. "What did you expect?" Phoebe asked. "I dunno. White, and the smell of disinfectant," Prue suggested with a smirk. Phoebe rolled her eyes slightly. "Uh huh. Since this can't be a social call, I'm hoping its got nothing to do with a demon, but everything to do with the Cruise?" she questioned curiously, perching on the edge of her desk, while gesturing for her sisters to take seats. Prue and Piper obliged. "Yup." "And?" Phoebe pressed. "We accepted," Prue told her. Phoebe's smile broadened. "Great! It's gonna be so much fun! What about Leo and Bane?" "We'll talk them into it," Piper promised. Just then, there was another knock and the office door opened. A young woman with startling blue eyes and long, curly black hair, about Phoebe's age, popped her head in. Seeing Prue and Piper, she stopped abruptly. "Oh, I'm sorry for interrupting," she apologized, backing out again. "No, Dana, it's okay. Come in," Phoebe stopped her. Dana entered, revealing that she, like Phoebe was sporting a long white coat. "Guys, I'd like you to meet my partner, Dr. Dana Delgado. Dana, my sisters, Prue and Piper," Phoebe introduced them. The sisters shook hands, before Dana handed Phoebe a small folder. "This came from Oncology a minute ago," she said turning to leave. "Thanks," Phoebe called after her. After she left, Prue smiled at her little sister, the pride of a parent evident in her expression. "So, what are your plans for the day?" Phoebe asked. "Nothing actually. No photo shoots." "The club doesn't open till later either," Piper added. "So, you're not doing anything important during the day?" Phoebe asked again. Her sisters shook her head, and Phoebe smiled. "How about a sisters day inclusive of lunch and a shopping spree on my credit card?" she suggested, her eyes sparkling as she watched her sisters' expressions open up gladly. "Really? Don't you have to work?" Piper questioned. Phoebe shook her head. "Only until 12 which is about an hour and a half away," she confirmed. "Shopping on YOUR credit card?" Prue raised her eyebrows slightly. "Uh huh. I owe it up to you guys," Phoebe responded quietly. Piper opened her mouth to protest, but Phoebe stopped her with a shake of her head. "I do. I know I haven't been spending much time with you. And even when I do, it's mainly supernatural problems. I want to say I'm sorry, but I don't really have a choice and it doesn't mean any of the things you think it does. Okay?" Prue and Piper studied their little sister's face for a moment. "Okay," they agreed in unison, smiles spreading across their features. "Good. Now, are we still on for today?" Phoebe questioned, slightly impatient. Piper smiled. "Can't wait to make up for all my credit card bills." "Same here," Prue said with a smirk. "Oh boy, I'm gonna regret this. Here I am trying to be nice, and you guys are taking advantage," Phoebe complained playfully. "What are your plans for the night? We could bar tend at P3," Piper suggested. Phoebe shook her head regretfully. "I'm on call and I agreed to Chinese with Kevin," she explained. "In that case, how about a proper dinner with dates at home," Piper inferred thoughtfully. Prue grinned. "Now that’s a plan." "Sounds good to me as long as you're not cooking," Phoebe agreed, smirking at her oldest sister. "No worries Pheebs. If anyone gets sick, we have an excellent doctor at hand," Piper said teasingly. The sisters continued to throw teasing remarks back and forth. Their playful banter was interrupted however, by the urgent voice over the hospital PA system. "Dr. Haliwell to Trauma Bay 1. Dr. Haliwell to Trauma Bay 1." Phoebe sighed, standing up. "I'll pick you up from home. Sorry, gotta go," she said, already heading out the door hurriedly.

"It's been a long time since we've done this," Phoebe commented as they strolled casually along the aisles of the department store. Prue and Piper said nothing, but inwardly they were glad. "How about swimsuits for our trip," Prue suggested, as they approached the swimsuit section. "Why not?" Phoebe remarked, stepping ahead. The sisters spent the next couple of hours picking out clothes and other accessories they thought might be needed for their holiday. They were having such a good time together and enjoying each others company so much that it wasn't until they were on their way to the cashier that Prue glanced at her watch and gasped in surprise. "Omigosh! It's almost 4!" she exclaimed. "What!" Piper exclaimed. Phoebe grinned. "Time flies when you're busy! Quit worrying, you don't have anywhere to go." "Nope, but my tummy says our next stop must be a restaurant!" Piper said. Phoebe just shook her head. On reaching the counter, the sisters put down their purchases. "Same bill," Phoebe said, retrieving her credit card from her wallet and handing it to the cashier. "I meant what I said," she told her protesting sisters firmly. The cashier simply nodded and continued to register their purchases. Once she was done, the purchases were packed and she returned Phoebe's credit card along with a bill. Grabbing their bags, the sisters made their way to the parking lot and to Phoebe's car where they dumped the purchases into the boot and hopped in, Phoebe in the driving seat with Piper beside her. Phoebe pressed a switch that pulled down the hood of her new model silver convertible. "Where to?" she asked, turning round. "What's your favorite restaurant?" Prue asked. "Unless you two have become overnight vegetarians, you won't like it," she warned with a smirk. "Oops! Forgot." "I thought so." "I wonder how you manage to live on greens," Piper said, shaking her head in distaste. "Hey! I can still kick butt, can't I?" Phoebe defended herself. "I'm speechless," Piper admitted, knowing that her sister was very skilled at self-defense and karate. "How about Quake, then?" Prue suggested. Phoebe looked at Piper who simply shrugged. "Quake it is," she said, starting up the car and backing out carefully. The sisters drove along, smiling happily, the wind sending their hair flying. Phoebe slowed her car to a stop in front of the ever-popular restaurant that used to be Piper's former place of work. Upon entering, the sisters made their way to a vacant table. There were quite a few considering that most people finished their lunch before 4 in the afternoon. Prue went to buy drinks, while Piper and Phoebe scanned the menu. "Some things never change," Piper commented. Phoebe looked up for a moment but said nothing before turning back to the folder. Prue came back with their beverages just as a waitress came to take their orders. Once they were served, the sisters settled down to their meal hungrily, especially Phoebe who had skipped breakfast. "We should do this more often," Prue said quietly with a smile. Piper nodded her agreement. "Sure, as long as its your credit card next time," Phoebe said with a grin, handing a hundred dollar bill to the waitress when she brought their check. "You're gonna have one helluva credit card bill this month," Piper told her grinning. "No kidding! But it was definitely worth it!" Phoebe responded. "Did you call Kevin and tell him about dinner?" Prue asked suddenly. Phoebe reached for her phone suddenly, dialing his number. "I'll take that as a no," Prue said, with a smirk. Phoebe shot her a look. "Hey Kevin, its me…About dinner tonight…yeah…no I'm not canceling…instead of Chinese…how about dinner at our house…yeah…they'll be there too…I hope not…but you never know…okay…love you too…bye." Phoebe hung up with a content sigh. "He'll make it," she told her sisters, as they headed back outside.

That evening, while Phoebe was upstairs getting dressed, her older sisters were in the kitchen making final preparations for the evening. "We're gonna have to get used to not having our baby sister around soon. She's gonna get married soon," Piper told her older sister quietly, a hint of sadness in her tone. "We don't know if she'll accept," Prue argued half-heartedly knowing full well deep down that she had to learn to accept Phoebe as more than just her baby girl. Piper sighed. "Prue…we have to face the truth, as much as I don't want to," she insisted, just as blue orbs swirled in the hallway, though neither of them realized. "I don't want to lose her," Prue said softly. "I don't want to lose my baby either," Piper told her, just as quietly. "You won't lose her," Leo said, having picked up on their conversation. "Leo!" Prue and Piper said simultaneously. He kissed Piper softly on the lips. "You could never lose Phoebe, even if you wanted to. She loves you both way too much," he told them. Prue sighed. "Do all the good guys in our life have to be so perceptive?" she asked the ceiling. "Tell me about it!" Piper agreed. They didn't have a chance to pursue that conversation as the doorbell rang. Prue started for the front door, opening it expectantly knowing it had to be either Kevin or Bane. "Hey Prue," Bane said, stepping in and giving her a gentle kiss, which she gladly returned. He was dressed casually in shirt and trousers, with his short spiky hair combed down neatly. Prue took his hand and led him into the lounge where Piper and Leo were. At that minute, Phoebe came downstairs wearing a dark reddish-purple turtleneck over tight black pants, her shoulder length brown hair hanging freely on her shoulders. It was a simple and casual outfit, but it looked fabulous on her. "You look good," Prue complimented, her baby sister. "Thanks Prue, but its just casual." The doorbell rang and Phoebe smiled, starting for the front door. She threw it open expectantly. Kevin was standing on the other side, in beige trousers and a black turtleneck, a single red rose in his hand. "Hi there," he greeted lightly. "Hi there yourself," Phoebe returned, stepping back to let him in. Kevin stepped inside, holding out the rose to her. Phoebe accepted it, linking her free hand with his. "Oh, you shouldn't have." "But I wanted to," he whispered, leaning closer. Phoebe tilted her head upwards and their lips met as they shared a long lingering kiss, oblivious to the fact that her sisters and their beaus were watching. Drawing apart, they walked into the lounge, hand in hand. "Matching outfits," Prue grinned, observing that both were in turtlenecks.
Later that evening they were all in the kitchen while the sisters were laying the final items on the dining table. Phoebe stepped back and took in the setting. "Delicious cuisine, three couples, candlelight…perfect. Now all we need is some Frank Sinatra," she joked. "Your wish is my command," Kevin remarked, holding his hand in front of her just as he summoned the CD into his hands. Phoebe grinned at him. "I could get used to this." " I'm all yours," he responded. "You're an angel," Phoebe told him, leaning in to kiss him. "That would be Leo, but I'll settle for a kiss and the title of 'greatest guy in the whole wide world'," he replied, just as he felt her lips touch his lightly. He tried to deepen the kiss, but she pulled away evasively, her expression teasing. Kevin pouted playfully, just as Piper and Leo came back with Bane and Prue. Piper couldn't help but smile thoughtfully at the scene that had unfolded only moments before. There was absolutely no doubt in her mind that by the time their little trip was over, her little sister would be engaged. Phoebe slid the CD into the stereo and started it. "Well, let's eat," Piper said, gesturing towards the table. They all sat down quietly, Phoebe keeping her pager in front of her. "You're literally attached to that aren't you?" Prue teased, only half-joking. "Never leave home without it," Piper agreed. "Someone's life could depend on it," Phoebe said simply. They settled down to their meal, casually chatting about almost everything. "How would you like to meet my parents?" Kevin asked his girlfriend suddenly. "I'd love to," Phoebe responded casually. Kevin struggled to stifle his grin when he spoke again. "That's good, 'cause they'll be visiting from Vancouver next month." Phoebe nearly choked on her food. "What!" Phoebe and Kevin had been sitting side by side, and so none of the others had heard their conversation. Phoebe's coughing and her outburst got their attention. "Pheebs, you okay?" Leo asked with concern. He didn't get an answer. "You are joking, right? Please tell me you're joking?" Phoebe asked in alarm, staring at Kevin like he was out of his mind. He grinned slightly. "Oh come on. They're not that bad! Besides you said you'd love to meet them." "But?quot; "But what?" "Kevin!" Phoebe exclaimed. Whatever she was going to say was cut off by her pager beeping. Reacting instantly, she reached for it. A moment later, she stood up excusing herself from the table. "I'll be right back," she promised, going into the living room to use the phone. "Kevin, what did you say that made her bore holes into your head with her eyes?" Bane asked, voicing the curiosity of everyone else. "I told her my parents want to meet her and that they'd be visiting soon. She flipped out," he explained matter-of-factly. Prue and Piper exchanged glances, smirks spreading across their faces, but refrained from saying anything. Phoebe came back a few minutes later, seemingly relieved with something, but offered no explanation. She turned to Kevin. "You can't do this to me!" He shrugged innocently. "I don't have much of a say when it comes to my mum," he admitted meekly. "Relax, the only thing she'll be wondering is how a smart, gorgeous and everything going for person like you, who also happens to be a witch, managed to fall for a dork like me," he added cautiously. "Flattery will get you nowhere," Phoebe warned. "Hey doc, come on. She's my mum. She won't bite," he protested. Phoebe sighed, but her expression opened up a little. "Nope, but she has the power of Banishing which means if she doesn't like me she can send me to the Sahara with a snap of her fingers," she retorted, only half-serious. "If that happens, I'll summon you back," he assured with a grin. Phoebe just shook her head in exasperation as she exchanged glances with her sisters across the table. The evening went by fairly quickly and soon it was over. Leo was called away and both Kevin and Bane took their leave. The sisters were left to clean up. "I can manage this. You guys go on up to bed," Piper insisted. "I don't mind. Really Piper, its no big deal!" Phoebe assured, putting some of the cutlery into the dishwasher. "Same here," Prue agreed, carrying in some of the drink glasses. "Pretty eventful evening, huh?" Prue commented casually, shooting Piper a glance. Phoebe turned to look at them, frowning. "Yeah. I am so gonna get my butt kicked next month." "Pheebs, they can't be that bad. If they were, Kevin wouldn't be the kind of person you fell in love with," Piper tried to soothe her sister. "Who can possibly not like you, Pheebs? They'll love you the minute they see you," Prue assured. "You really think so?" Phoebe questioned uncertainly. "I know so," Prue and Piper chorused, giving their younger sibling a warm hug. "What would I do without you guys?" she asked, as they drew apart. "Worry and fret for no reason," Prue replied. Phoebe grinned slightly. "Sorry, but both my older sisters are particularly good at that, thinking that because I spend so much time at work, I'm trying to avoid them and that I love them any less." She received a good-natured glare from both of them. "Okay, I guess we deserved that," Piper admitted. "Uh huh. And don't you dare ever think like that again, or I will so kick your butts. Are we clear?" Phoebe said in a mock stern voice. "Yes ma'am," Prue said with a mock salute.

A horn blared into the Haliwell Manor from the driveway. A Maxi Cab was parked in the driveway. Inside, the three sisters, each with their respective beaus were doing some last minute packing. "Will we need jerseys?" Piper questioned frantically. Leo laughed. "Piper, you're going on a cruise not the Arctic!" "It does get cold at sea," she defended her self. Just then, someone knocked on the door. "Hey you two. Ready?" Phoebe asked with a grin. "Tell Piper she's not going to the Arctic!" Leo joked, starting for the door, carrying his suitcase. Phoebe let him pass before stepping into the room and eyeing her sister's stuff. "He's right, you know," she told Piper with a smirk. "Ha Ha. Funny!" Piper responded. Phoebe rummaged through the clothing pile and drew out a jacket and a coat. "This will do, honey," she assured tossing the items to her sister. "You sure?" Piper asked skeptically. "Trust me," Phoebe told her giving her a peck on the cheek and wrapping her arms round her sister's shoulders from behind. "I do," Piper said, appreciating her sister's simple gesture of affection. As Phoebe released her she set about stuffing the items into her already full suitcase. Phoebe sat on it to make it easier. "Thanks." "You're welcome. Now let's get outta here," Phoebe said, grabbing the suitcase with one hand and wrapping the other around Piper's waist as she teleported downstairs. Kevin and Leo were waiting for them, while Prue and Bane were making their way down the stairs. "Hey…that’s not fair," Leo protested as they appeared. Kevin just grinned as he summoned Phoebe's bags into his hands. "That too," Leo added. "And that," he added again as two suitcases came flying down the stairs. The sisters just exchanged glances, grinning widely. "Personal gain," Leo scolded. "And you've never broken a rule before," Piper told him. "Besides, you need to burn off the extra calories," Phoebe teased, deftly stepping away from Leo and towards Kevin. "Hey!" came the predictable protest. Phoebe stuck out her tongue at Leo playfully. The cab horned again, interrupting their banter. "We've got plenty of time for this once we're on that liner," Kevin said, starting for the front door carrying a suitcase with one hand and wrapping the other around Phoebe. Taking his cue, Leo and Bane grabbed some of the luggage too, while Phoebe squirmed out of her boyfriend's arm and went to help her sisters lock up the house. They had cast a protection spell over the entire house, so that no forces of evil could enter. They had decided against taking the BoS with them as it would be risky and if by any chance it was needed, Phoebe could easily teleport back for it. Locking up carefully, nevertheless, the sisters followed the men to the van waiting for them.

On arriving at the port, the cab parked to let its passengers out. The three men gathered the luggage between them as they approached the boarding area. They showed their tickets and were waved inside. Just as they entered the lobby of the main deck, a young man with blond hair approached them with a friendly expression. "Hey Colton!" Kevin greeted him with a handshake. "Kevin! Great to see you." "Colton, meet my girlfriend Phoebe. Phoebe, my friend," Kevin made the introductions. "Hi," Phoebe responded warmly. The others were also introduced, before Colton got down to their cabin arrangements. "I hope you don't mind but I placed you all in cabins not far from each other on the same deck." He handed out the keys, and signaled to a porter. "I'd show you to your cabins myself, but I can't. Here's the schedule of the cruise," he added, handing out the leaflets. With that, he departed. A porter came up to them, and glancing at their keys, picked up some of their luggage and started towards the elevator. He led them to another deck and down the hall past a series of cabins to their own. The closest cabin to the entrance was the one Phoebe and Kevin would be sharing. Prue and Piper's were almost a dozen cabins further down, but opposite each other. As Kevin set their bags down, Phoebe let her eyes explore their lodging. It was an average-sized room furnished with a double bed and a changeable couch that could become a bed at night and an armchair during the day. There was a large round window facing the water. On the side was a door leading to the bathroom. Phoebe assumed that all cabins on this deck were similar to this. There were two wardrobes in a corner. After unpacking, they settled on the couch, Phoebe on Kevin's lap as they skimmed the leaflet together. Kevin glanced at his watch. "We'll set sail in less than an hour. Wanna go up on deck?" he more suggested than asked. Phoebe nodded, sighing contentedly. "This is so perfect. Things just couldn't get any better." Kevin smiled lovingly. "We'll see about that," he whispered to himself as he kissed her neck softly. "Just how I hoped you'd find it," he told her. With that, he stood up, gently picking her up in his arms and then setting her down on her feet. He took her hand as they opened the cabin and stepped out, heading for the elevator. Several minutes later, Phoebe and Kevin stood on the top deck, each holding an ice cream cone, gazing out at the sea, where the sun was casting its dying rays over the horizon, just as the liner pulled out of dock and began to set sail. It was going to be a fantastic vacation. "Its beautiful," Phoebe breathed, admiring the view. Kevin glanced at her. She looked so beautiful with the wind caressing her cheeks and waving her hair and the golden rays of the dying light, making her face shine. "So are you," Kevin said softly, leaning closer so that their noses were almost touching. Phoebe tilted her head slightly sideways as he gently pressed his lips against hers. Suddenly, the sound of a camera clicking jolted them to reality from their own world. Spinning round, they were met with Prue's guilty expression. "Prue!" they exclaimed in unison. "Gotcha!" Prue responded grinning. Phoebe sighed with mock annoyance. "Beginning to wish you hadn't invited us along?" Piper teased. Phoebe smirked at them. "You'd have invited yourselves anyway," she responded, taking a lick of her ice cream as Kevin did the same. "You're missing the view," Bane interrupted. "We were enjoying it until now," Kevin pointed out, turning back to his girlfriend.
The rest of the evening was spent out on deck, gazing at the stars like a lot of other couples. Kevin had been right. Everything was arranged romantically just like in the movies, except in the movies, you hardly ever had three sisters and their respective male companions getting along so well as one big happy family. At half past 6, they all trooped back to the cabins to get ready for dinner. From the leaflet, they were told that it was only casual and so no over-dressing was necessary. They sauntered out onto the top deck, as it was a clear night, the buffet was held under the stars. After a relaxing and hearty meal, they stayed out a little longer, but as it was growing colder and the winds stronger they decided to venture indoors as most of the other guests. "When do we dock at Florida?" Piper questioned, as they made their way to the cabins. 'Tomorrow at noon according to the schedule," Leo informed them. "Great!" Phoebe exclaimed as they reached her and Kevin's cabin. "Good night big sisters," she said, turning to face them. "G' night, Bane, Leo," she added quickly, as Kevin opened their cabin. They bade their farewells for the night. Kevin closed the door behind them as Phoebe pulled out a bathrobe and started for the bathroom. "Care to join me?" she invited flirtatiously. In response, Kevin grabbed his robe and followed her in, closing the door. The rest is left up to the imagination of the readers.

The next morning, Piper and Leo stepped out of their cabin just as Prue and Bane did. Together they walked up to their little sister's cabin and knocked. They received no response nor did they hear anything. Piper knocked again. "Hey you two. It's almost 8!" Silence. "Maybe they're already up," Bane proposed. Prue and Piper just shrugged. Relenting, the foursome started up to the restaurant. On reaching it, they realized that not many people were up yet. However, the breakfast buffet was ready. They filled their plates and satisfied with it, they climbed the steps to the upper deck, which had been lain with benches and picnic tables and umbrellas, along the edges. "There they are," Bane said, pointing towards a larger table in the far corner where Phoebe and Kevin were having their meal, constantly talking about something. Phoebe looked up as she saw her sisters approaching. "So there you are." Kevin greeted them all as did Phoebe. He gestured towards the unoccupied chairs at the table and they all sat down to finish their meal together. At noon, the liner docked in Florida. There were several coaches waiting to take the passengers to their land accommodation. The Haliwells and their men managed to get on the first coach that departed to the seaside resort that they would be spending the next week or so. Their rooming arrangements were very much the same, all three couples being assigned rooms close together with Phoebe's being a little further away. After settling into their new arrangements and changing in to more comfy clothes, the group trouped into the lobby from where they were lead to the open roof luncheon. They enjoyed a long and lazy lunch, and then dug into a heavy dessert consisting of tropical fruits, puddings and all sorts. Having finished their meal, they opted to go down to the very inviting beach. Kevin linked his hand with Phoebe's as they strolled slowly down the beach looking for a nice spot. Not many people had ventured out yet, so they had quite a choice. Having settled on the perfect place, they set up an umbrella, a blanket and numerous towels, with two of the sisters having suntan lotion. Phoebe, already having a tan that she thought was satisfactory preferred sunscreen lotion. As the sisters sat down, Kevin suggested. "How about a game of volleyball?" Phoebe grinned, first at him and then at her sisters. "Whatcha say, sis? Shall we show these guys what we're made of?" she said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Oh, and what do you know about volleyball?" Leo asked, looking down at his 'baby sister' with a grin. "Enough to earn national colors," she replied smugly. "And to captain the high school senior team," Prue added proudly, giving her sister a grin. "What about the college team," Piper put in, exchanging victorious glances with her sisters. "We might have a problem here," Bane said, mocking worry. Kevin just shrugged, giving Phoebe a kiss on the cheek. "Never underestimate the Charmed Ones," he said, standing up. "I'll go fetch a ball," he told her, and then pulled Leo and Bane to their feet as well. "If I can't stay with my lady, neither can you, so come on," he said, dragging them alone. The sisters just laughed. "This is just so perfect. I'm so glad you guys decided to come. It wouldn't have been half as much fun if it were just me and Kevin," Phoebe said, turning round to face her sisters as she slipped out of her baggy T-shirt, revealing a shiny black bathing suit top with purple streaks. Prue and Piper smiled at their baby sister, thinking that if things went according to plan, they would turn out even better. "So are you sure we can kick their butts at volleyball?" Piper asked, knowing full well that her younger sister would be confident of it. Phoebe flopped down next to her. "Why not? We are good enough even without our magic, right?" "Except I haven't played since high school," Prue said. "And I've never played, just watched you break your bones from the bleachers," Piper said grinning, remembering how many times Phoebe came home with some kind of injury. Phoebe punched her lightly. "Hey! I wasn't that bad," she protested playfully in a baby voice. "That you were," Prue confirmed, just as Kevin, Bane and Leo came jogging up to them carrying a net and a ball. Leo and Bane began setting up the net, while Kevin handed Phoebe the ball and shrugged off his Nike shirt. He tossed it on top of hers and then went back to help out Bane and Leo. Phoebe saw from the corner of her eyes, that both her sisters raised their eyebrows as Kevin revealed the strong, well-built muscles on his arms and chest. Phoebe slapped Piper's arm. "Watch where your eyes go. He's mine," she warned jokingly. "He looks to be in pretty good shape," Prue commented slyly. "Believe me, I'd know. Keep your eyes to Bane, sis. This bloke's mine," Phoebe warned again. Prue and Piper just smiled at her, smirking slightly. "Let's volley!" Leo called out. The sisters stood up and took their positions on one side of the net. Their game got underway slowly while they warmed up. Phoebe was the first one to take the opportunity. In reply to a slow, high volley from Leo, she jumped, and with perfect timing, slammed her fist into the ball, making sure it just got over the net before hitting the ground. She shared a high-five with Piper. "Yes!" Kevin served quickly, hoping to catch them off guard but Prue saw it coming and easily sent it back. The next five minutes were spent with both Prue and Piper scoring a point each, and the guys getting their own back. With the arrival of the last two minutes, both teams were tied. Piper made a crucial mistake, when she didn't get enough force on the ball. Kevin saw it and waited for his chance, slamming the ball back into the girls' court. Phoebe reacted quickly. With lightening speed, she dove forward, getting her hand underneath the ball only inches before it touched the ground. She hit it upwards, giving Piper the perfect opportunity to make up for her blunder, as she hit it for a point. Prue and Piper pulled Phoebe to her feet as they cheered, giving each other a high five, before turning back to their men, wearing triumphant smiles on their faces. As they retreated back to their spot, Phoebe turned to Leo. "Mr. Wyatt, do you think that I know enough about volleyball now?" she asked with fake innocence. Leo frowned and turned to his soul mate. "Help me out here," he begged. Piper grinned at him, wrapping an arm around her little sister's shoulders as Phoebe slipped hers round Piper's waist. "Sorry Leo, can't help you with that. You asked for it!" "Okay fine. I'll put aside my wounded pride long enough for this," Kevin relented with a grin, sweeping Phoebe out of Piper's grasp and bringing his lips towards hers. Phoebe just let his lips barely touch hers before jerking her head away, leaving him to meet the side of her face. "Hey!" he whined playfully. Phoebe pulled back teasingly as she went back to her sisters. "How about some ice cream first," she suggested, winking at her sisters. "Yeah…double flavored chocolate sundae with chips and wafers," Prue said, looking towards Bane. "Pistachio for me," Piper said to Leo. All three men groaned. The sisters frowned simultaneously. Leo sighed. "Sometimes destiny sucks," he muttered to Bane and Kevin. "Leo did you say something?" Piper questioned, narrowing her eyes. "Uh…nope," Leo answered quickly. Kevin, Leo and Bane trudged down the beach in search of an ice cream van. "Oh boy…we definitely know how to give them a hard time," Prue said, laughing. Phoebe grinned, wrapping an arm around each of her sister's shoulders. "Yup, but those three would seriously do anything for us. Aren't we lucky?" Prue and Piper each slipped an arm around Phoebe's waist. "We're even luckier to have each other," Piper whispered, leaning back against Phoebe and taking in her sister's perfume smell. "In that case, our luck will never run out coz we'll always have each other. No matter where, no matter what the circumstances," Phoebe promised softly, squeezing her sisters' shoulders. Their sister moment was interrupted by the return of their beaus, each carrying two ice creams. Kevin came up to Phoebe handing her one of the chocolate sundaes he held. He took a long lick from the other as they sat down under the umbrella again. Phoebe leaned back against her boyfriend's body, taking in his warm familiar scent. Kevin slipped his free hand around her. Prue and Piper cuddled up to Leo and Bane. They licked on their ice creams in a comfortable silence. Each one of them was content in their own way. They spent the dying hours of the afternoon playing in the water. Even Prue who usually hated water managed spend about an hour splashing about, after some initial coaxing from her sisters and boyfriend. She and Piper didn't venture too far, as neither was very fond of water. So it happened, that Bane and Leo didn't go too far either. Only Phoebe and Kevin went out quite far, swimming together. Prue and Piper could see how truly happy Kevin made their baby sister and how, she in return seemed to light up his eyes all the time. They were surely meant for each other. As the sun was beginning to set, they waded out, waiting for Phoebe and Kevin who came out not long after. Grabbing a towel they dried them selves quickly, and threw on their shirts. Starting the slow walk back to the resort, the group was commenting on their activities for the next day. "I wanna go water-skiing!" Phoebe announced enthusiastically. "I'm sure that can be arranged," Kevin grinned. "Thank you," Phoebe said, giving him a peck on the cheek. "Anything for you, my lady."
******
The next morning, after breakfast, they all headed out to the pier, where a boat with water-ski equipment was waiting for them. They settled down in the average-sized motor boat as it headed out to sea. After going out a considerable distance, the motor was stopped and the driver turned round to face the passengers. "Ladies first," Bane said promptly. "I'm not going," Prue said firmly. Phoebe gave her a reassuring look, but made no attempt to shake her sister's resolve. It was something Prue was yet to get over. She shot Piper a glance. "You first," Piper insisted. Phoebe sighed, slipping out of her shorts and shrugging off her T-shirt revealing her bathing suit. "Where do I start?" she asked enthusiastically. The instructor attached the skis and helped her into the water, handing her the cord. "Let's go," Phoebe said, as the motor was started and she was being towed back to bay. At first it was difficult to keep her balance, but Phoebe soon got the hang of it. She didn't fall off even once. "Pretty good for an amateur," the instructor said, as she was helped back into the boat. "Its fabulous," she told her sisters, mainly Prue, but all she did was shake her head. Phoebe didn't push it. Piper was next. She too was helped into the water like Phoebe. "You'll be fine. Just relax," Phoebe told her reassuringly, trying to calm her sister's nerves. Piper struggled, and wasn't as gracious as her little sister but she didn't do too badly. She didn't fall off either. An unexpected wave rocked the boat slightly. Once it had gone, they all turned to see how Piper was holding out. All they saw was one ski and Piper's head bobbing up and down. "Piper, you okay?" Leo called out. "I'm fine," Piper called back. Prue and Phoebe grinned at each other, knowing how stubborn their sister could be when she wanted to. Phoebe's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Shhh," she said, placing a finger on her lips just before she slid off the side of the boat and into the water. Replying to her older sister's curious expression, she grinned, before diving underneath, swimming as quietly as possible towards her middle sister. Prue, Kevin, Bane, Leo and the instructor watched in anticipation what was going to happen. Almost a minute later, they saw Phoebe's head pop up to the surface only for a brief moment, probably for air, before she disappeared again. Piper hadn't seen her younger sister approaching. Phoebe swam as silently as possible. She could just make out the bright blue of a Water Ski and the dark silhouette of her sister's legs. Trying to cause as little disturbance as possible she slowly untied the ski that was still attached to Piper's leg. Letting it go free, she braced herself for what she was going to do next. Piper would kill her! With one swift motion, she swept Piper's feet off the seabed. On the surface, everyone on the boat watched silently, waiting for it to happen. The, suddenly, they saw Piper's head disappear under the surface as she cried out with a mixture of fear and surprise in her voice. "Pheebs, you're dead meat," Prue said quietly, grinning. A moment later, a head resurfaced, followed by the other. "Phoebe!" Piper yelled in rage. On the boat, everyone tried hard not to giggle.
"Hi Pipe," Phoebe said innocently, trying to hide a smile. "Are you trying to kill me?" Piper demanded angrily. Phoebe didn't reply. She didn't want to laugh, but she just couldn't help it. Piper just stared at her in exasperation. "Come on, let's get out of the water," Phoebe suggested quietly, knowing she had pissed her sister off. Grabbing the water skis, Piper started swimming frantically towards the boat, leaving phoebe behind. Sighing, and knowing she deserved the verbal assault she would receive shortly, Phoebe started after her, swimming more calmly with even strokes that very soon she was alongside Piper. Reaching out, she wordlessly took the water skis from her sister and continued swimming, but not at her fastest pace, just enough to make sure Piper was behind her. As she climbed into the boat, phoebe was met with the amused glances of her oldest sister, her boyfriend, her sister's boyfriend and Kevin, not to exclude the instructor. Prue shook her head. "You're in for it," she warned, not being able to hide her grin. Piper came next and was helped onto the boat by Kevin and Leo. She looked at everyone, and could tell they were all having trouble containing their laughter. "Go on, just laugh!" she retorted furiously. She avoided eye contact with Phoebe, who said nothing. Leo just pulled Piper towards him. She hugged him reluctantly, a little hurt and intimidated by what Phoebe had done. She cast one glance at her younger sister, who returned the gaze with an apologetic one of her own. Piper turned away abruptly, hearing Phoebe sigh slightly. After each of the men had their turn on the skis, the boat headed back to the pier. "How about the beach?" Bane suggested. They all agreed and made their way back to the spot they had spent the previous day at. Setting up again, they contemplated on what to do. Suddenly, a Frisbee came flying in their direction. Phoebe reached out in time to catch it. She looked around just as a teenager came running towards them. Phoebe threw it back at the kid who caught it. "Thanks miss," he said running off again. They spent the remainder of the morning sun bathing with Prue and Piper trying to work a tan. At lunchtime, they all headed back to the hotel for their meal. They were almost halfway through their food, when a waiter came up to their table. "Excuse me, but which one of you might be Dr. Phoebe Haliwell?" he asked politely. Phoebe looked up, as did everyone else. "That would be me," she answered cautiously. "Ma'am, I'm sorry to interrupt but there's a call from San Francisco Memorial Hospital. They say it's urgent," he explained, holding out the cordless phone to her. Phoebe sighed as she accepted. Without bothering to stand up, she answered it. "Hello…Dana! What's going on…Yeah, the abortion clinic…What!" Phoebe said in shock and disbelief. "I don't believe this is happening!" she exclaimed again, standing up from the table and walking away. From behind her, Prue, Piper and Kevin exchanged glances, wondering if their vacation was about to be cut short so suddenly. About five minutes later, Phoebe came back, returning the phone to the waiter, who bowed slightly, before departing. Phoebe sat down quietly, offering no explanation as to the call, but from the expression on her face, everyone could tell something was troubling her. Phoebe looked down at her plate, toying with her food, not really having much of an appetite left. She gazed out the window behind them, her eyes fixed on the scenery outside, but her mind was whizzing with a million and one thoughts. She was brought back to reality when Kevin waved his hand in front of her face. "Earth to Phoebe." She blinked. "Huh…Yeah!" she said, sounding distant. "Something bothering you?" Kevin asked. "What's with the phone call?" Prue questioned, knowing that it was troubling her sister. "Nothing much. Just work. It's not important," she insisted, her words coming out harsher than she had intended. Phoebe sighed. "Look guys, I'm sorry. I just didn't expect something to turn out the way it did and I just regret starting in the first place," she explained vaguely. "You wanna talk about it?" Piper asked. Phoebe shook her head firmly. "It's something I'll have to deal with on my own." "You know you wouldn't have to worry if you hadn't left your contact info with the hospital," Bane pointed out quietly. Phoebe shook her head, sighing again. "I wish it were that simple, but as a doctor I have an obligation to leave my whereabouts known at all times in case something happens to one of my patients," she explained. "And this was about?" Leo prompted. "Leo, I said I didn't want to worry you guys with it," Phoebe warned him, sounding annoyed. "Well, aren't you at least gonna eat?" Prue asked. "I just lost my appetite." Prue and Piper let it drop. Phoebe obviously wasn't keen on talking about it. She never discussed much of her patients with them anyway. It was probably some patient doctor agreement, but their sister had made it clear she wasn't in a mood to share. After dessert, of which Phoebe ate some pudding, the headed back down to the beach. Phoebe kept up a forced smile for the benefit of her companions, but they knew she was frustrated and upset with the whole situation. She was also a little annoyed with herself for the prank she pulled on Piper earlier that morning and knew she owed her sister an apology. Retreating to their spot, she flopped down beside Kevin, letting him wrap his arms around her. She rolled on to her tummy, resting her head on her hands and closing her eyes. About a half-hour later, Kevin realized that she hadn't moved in awhile and leaned closer only to find that she had drifted off to sleep. Smiling, he placed a tender kiss against her head, before slipping his arms out and standing up. Prue and Piper saw him rise without Phoebe even moving. He placed a finger to his lips, warning them to keep quiet. They nodded in understanding.
Phoebe felt the sound of waves and the feel of sand against her ears as she awoke. Opening her eyes slowly, knowing the sunlight would be strong, she was surprised to find Piper lying on her stomach, also asleep. She sighed, gently brushing a strand of hair from her sister's face, wondering if she was still mad at her. Piper stirred at feel of someone's hand against her face. She opened her eyes to see Phoebe gazing down at her apologetically. "Hey!" she greeted her lightly. Piper sighed, realizing just how freaked out she was that morning. Phoebe, almost sensing what was on Piper's mind, jumped in. "Sorry about this morning," she began slowly. "You should be. I nearly had a heart attack," Piper responded. "I know, sis. It was stupid and downright mean, but I just couldn't resist." Piper gazed into her younger sister's face. Her expression had apology written all over it, but Piper didn't miss the troubled look in her sister's soft brown eyes. Piper sighed, closing her eyes. "So, am I forgiven?" Phoebe asked innocently. "I could never stay mad at you for long," Piper replied, a smile spreading across her face. "That's good, or otherwise I'd be right on top of your hate list," Phoebe agreed, but Piper knew Phoebe would be the last person she could hate. Phoebe sighed, turning her gaze away out to sea, her expression suddenly growing serious. Piper saw it, and reached out to place her hand on her sister's arm. Phoebe turned around questioningly. "You wanna talk about it?" Piper asked cautiously. Phoebe frowned, looking away again, but she didn't retaliate. "Let's just say I totally screwed up," she said quietly, but the anger in her voice was clear. Piper waited for more. "How?" Phoebe sighed, relenting. She turned back to face her sister. "I'm the person who set the ball rolling for the revolution of an Internet black market for human fetuses!" she burst out. Piper sat up slowly, holding up her hands. "Pheebs, in English please. I don't have a medical degree!" Phoebe looked at her hands. "You've heard of Parkinson's Disease, right?" Piper nodded. "It can be cured by transplanting new brain cells from a human embryo, but it kills the fetus," Phoebe explained quietly, playing with her fingers. She paused briefly. "Go on," Piper encouraged gently. "I did that for a patient." An uncertain pause again. Piper gasped inwardly, placing her hand over her sister's entwined fingers. "A pregnant woman from an abortion clinic supplied the fetus." "And the operation wasn't a success?" Piper urged quietly. Phoebe shook her head. "It was. That's the whole problem. The aborted mother wants to start a business selling human embryos, saying she can get pregnant very easily," Phoebe exclaimed, her frustration building. "Supply and demand," Piper said softly. "Exactly! And I started it all!" "You saved your patient's life," Piper insisted quietly. "But it could lead to killing so many more unborn lives!" Phoebe finally brought her gaze to meet that of her older sister's. "Just because we perfect a new technology, should we abuse and exploit it?" Phoebe asked softly. Piper couldn't answer that. Phoebe stood up, starting to walk away. Piper stood up too, calling out to her. "You did what was best for your patient. It was the right thing. You can't stop what happened or what will happen, but remember that that baby would've been killed anyway. You gave it a purpose, to ensure another person lived," she said softly, approaching her sister. Phoebe looked down at her feet, taking in her sister's words. Looking up, she cracked a small smile. "Thanks. I guess I needed to hear that," she admitted with a sigh. "Any time," Piper responded, wrapping an arm around Phoebe's shoulders. Phoebe slipped hers around Piper's waist for a moment, squeezing her gently. They had just separated when Kevin came up to them. "Hey, sleepyheads," he teased placing a soft kiss against Phoebe's lips. Phoebe returned it lightly as Leo came running, being chased after by Prue and Bane. "How old are they!" Phoebe exclaimed. Leo was looking back at Bane, and didn't realize until too late that he would ram into Piper. He desperately put his hand out. Piper's face contorted in pain as she let out a cry. Phoebe spun round in concern, as Piper stumbled towards her with the force of Leo's collision. Kevin reached out to steady her. Phoebe saw Piper's bare back and gasped audibly, knowing why her sister had reacted so violently. There was a huge red sunburn mark, tracing the outline of Leo's hand. "Oh god, Piper! I'm so sorry!" Leo apologized profusely. "Piper, you okay?" Prue asked. Piper just shook her head, wincing in pain. Prue looked at the burn and gasped, flinching. "You ought to see a doctor," she suggested, going into mothering mode. "Hey! What am I?" Phoebe protested jokingly. "Oops, sorry Pheebs," Prue apologized immediately, flashing her sister a grin. Phoebe reached out to touch the now dark red skin on her sister's back gently with her fingertips, causing Piper to flinch. "Relax, I won't hurt you," she assured. Phoebe stepped back, pulling off her shirt and tossed it to Piper. "Put this on." "What about you?" Piper asked, taking the shirt. "I'm wearing sun screen. You're not," Phoebe reminded with a smirk. Piper winced as she shrugged on the shirt. "Come on, a massage with some UV40 and a good night's sleep and you'll be fine tomorrow," Phoebe told her. Piper frowned. "What's UV40 and where on Earth can you get it from here?" Piper demanded angrily. "Jeez, don't be so negative," Leo told her. Piper turned on him angrily. "I wouldn't have to if you had been watching where you're going," she retorted. Prue and Phoebe exchanged glances. "Whoa! Relax Piper," Prue tried to soothe. "That's not a problem. I brought some UV40 with me just in case. Come on, the sooner you put something on that, the better you'll feel," Phoebe said, slipping her arm around Piper's waist and gently pulling her back in the direction of the hotel. Leo, Bane, Kevin and Prue watched them head towards the resort. "Seems like Piper's gotten over this morning," Kevin commented to Prue, unable to hide a grin. "She can never stay mad at anyone, especially Phoebe, for very long," Prue told him, watching her younger sisters disappear into the lobby of the hotel.
Phoebe and Piper stepped into the vacant elevator, Phoebe pressing the number for their floor. Phoebe turned to Piper whose expression was pained and squeezed her hand. "You'll be fine tomorrow. It'll just hurt now and in the shower," she told her. Piper winced, leaning back against the wall cautiously. "In the shower," she repeated, grimacing at the thought. Phoebe grinned slightly. "I told you to use sunscreen," she said in an annoying 'I told you so' tone of voice. "Well, you already have a tan," Piper retorted irritably, just as the elevator door opened. They stepped out, starting down the hall. They stopped at Phoebe's room as she went to fetch the sunburn cream. A minute later, they started towards Piper's room. Piper went in for a shower while Phoebe sat on the couch and flipped on the TV as she waited. About 15 minutes later, Piper stepped out in a towel. Phoebe stifled a smile as her sister lay down on her stomach. Grabbing a smaller towel, she gently dried Piper's back. Satisfied with that, she squeezed some cream out of the tube and rubbed it between her fingers and proceeded to massage Piper's back, as Piper tried her hardest not to wince or cry out. Phoebe smiled sympathetically. Once she was done, she stood up, pulling the covers over her sister. "Get some sleep, sis," she whispered, placing a kiss on the side of Piper's head. "Thanks Pheebs," Piper mumbled.

"Good Morning," Phoebe and Kevin greeted in unison as they joined the others at the breakfast table the next day. They settled down to eat as soon as the waiters brought their food. "So what are the plans of the day?" Kevin asked, between a mouthful of scrambled eggs and bacon. Phoebe hit him lightly. "How about some shopping?" she suggested as all three male companions groaned. Prue and Piper just shook their heads. 'We did that just before coming here. We don't really need anything, so we can go window shopping," Prue said reasonably. "Correction, Prue. You can go window-shopping. As for me, if I like I buy," Phoebe told her with a grin. "And if you guys don't wanna come along, fine. Just as long as you stay in the rooms while we have a sister day," Phoebe said, looking at Kevin with narrowed eyes. "Nah. I'll tag along. You don't want to spend extra money for someone to carry your stuff now, do you?" he responded. "Okay, so shopping it is," Bane agreed reluctantly. "Dr. Haliwell?" inquired a waiter. Phoebe turned. "Yes?" "This fax came through several minutes ago from San Francisco," he explained, handing her a sheet of paper. Phoebe glanced at it and her expression became relieved. She frowned slightly. "Can I use the phone?" she asked. "Yes ma'am. This way," the waiter said, leading the way towards the main lobby as Phoebe stood up. She followed him inside. Ten minutes later, she came back smiling. "Good news?" Piper asked. "You could say that," she responded. "How's your back?" she added. "Still a bit sore, but better anyway," Piper replied.
A couple of hours later, the sisters and their men were wondering around the large shopping complex. Though Prue had resolved to do only window-shopping, she had purchased quite a few items as did both her sisters. Phoebe and Kevin strayed from the group a little, wondering into a jewelry shop. They just eyed the items on display. Kevin's eyes stopped on a beautiful silver choker. He cast a glance at Phoebe. He imagined how good it would look when she was wearing it wearing it. He touched her arm and pointed at the necklace. "That would look good on you," he commented. Phoebe raised her eyebrows with interest. Kevin was right. It would go perfectly with brand new dress she had planned on wearing for the Valentine's Ball. She got the attention of the salesman, who smiled as he took it out for them to see. Looking closer, they realized that it was studded with a number of minute crystal fragments, which they were told were diamonds. "It's beautiful," Phoebe breathed. "You like it? We'll take it," Kevin said, pulling out his credit card. Phoebe just gawked at him. "What?" he asked. Phoebe just stared. "You said you like it. So do I. It'll look great on you." "But?quot; "No buts. Besides, it's my money," he told her as the salesmen placed it in a velvet case and put it in a bag, handing it to Kevin who just gave it to Phoebe. "Now, why don't you ask them about why you really came here," he suggested off-handedly. Phoebe shook herself out of her thoughts and turned to the salesmen, asking if they did custom-made items. She ordered three special items. "Ma'am, we can have it ready in three weeks," the salesman informed her. "Do you do deliveries outside Florida?" she asked. He nodded. "We can ensure that it is posted upon manufacture if you leave an address," he explained, pulling out a register and handing it to Phoebe to enter the address. "Thanks, ma'am. It was a pleasure doing business with you," he said shaking hands and handing Phoebe a receipt. Phoebe and Kevin started out of the shop, Phoebe still trying to get over what Kevin had done. Piper and Leo met them outside. "Will you stop bearing holes into head please?" Kevin teased. Phoebe shook her head. "Sorry, Kev. Its not that I don't appreciate it, but that's the kind of thing you get your wife, not your girlfriend." Piper raised her eyebrows. "Well Pheebs, you don't have a choice but to accept it, so tough. Now at least gimme a kiss," Kevin responded lightly, thinking how true her statement was and hoping she hadn't figured out his intentions yet. He dipped his head slightly to catch her lips. He pressed against them lightly, as she pressed against his in response, letting their lips melt together in a long sizzling kiss. "Now that's better. I should do this more often," Kevin said, loud enough for Phoebe to hear. "Hey!" she protested, whacking him playfully. "Hey kids, how about some lunch?" Prue teased. "Yes Mommy," Phoebe and Kevin chorused in baby voices.

That night, there was a small party and dinner dance, which was supposed to be a miniature to the Valentine's Ball the following evening. They all dressed up to certain degree and went down to the main hall. "For the fun of it, let's get wasted tonight," Prue suggested mischievously. Piper and Phoebe just gaped at her. "What? It'll be fun since we don't even have to drive, right?" "Yeah, come on. We're on vacation. Let's have some fun," Leo agreed, much to the surprise of everyone. Phoebe shook her head, stepping forward suspiciously. "Okay, who are you and what have you done with my sister and brother-in-law?" she demanded. "Pheebs, come on. Loosen up. For once, you're not on call so enjoy it," Piper suggested, causing Phoebe to stare even harder. Piper was game for it just because Leo was? She turned to Kevin. "We have a serious case of multiple demon possession here." "Oh, heck. Prue, whatever you do, I do," Bane said lightly. Phoebe shook her head as they entered the hall and approached the bar. "Are you game for this?" Kevin questioned into Phoebe's ear. She shook her head. "I'd love to enjoy my holiday without a hangover. Beside, someone has to be sober enough to make it upstairs." "That makes two of us. You couldn't handle taking them all upstairs now could you?" Kevin responded. "Hey…I'm not very happy bout it, but if ya want you could have some fun," Phoebe told him. Kevin bent down to eye level with her. "I'm happiest when I'm with you. Just having you next to me is all the fun I need," he told her sincerely.
And so this is how things went. Prue, Piper, Leo and Bane kept their word when they said they wanted to get wasted. It was definitely pissing Phoebe off, but she knew they'd suffer the consequences the next morning and couldn't wait. Kevin, however, was more than happy to spend the evening more soberly with his girlfriend. It seemed that they were one of the very few couples who had decided not to get drunk. Around 1, the party began to wind down. Phoebe and Kevin looked for her sisters. Prue and Piper were definitely in over their heads. "Hey Bebe," Prue said with a lopsided smile as she stood up, staggering towards her sister. Phoebe reached out to brace her, rolling her eyes towards Kevin. "I'm gonna kill them tomorrow!" "Kill who?" Leo said, his speech slurred, raising his head from the table. Kevin sighed as he stepped up to Leo and literally hauled him to his feet. "They are so gonna regret this!" Phoebe muttered, and then grinned wickedly. She reached into her purse and pulled out Prue's camera and began clicking away pictures of her completely senseless sisters and their boyfriends. Kevin laughed. "They won't be happy, but they deserve it." "Deserve what, klevn," Piper questioned groggily, as she stumbled towards her sister. Phoebe caught her just before she fell. "Oh boy." Kevin managed to get Bane and Leo on their feet and together they half-supported and half dragged their companions to the elevator. Having pushed them all inside, Kevin pressed their floor number and turned to the only other sober person inside. "Look, why don't you take your sisters up to our room and leave them there for the night. I'll drag these two to one of the others," he suggested. Phoebe crinkled her nose as Bane let out a loud burp. "Yeah okay. In the morning let's sneak out and get the pictures developed," she added. "Sure. We're having a better time than they are, and we aren't even drunk," Kevin agreed gleefully. They both let out audible sighs as the elevator came to a stop and opened at their floor. Slipping an arm under each of her sister's Phoebe half carried them up to her and Kevin's room and managed to get them inside. They both collapsed onto the bed literally on top of each other. Phoebe let out a frustrated sigh. She spent the next hour or so getting them out of their dresses, jewelry and shoes and into more comfy clothes. She finally succeeded in getting them both under the covers. Removing her own party attire, she settled down on the couch. There was plenty of room for her on the bed as well, but she had no intention of giving either of her sisters a chance to throw up on her. She'd suffered enough for one night. Leaning back against the overstuffed chair, she closed her eyes. "Grams, if you saw them like this you'd flip," she whispered to no one. What she didn't know was that both her Mum and Grams were watching, though unseen to her. Patty shook her head. "Those two ought to be grounded for life," Grams muttered. "Mum, they're grown women," Patty reminded her. Penny sighed. "They're still my girls. Look at Phoebe." Patty chuckled, admiring her youngest daughter's patience and concern for her older sisters. "Now we know they can survive against any demon that comes their way. " "Right. If Phoebe doesn't kill Prue and Piper tomorrow," Grams said with a relenting smile.
Phoebe woke up the next morning to find the sunlight streaming in through the blinds. Smiling slightly, she looked towards the bed expectantly, and saw both her sisters still fast asleep. For a moment she was tempted to wake them up and get on their case, but her sympathy got the better of her as she went into the bathroom to shower. She had showered, and changed into jeans, a white tank top and a jacket over it, when Piper just bolted from the bed, straight into the bathroom. Phoebe followed her in to see her sister doubled over the toilet puking her guts out. She gently held Piper's hair away from her face and rubbed her back. Phoebe was tempted to make a remark, but she held her tongue knowing that the pictures would be enough torture. She helped Piper clean up and then out of the bathroom. The strong smell of alcohol reached her nose and she knew her sister was just beginning to suffer. Phoebe sat down on the edge of the bed and leaned over Piper, gently massaging her sore spot, knowing from experience its exact location. "Hmmm. That helps," Piper mumbled, shifting so she could rest her head on her sister's knee. Phoebe chuckled softly, as she continued to massage her sister's temples. "Shall I have room service bring up breakfast for you?" she asked gently. "I'm not hungry. Just keep going." Phoebe continued it until Piper was asleep. She was just about to call room service when there was a knock on the door. She opened it to find Kevin, still wearing his clothes from the party. She let him in, and he grabbed his clothes and went straight to the bathroom. Several minutes later, he emerged, wearing fresh clothes. He had shaved, and now Phoebe could clearly see the bruise forming on the side of his mouth. "I'll explain," he said, grabbing her hand and leading her out of the room.

Later in the day, Prue, Bane, Piper and Leo were sitting on the verandah, each still looking a little hung over. They were sipping on glasses of lemonade as they tried to remember what they had done last night, while also wondering where Phoebe and Kevin were. "There they are," Leo said suddenly, gesturing towards the lobby where Phoebe and Kevin had just come from. The couple made their way out on to the verandah and sat down several tables away from them. A waiter went up to them and they placed their orders. Phoebe was frowning and Prue and Piper could tell she was pissed. Kevin nodded in agreement and then pulled out the pile of newly developed pictures, just as the waiter came back with two ice cream sundaes. He set them down and left as Phoebe and Kevin continued to pore over the pictures, which the others couldn't make out from that distance. Phoebe leaned over to touch his cheek lightly. He closed his hand over hers. Grinning mischievously, the two stood up, unaware of the others. Prue waved to get their attention. "How are you my dear hung over sisters?" Phoebe asked dryly. "A little sympathy wouldn't hurt, Pheebs," Piper said quietly. "I don't remember asking you to get wasted," Phoebe retorted. "So, we decided to have a little fun! What's the big deal?" Prue asked testily. Phoebe sighed, but disarmed. "Okay. No big deal, but please. The next time you decide to do this sort of thing, lemme know in advance so I can make other plans," she responded. "Kevin, did you get into a brawl or something?" Bane asked, sensing the need to change the subject before things heated up, and also noticing the bruise on Kevin's face. Phoebe and Kevin rolled their eyes simultaneously. "Not really. It's just that my whitelighter took an unexpected swing at me thinking I was a demon after his love and her sisters," Kevin explained, the sarcasm evident in his voice. Leo blushed hotly. "Oh gosh. I'm sorry." Kevin shrugged it off. "Sorry for punching or sorry for getting drunk?" Phoebe muttered under her breath. "Okay…um…I guess we really screwed up, huh?" Piper asked sheepishly. Phoebe sighed, suppressing her irritability. "Yup, but you did give me a chance to get some new additions for the family album," Phoebe responded casually, exchanging smirks with her boyfriend. "What!" Kevin revealed the envelope and handed it to Phoebe. She just gave it to Piper who slipped out the pictures and gasped in embarrassment. The others soon followed and before any of them had a chance to react, Phoebe held up the camera, clicking away capturing the expressions on their faces. "You didn't? Phoebe, how could you?" Prue burst out. "Hey! I just captured the moment on camera. The act and all was yours," Phoebe said, a hint of triumph in her tone. "Oh, and you can ruin the pictures but I do have the negatives with me," she warned with a smirk.
******
After lunch that day, both Phoebe and Kevin disappeared. The others looked in all possible places but couldn't find the two lovebirds. Finally, deciding that they were probably still pissed and had gone off somewhere to be alone. The remainder of the group trouped down to the beach, Piper being careful not to expose her back. Piper couldn't help wonder what her baby sister was up to. Neither could Prue. She knew that Phoebe wasn't really as mad as she sounded. Otherwise, she would have blown her top as soon as Piper got up feeling sick. Instead, she had kept quiet. "I wonder where we can get a hold of one of those things. Seems like fun," Leo commented, looking out at the two jet-skis that were whizzing round the bay. "Yeah!" Bane agreed. "Only problem is you have to know how to use it and none of us do," Prue explained wistfully, staring at the black Jet Ski with purple lines along its side. Leo and Bane were looking at the dark blue one with red lines. "I'm sure I've seen that fella before," Bane said thoughtfully. On hearing this, they all turned their attention towards the blue ski. As they watched, the other ski also met up with the blue one, and then Prue could have sworn that the rider of the blue ski was pointing at them. The next minute, both skis were heading towards them at full speed!
As the skis got closer, Piper gasped aloud with recognition. "Phoebe!" "Kevin!" The two riders slowed their skis to a stop and hopped out, each pulling off their goggles and grinning widely. "Anyone wanna ride?" Phoebe asked lightly. "Whoa! Where'd you learn to ride like that?" Piper exclaimed in surprise. "Phoebe?" Prue asked in disbelief. "So you wanna ride or what? You'll miss out on a lot if you turn down the invitation," Kevin warned jokingly. "We don't know how to ride," Piper said, looking longingly at the ski. Phoebe smiled, dragging Piper to the ski and hopping on. "Get on an grab my waist. We'll go for a ride and if you like it I'll show ya how to drive this machine," she told her. Piper hesitated for a moment, before getting on behind her sister, wrapping her arms around her sister's waist. Phoebe revved the engine, heading away from the beach, slowly at first; giving Piper a chance to stay balanced and slowly increased speed. They took one quick ride round the bay before Phoebe brought it back to the beach. "So you want try this thing yourself?" Piper shook her head. "Nah. I'll settle for being a passenger," she said jumping off. Phoebe turned to Prue. "Big sis, how about a ride," she suggested. "I dunno Pheebs," Prue began. "Come on, Prue, just a little ride. Its fun." "Trust me," she added softly, putting on a puppy dog look to prove her point. Relenting, Prue got on behind Phoebe, wrapping her arms securely round her waist. "You'll be fine," Phoebe reassured gently, as she felt Prue's arms tighten around her waist as they headed away from the beach. Prue had to admit it was an amazing feeling. She was still a little fearful of falling, but seeing how well Phoebe manoeuvred the powerful machine, she knew her sister wouldn't let her fall. Phoebe brought it to a stop back at the beach. "That wasn't so bad," Prue admitted quietly. "I told you. Glad you enjoyed it, honey." Kevin came running up to them, just as Leo brought the ski in. "Doc, we have like 10 minutes to return these machines to the yard," he informed them, but mostly Phoebe. "Oh no, we're dead," Phoebe said, getting back on as Kevin took his from Leo and they pulled out side by side. "Those two are perfect for each other," Leo said, watching them racing across the bay. Prue and Piper could only smile.

The next morning when the sisters awoke, none of their men were there. All three of them had disappeared. "Happy Valentines Day guys," Phoebe said, opening the door of her room to find her sisters outside. "You too, Pheebs. Any idea where Bane and Leo are?" Prue asked, stepping inside. Phoebe shook her head with a shrug. "Nope. I dunno where Kevin is either," she told them, a smile spreading across her face. Deciding to go downstairs to have breakfast while they waited for their beau to return. They had barely sat down when Bane came in carrying a bouquet of roses. "Happy Valentines," he said, handing Prue the flowers. Prue took them and leaned in for a kiss. A minute later, Leo walked in carrying a large bunch of flowers and presented them to his wife, his blue eyes twinkling with love. Phoebe gazed around in search of Kevin, and saw that a lot of the other guests were following the same procedure. Leo leaned down for a kiss as Piper raised her head slightly. Kevin came last and he was carrying a dozen roses in one hand with a box of chocolates, and another two single roses in the other. He stepped up to them, handing the older Haliwells a single rose each and gave them a light peck on the cheek. He turned to Phoebe, his eyes sparkling as much as hers were. "Will you be my Valentine?" he teased softly, handing her the flowers and chocolate. Phoebe placed them on the table and linked her hands with his as their lips met for a long lingering kiss.

That evening, the sisters were all in Phoebe's room, getting ready for the Ball. Phoebe was sporting a black strapless that fit smoothly on her body showing every one of her curves to perfection. The dress glittered slightly when it was hit with direct light. Phoebe sighed as she put her hair up, leaving two curly locks to trail down the sides of her face. She went up to Piper who was struggling to get her necklace on and did the lock for her. "You look great," Phoebe complimented, eyeing her sister's reflection in the full-length mirror. "So do you," Piper responded with a smile. Prue came out of the bathroom and Phoebe raised her eyebrows. "Good looks definitely runs in the family," she commented. "Aren't you gonna wear a necklace or something?" Prue asked, observing her sister's bare neck. Phoebe brought her hand to it. "Oh yeah. You guys just have to see this, " she said excitedly, going over to the dresser and retrieving the velvet case form a drawer. She opened it, took out the choker and held it up for her sisters to see. Prue and Piper gasped in awe. "It's beautiful," Piper breathed. "My reaction exactly! Those two words convinced Kevin to buy it for me!" Phoebe said shaking her head, but smiling nevertheless. "Wow! You've got one special guy there!" Prue said with a secretive smile, knowing that her little sister would be engaged soon. "You're telling me," Phoebe said, fastening the clasp. "Let me," Prue said, stepping closer to do it for her sister. There was a knock on the door. Prue went to open it, finding Kevin on the other side, in a black tuxedo. He smiled at her, giving her a slight wink. Prue stared hard at him as realisation sunk in, but she said nothing. Phoebe stepped up to the door, smiling slightly. "Shall we?" Kevin asked, raising his arm slightly. In response, Phoebe slipped her hand through his arm and stepped out. "You look fabulous," he told her. "You don't look to bad either," she responded. "If you're my date and looking like this, I'll have to be at least presentable." "Don't worry. In my eyes, no one else even compares with you." Leo and Bane soon followed and the three couples headed into the elevator for a wonderful evening. "Whoa! It seems like a great party!" Phoebe said, eyeing the decorations. They settled at a large table as a waiter came and handed them the special menu for the night. Placing their orders they waited, eyeing the dance floor, the stage and everything else. "I wonder how P3's doing with its Valentines Night," Piper said thoughtfully. "It's probably full house by now," Phoebe responded. The arrangement was genuinely romantic, the entire area lit mostly by candles and dimmed down lights. Slow, sexy music was pouring out of the speakers. The waiters brought in their dishes and set it down, while a fourth wheeled a cart of beverages. As they were served with wine and sherry, Phoebe stifled a grin, shooting a glance across the table at Kevin. He grinned back, remembering the previous night. "Ugh! Stop rubbing it in you two!" Prue warned, seeing their expressions. After eating, they watched the other couples moving on to the dance floor for a while. "Let's dance," Kevin said, standing up and holding his hand to Phoebe who took it as she stood up. They moved onto the dance floor slowly, their bodies swaying gently to the music. Taking his cue, both Bane and Leo asked Prue and Piper onto the floor as well. After almost an hour of dancing on the crowded floor, Phoebe and Kevin stepped outside for fresh air. They stood on the veranda together, enjoying the silence between them while their eyes trailed out towards the sea.
"I would die for you
Lay down my life for you
The only thing that means everything to me
And when you're in my arms,
You make me prouder than anything I ever could achieve,
And you make everything that used to seem so big
Seem to be so small since you arrived
On angels wings
An angelic formation
On angels wings
Like letters in the sky
Now I know no matter what the question
Love is the answer
It's written on angel's wings.
"This is so perfect. It's like a dream and I'm so afraid of waking up," Phoebe confided softly. "It's very real, Phoebe. And you deserve every bit of it," Kevin told her softly. Phoebe smiled, shaking her head slightly. "I really don't know what I've ever done to deserve this. Two wonderful sisters, a great brother in law and mostly, a perfectly flawless boyfriend like you." "I sometimes wonder how on Earth I could have done anything to deserve you, your love and your heart. Its amazing!"
And I often wonder why
Someone as flawed as I
Deserves to be as happy as you make me.
So as the years go by
I'll be there by your side
And follow you wherever your heart takes me to
Coz you make everything that used to be so big
Seem to be so small since you arrived
Phoebe turned to study his handsome features. "After Jamie was killed, I swore to myself that I would never risk my heart again, but you crushed every ounce of my resolve so fast." Kevin returned her gaze. "And I don't regret that for one moment. I've grown to love you with every fibre of my being," he said softly. Kevin got down on one knee, retrieving a small box from his pocket. He took out the ring he had shown her sisters only weeks before. "Which is why I want to bind myself to you forever. Phoebe Marie Haliwell, will you marry me?" he whispered. Phoebe was surprised and her heart leaped to her throat, reliving a memory. But this time, she felt this complete feeling of fulfilment, something even Jamie hadn't brought her.
Now anyone who's felt the touch of heaven in their lives
Will know the way I'm feeling looking in my baby's eyes
That's why I can't bare to be too far away
I know that God must love me
Coz he sent you to me on angel's wings
She raised her hand slowly, slipping it into his waiting ones. Kevin slipped the beautiful ring onto her finger and placed a kiss on her hand. Little did they know that both Prue and Piper were witnessing this intimate moment, or that Prue was capturing everything on candid camera! Still holding her hand, Kevin rose to his feet, placing his other hand gently under her chin as he lowered his lips to meet hers in a passionate commitment of love and affection for each other. Without breaking the kiss, Kevin wrapped his arms around her, while Phoebe curled hers firmly around his neck. Prue continued clicking away for a minute. Then, she and Piper retreated to give them some true privacy. "Prue you're definitely in for it!" Piper warned her older sister. "They won't know until their wedding album comes out!" Prue responded nonchalantly, imagining the expression on her baby sister's face when she found out. "Their wedding album will have to be PG rated," Piper told her with a smirk.
Prue, Piper, Bane and Leo saw much of Phoebe and Kevin the rest of the night. They were obviously too into each other to remember her sisters. Prue and Piper were very happy for their baby sister, but hoped that things would work out fine this time.

And so, the rest of their vacation continued uneventfully with the sisters succeeding in spending plenty of quality time with their men and also with each other. Phoebe and Kevin were obviously over the moon with their engagement and were so wrapped up in each other. Luckily for them, the Charmed Ones and the Power of Three was not needed to engage in supernatural battles and so magic was left out of this vacation. Little did they know what was waiting to happen.
******
"We're home at last!" Prue exclaimed with a smile as Bane squeezed her waist. "Were you homesick?" Bane teased. Prue shook her head. "Of course not. Just glad to be on our own turf if things get wild," she told him. "Which they haven't," Piper said, sighing happily. "Yet," Phoebe added warningly, teleporting out of the room for a brief moment. "The BoS is fine," she announced. "Is that surprising? We did cast your spell," Piper told her. "We're powerful, but not perfect. It's okay to be safe just in case," Phoebe replied simply. "You worry too much," Piper said shaking her head. Phoebe rolled her eyes. "I learned from the best. Both my older sisters are particularly good at that," she responded smugly. Leo exchanged glances with Kevin and chuckled lightly. "Stubbornness is another trait that runs in the family." "Hey!" all three sisters responded fiercely. "What? It's the truth, isn't it," Kevin said, coming to Leo's defense. Phoebe shot him a glare. Leo looked up suddenly. "They're calling you," Piper said with a sigh. Leo nodded. "I'm just glad they let me be for two entire weeks." He stepped up to Piper, placing a quick kiss on her lips before orbing out. "So, when are you going back to work?" Prue asked of her younger sister and her fianc? "Monday," they replied in unison. "Seems like we've still got two more days," Kevin said, grinning playfully. Phoebe shook her head and rolled her eyes slightly towards her sisters as if to say, "See how desperate they are?" Prue and Piper laughed. Their laughter was short-lived when a flash of light appeared behind Phoebe, revealing a tall, strikingly handsome man, covered in a robe with jewels all over him. He had frighteningly ice blue eyes. Without a warning he grabbed Phoebe and threw her against the wall using telekinesis. She hit the wall with a thud and fell limply to the floor, knocked unconscious. Prue gestured with her hand to move him, but he didn't even budge. Piper threw up her hands to freeze him, but it didn't work either. "So you see Prudence, your powers don't work on me," he stated matter-of-factly. Prue just glared at him, her concern for her younger sister. She looked round when she heard Kevin cry out in pain as he received an electric shock, from trying to bring Phoebe into his arms using his powers. The stranger turned towards him. "You will not touch her, or rather summon her. I've been watching you, all of you. Your pathetic human emotions of love make me sick! But wait, if it weren't your greatest weakness I couldn't kill you!" He laughed evilly, making Piper shudder. Next, he threw up his hands much the same way as Piper did, and resulted in freezing them all. He gestured again, unfreezing just their heads. "How do you like to feel the effect of your own power?" he asked shooting a Piper a deadly glance. Prue looked down at her body and tried to move, but she was paralyzed. Why would he want their powers when he seemed to already have the same ones? Almost as if reading Prue's thoughts he answered. "This power works only once on any being. Once I touch them they will unfreeze and I cannot freeze them again," he explained, "But once I combine yours with mine, along with the psychic powers of your sister, I will be unstoppable!" Having finished his speech, he held out his hand and a large, yet finely crafted lancet materialized in his hands. "Now in what order shall I do this?" he asked, shrugging as he eyed the older sisters, Kevin and Bane. "Or shall I just kill your little sister and make you suffer?" he asked, almost as if he would heed their reply. Prue and Piper felt fearful lumps rise in their throats. Kevin gulped as Bane just stared, trying to come up with a plan.
Unknown to them, Phoebe had stirred, but was pretending to be out for her benefit. As the demon approached her, she shut her eyes, tensing as she waited for her one and only chance. One mistake could cost her not just her life, but those of her family as well. He stood over her, raising the lancet, poised to strike. "Wait!" Piper called out, her voice wavering. He turned. "Why should I listen to you?" "How can you be sure by killing us you'll receive our powers? What if they are lost with our souls?" she questioned, hoping she was right. "In that case, give me your powers or your sister dies right in front of your eyes," he threatened. Phoebe hesitated no longer. She braced her arms on the ground and hoisted her legs upwards, hitting him in the chest and causing him to stagger backwards, but the lancet remained in his grasp. As he lunged forward at her, Phoebe desperately rolled out of the way. She struggled to get to her feet, but her co-ordination wasn't normal because of the blow to her head and she wasn't quick enough. She felt a blinding pain tear through her lower abdomen paralyzing her. She cried out, closing her eyes as she fell back heavily. Leaving the knife embedded in her stomach, the demon quickly got to his feet and approached the still frozen sisters, Kevin and Bane.
Prue felt the color drain from her face as she saw her baby sister's expression contort in excruciating pain. Piper cried out her sister's name. Kevin and Bane gasped in horror. Kevin felt his anger and hate build up violently, but there was nothing he could do. Just meters away from him, the woman he loved, the woman he swore to protect and care for, for all eternity was lying there, her life slipping away with every breath and yet, there was nothing he could do. He was literally frozen to the spot. The demon's voice brought him out of his thoughts. "Tick tock. Tick Tock. Your sister's time is running out. She hasn't got much longer. Her life in exchange for your powers. It’s a fair deal," he bargained, seeing the tearful expressions on Prue and Piper's faces. "What do you say? Would you rather watch her die?" he pressed. "Prue, Piper…don't do it…He'll kill…you anyway," Phoebe protested weakly. "Shut up!" he yelled. Phoebe forced her eyes open for a moment, and she knew her sisters' resolve was weakening. She was willing to die for the greater good and so was each of her sisters, but none of them could bear to lose the other. She knew she had to do something. She dared to look at herself. Blood was trickling out of her wound and slowly soaking her clothes. She could see the handle of the lancet, decorated with jewels protruding from her body. Suddenly filled with determination, she wrapped the fingers of one hand around the handle of the lancet. She felt a stinging pain soar through her body as she did, but she bore it down with gritted teeth. Shutting her eyes tightly, she braced herself for the pain she was about to inflict on herself. Phoebe gripped the handle even harder and suddenly just pulled the lancet out of her as fast as she could. She bit on her lip so hard to keep from crying out she tasted blood, realizing she had split her lip. But the blood in her mouth was hardly a fraction of the volume that as pouring out of a stomach like a waterfall.
Prue, Piper, Kevin and Bane were listening to the demon's taunts but their eyes were on Phoebe. Piper had to hold her breath to stifle the scream that threatened to erupt from her mouth as she saw her little sister, painfully but determinedly draw out the deadly weapon that was embedded in her body. She felt the tears rolling down her cheeks as she saw the blood gushing out rapidly from Phoebe's wound. What happened next surprised and amazed them all. Clutching her bleeding wound with one hand, Phoebe forced her body to a sitting position. This reinforced the flow of blood and she felt the warm sticky liquid slipping out between her fingers. The pain was unbearable but her mind had shut it all out, refusing to focus on anything but the task she wanted to carry out. Phoebe didn't know if it would even be successful or if it would even go where it was supposed. Summoning up all her strength, she raised her hand and drew it back preparing to throw the lancet. She swung it forward and as her fingers released it, she called out. "You haven't finished me yet, you bastard!" The demon spun round just in time for the lancet soaked in Phoebe's blood to enter his heart, dead on target. He collapsed to his knees, as a white light emanating from the lancet engulfed him. Phoebe never got to see if her throw had been accurate. The force of throwing the lancet had pitched her forward, and in her weakened state, she collapsed to the floor. She felt the darkness hovering over her and tried to fight, but it eventually enclosed her. Her eyes closed…forever?
As the demon disappeared, Prue, Piper, Kevin and Bane felt their bodies suddenly respond to their commands. They all raced towards their fallen sister. Prue saw her sister's eyelids flutter as she struggled to keep them open, but eventually she gave in. "Phoebe, no! Please don't do this to me! You have to open your eyes!" Prue pleaded, nearly hysterical. "Leo! Leo! Where are you? We need you!" Piper called out frantically. Kevin just stared numbly and in shock at Phoebe's pale and lifeless figure, surrounded by an ever-growing pool of blood. He just reached over pressing his hands against the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Bane took in the sight with horror. He heard Piper call for Leo, and when no orbs came into view, he knew they had to do something. Silently, he reached over the coffee table and grabbed the phone, dialing 911.

Phoebe opened her eyes. She felt no pain. She saw her bleeding body lying limply on the operating Table, she herself had stood over so many times before. She saw the familiar faces working on her but she couldn't place them. Suddenly, everything was fuzzy. She couldn't remember much, just bits and pieces. She felt herself floating upwards as a golden light surrounded her. The she found herself walking towards a gate. She'd been here before when Jamie had died. This is where they had said goodbye. A realization hit her. Does this mean I'm dead? Phoebe shook her head. "I am not gonna die! Not after all this," she told herself, trying to stop her feet from moving, but it was like they had a mind of their own. Phoebe looked through the gate and saw Jamie, Mom, Grams and a lot of other people, smiling. For a moment she was tempted to just run through the gate, but her thoughts turned to her sisters. "No. I can't leave them. Kevin!" With steely determination she forced herself backward in the direction she had come. It wasn't an easy task when her body defiantly screamed refusal to go backwards but she pressed on. Suddenly, she felt the world spin and everything faded again. She was dimly aware of a flat-lined heart monitor coming back to life.

Prue and Piper were conversing with Phoebe's partner and doctor about their sister's condition when suddenly, the heart monitor flat lined again. A team of nurses came running in to the room and Prue and Piper were pushed back, tears of fear streaming down their faces. Dr. Delgado prepared to shock her. "Phoebe, dammit don't do this to me!" she muttered, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she looked at her partner's body. She was just about to place the irons on Phoebe's chest when the monitor suddenly resumed beeping, slowly at first but with each beat it grew stronger and steadier. Dana stared in amazement as did the other personnel and Prue and Piper as their sister fought back to life on her own. "Wow! One hell of a fighter!" an orderly commented. Prue and Piper cracked small smiles through their tears. Phoebe wasn't going to go down without a fight. They were filled with renewed hope.

Phoebe saw the darkness fade out into a misty gray fog. She struggled to open her eyes, but the fog seemed to heavy. The harder she fought the heavier the blanket of darkness. She was getting sick of this.

As the misty gray fog replaced the darkness, Phoebe was determined to conquer it this time. She pushed the darkness away, like she was swatting at it with imaginary hands. "Phoebe? Phoebe, if you can hear me squeeze my hand." A warm familiar voice swam into her thoughts. Kevin! Channeling all her energy into her hands she squeezed. She was rewarded with the warm touch on both her hands. "Baby, open your eyes. Try, please," Kevin encouraged gently. Phoebe turned her head towards his voice. Kevin saw her eyelids flutter. He could tell she was trying. Phoebe pushed at the weight keeping her eyes shut. She opened them a crack, flinching as the white light hit her. Kevin watched as a slit appeared between her eyelids. He waited patiently so he could look into those beautiful brown eyes again. Phoebe tried to speak, her lips trembling, but no sound came out. Her throat was parched and dry. "Take your time, sweetheart," Kevin urged softly, seeing her lips move. Prue and Piper stirred, hearing him talking to their sister. They leaned over to be able to see her face. "Is everyone okay?" she managed to get out in a barely audible raspy whisper. Kevin's jaw dropped in amazement. She had nearly died twice in the past week and the first thing she asked when she woke up was if they were okay! Prue and Piper shared his expression, looking at the tired brown eyes that were gazing back at them etched with worry and concern. Piper laughed tearfully, reaching for Phoebe's hand. "We’re fine. Thanks to you," Prue assured, reaching for her other hand as Kevin stepped back a bit. Over the years he had learned to respect and understands the sisters' love and concern for each other. Now, he retreated to give them some space. He would get his chance soon. They saw Phoebe's eyes lighten up with obvious relief and she closed them again briefly, taking in a deep breath through the mask. Prying her hands lose from her sisters' grasps she brought them up to her face slowly and skillfully removed the mask. "Are you sure?" Prue asked. Phoebe nodded in response. Talking was still difficult. "Water," she asked quietly. Kevin stepped over to the filter and poured some into a plastic cup as Phoebe slowly pulled herself painfully into a sitting position as Piper propped the pillows behind her. She took the cup with both hands and slowly brought it to her lips. Taking a long drink to moisturize her parched throat, she put the cup down on her lap, wincing as it brushed against her abdomen. "What day is it?" she questioned. "Wednesday, 26th," Kevin informed her. "Five days," Phoebe said thoughtfully, just as Leo orbed in. Phoebe smiled at him. "I take it you're not allowed to interfere," she said, already knowing the answer. Leo shook his head apologetically. "Sorry. It's not life threatening." "Anymore," Piper muttered. Phoebe squeezed her hand reassuringly. "It's okay. You would if you could," she told him understandingly. "What happened to who ever or whatever it was?" she asked, growing serious. "Daemon. He's vanquished. You killed him," Leo told her. "How? I passed out after throwing the dagger. I don't remember," Phoebe said, furrowing her brow. "The way to kill him was to smear the blood of a Charmed One on the blade of his own weapon and strike him in the heart with it," Leo explained. "My blood was all over the dagger so my throw was accurate?" Phoebe asked in disbelief. "Dead on target," Leo confirmed. Their conversation came to an end when Dana entered. "Hey Dana," Phoebe greeted with a grin. Her partner just shook her head. Phoebe placed a hand cautiously against her stomach. "So, Dr. Delgado, what's wrong with me?" Phoebe questioned. "You're really lucky. No damage to any internal organs except your right kidney which has a slight puncture. Excessive blood loss, we gave you back your own blood," Dana informed her partner and currently, patient. Dana was about to continue. "Let's see. 72 hours bed rest. Demerol painkillers. Renaline 3.5mg every 8 hours and Streptomycin every 12 hours. Did I miss anything?" Phoebe rattled on, cutting her off. Dana shook her head. "No. I'm supposed to be the doctor here, remember? Your medicine's in the auto system. Anything else?" she asked. Phoebe shook her head with a smile. "No doc. Oh, how's Mrs. Winston?" Dana turned at the door. "You don't wanna know!" she warned. Phoebe grinned. "I asked didn't I?" Dana shook her head. "For someone who scared the daylights outta me by flat lining twice, you sure are perky." "It just shows, you can't get rid of me that easily," Phoebe responded, as her partner walked out smiling in amazement. Leo shook his head, as did everyone else. Phoebe didn't see as she turned her head towards the IV system and pressed a couple of switches and then a throttle as she felt the drugs entering her body. She leaned back and turned to her sisters. "You guys are exhausted. Why don't you go get some sleep?" she suggested. Seeing they were about to protest, she continued. "It's not like I plan on going anywhere." Sighing they relented. Kevin leaned down to place a soft, deep kiss on her lips. She returned it gladly. "You better get outta here soon. There's more where that came from," he teased. "You bet. Besides, we've got a wedding to plan," Phoebe replied. Prue and Piper kissed Phoebe's forehead. "Love you Pheebs," they chorused. "Love you too. No go on and get some sleep. And stop worrying," Phoebe called after them. "Old habits die hard!" Prue responded as she closed the door behind her. Phoebe sighed. What an adventure their lives were. One day she was having the most wonderful time of her life and the next, she was fighting for her life, fatally wounded. But she knew deep down, that she wouldn't have it any other way.
