"Pass it around," Mike prompted. "Quit hogging."

Prue took another deep inhalation of the glowing marijuana between her fingers and passed it to Mike. She lay down on the grass beneath her and looked to the sky, giggling.

"Man, she’s gone," Nicked grinned, thick smoke pouring from his nose and mouth. He held out the foil and a glass tube to her. "Inhale when I tell you," he indicated, holding a flame underneath the teaspoon, then pouring it’s furiously bubbling contents onto the foil. "Now! Now! That’s it " he grinned. "Stop wait and exhale."

The three teenage boys watched as she sucked deeply through the tube, exhaled slowly, and, with extreme grace, fell backwards onto the grass, unconscious.

"She is so hot," Taylor smiled, standing over her.
"I think that’s unanimous, Taylor. So, who wants to go first?" Mike asked, edging toward her.

"Hi Piper speaking," Piper said as she picked up the telephone.
"Hey Piper, it’s Andy, Prue around?"
"Nope, she stayed at a friend’s last night and isn’t back yet. Sorry Andy," Piper informed.
"Which friend?"
"Jessica, I think."
"Jessica’s visiting her grandparents in Canada, last night was Nick Samuel’s party. Tell me that she didn’t go there, please?"
"Nick Samuels " Piper thought. "Who?"
"A very dangerous guy. Drug dealer. Very spooky. Can I come pick you up and we’ll go find her?"
"Can’t, Phoebe needs sitting."
"I’ll call you when I know something, bye." Andy replaced the receiver on its cradle and sighed. What was happening to his Prue? Why wasn’t she his anymore? If only he knew.

"Man! You’ve had enough already, it’s my turn!" Taylor yelled, trying to pull Nick off of Prue.
"Shut the f.ck up, dude," Nick grunted, pulling a gun from under the couch.
"Dude, what are you going to do with that? This really isn’t looking good; the drugs, the gun, the rape you got to stop! Mike’s already gone!" Taylor yelled, wiping the sweat from his brow.
"Mike’s had his turn. You need to shut up, dude," Nick spoke softly, as he pounded on Prue’s ribs.
"She’s going to wake up at any moment, she’s going to know what’s happened!" Taylor began to ramble.
"Taylor!" Nick yelled.
"What?"
"This..." Nick sent a trio bullets into the air with a deafening series of pounding, one of the bullets embedding itself in Taylor’s arm and the other two in his leg. Nick rose above him, zipped up his pants and left.

A few long minutes later, Andy entered Nick’s deserted mansion.

"Prue?" he called out as he slowly checked behind every door. He checked the living room and caught a glimpse of blood on the rose carpet.
"Anyone there?" he called out. He turned at the sound of gasping behind him. "Taylor?"

He watched the limp, bloodied form crawl across the floor to him and knelt down to him.

"Taylor, do you know where Prue is?"
"In the den " he stammered.
"Thanks man," Andy said before running into the den. He gasped himself when he saw Prue laying on the floor, naked, evidence of her own vomit on her face. He ran up close to her and attempted to wake her up.

Making no movement, he quickly dialed for an ambulance, covered her with a blanket and went to check on Taylor. He found him surrounded by blood still in the living room, shaking furiously.

"Taylor, what happened?"
"You’re going to go crazy " Taylor warned.
"Maybe, but I still need to know."
"Nick and Mike raped her."
"No, Prue wouldn’t go down without a fight."
"Nick’s room.. the safe. C...code th...three two f...f...five ni...ine."

Andy looked puzzled for a moment before hurrying up the stairs. He opened the safe and saw bags upon mini bags of marijuana, tiny sachets labeled with names on, and piles of money.

"Sh.t," he uttered, before leaving the room. He went back down to Prue and attempted to wake her again. Imminently, her eyelids fluttered open.

"Andy " she whispered roughly.
"Hey baby," he smiled. Suddenly her face contorted in pain and she began to scream. He knelt to her and carefully moved her head onto his lap. "Shhh it’s OK, an ambulance is coming," he tried to soothe her.
"N...no, Andy " she began to protest.
"I know they’re going to find drugs in your system but that doesn’t matter right now."

He stroked her hair as she dissolved into tears in his arms.

"Miss Halliwell, this is going to hurt but its procedure," the doctor spoke softly as he moved down to her feet.

"Wh what are you testing me for!" She screamed, knowing exactly what they were about to commence. Had someone really been sick enough to do that? Her friends, Mike, Nick and Taylor they would never do that would they? She began to hyperventilate.

"I’m very sorry about this," he began, moving back up to her head. "But we need to eliminate all of the possibilities." He felt so very sorry for the young girl. She was barely seventeen. Everyone knew what had happened to her, the young man who had been admitted beside her had relayed the story, and so had her friend, Andy.

Prue leaned into the bed as she felt the cold swab inside her. She squirmed, tears falling down her ivory cheeks and into her ebony hair. Eventually she could stand it no longer, and began to scream in pain and fear.

Prue woke up four hours later, surrounded by her family and Andy. She looked from Andy, to Phoebe, to Piper, and finally her grandmother, breaking into tears all over again. She felt so ashamed so disgusted with herself. She had betrayed her grandmother’s trust, been a poor example to Phoebe and lied to Piper. She had also broken the law, and she knew that soon enough she would be questioned on that. Her grandmother rushed toward her, still angry with her granddaughter, but her rage was overcome by her concern for her well...being.

"Shhh Prudence, it’s going to be OK," she said, holding her in her arms.
"I’m so scared Grams " Prue croaked.
"I know sweetie, we all are."
"I didn’t mean to I didn’t want to I’m sorry "
"You don’t have to be sorry, you didn’t ask for this. They found Nick and Mike."
Prue bit her bottom lip, confused. "I don’t understand."
Penny looked to her youngest granddaughters and Andy, "Could you three give us a moment?"
"No problem," Andy replied, excusing himself and Prue’s sisters from the room.
"What do you remember?" Penny asked, tenderly.

Prue remembered everything before and since passing out, could she tell her grandmother what she had done? "Prue I know about the drugs. They didn’t find high levels of them in you so they’re assuming you’re a newbie to the drug community, and you took too much for your initiation," Penny looked stern but compassionate. "I’m very sorry that this happened to you, no one deserves this. But it’s going to be OK, I promise," she said, placing an arm around the scared teenager and holding her close.
"I hope you’re right, but I’m still ashamed," Prue breathed, tears squeezing themselves from her eyes once more.

Two days later, a doctor stood at Prue’s bedside, the only person in the room other than Prue and Andy. Andy was her rock right then. He supported her more than she could have ever hoped for, igniting the recently extinguished, yet still palely glowing flame that once roared so strongly between them.

The doctor tied the thin rope around her upper arm and tightened it, and began to tap the inner side of her elbow. Eventually after much tightening and tapping, he inserted a needle into her arm and took a vial of blood.

"What’s this one for?" Andy asked.
"Pregnancy," the doctor informed, removing the needle from her arm.
"Pregnancy? I didn’t even think about that " Prue exclaimed, looking to Andy.
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "You’ll be fine, it’s just precaution."
"But I’m only seventeen. I can’t have a baby I want to go to college, I want to be a photographer "Prue pleaded with Andy as though it was his choice.
"I know baby, but whatever, we’ll get through it."
"I’m so glad you’re here," she confessed. "Don’t ever leave me please "
"I won’t," he pulled her closer. "Why would I do that?"
"Others have mom, dad "
"I’m not them. I’ll stay with you."

The next day, the same doctor entered the room. Penny was sat in the chair and Phoebe on the foot of Prue’s bed. All turned to await whatever news he was going to fire at them.

"I got the results of your blood test the uh pregnancy one " he probed, awaiting the explosion.
Prue gulped. "Am I pregnant?" she stared hard at him trying to read him.
He nodded slowly. "Yes you are."

She stared at him in disbelief and crumbled into tears. Phoebe climbed up the bed, barely understanding what had happened. She wrapped her arms around her scared older sister, "It’s going to be OK Prue," she smiled, whispering in her ear. "You’ll be a good mommy."
"Thanks Phoebe, but I won’t be."
"Yes you will; you’re a good mommy to me."
"No Phoebe, I’m not going to be a mommy," she crawled under the duvet, completely obscuring herself from view. She wanted only to crawl away and hide from everything she had ever known, ever hated. The aura of purity surrounding the miracle of birth was obliterated by pathos and rage.
As they were walking from the hospital, Phoebe looked to her grandmother.

"Grams, why is Prue sad if she’s having a baby?" the eleven year old asked. Not having a real mother figure and very over protective sisters meant that Phoebe had never been taught about sex.
"She isn’t ready for a baby right now Phoebe, she’s rather young," Penny explained.
"Why is she still in hospital? There’s only one tube in her," Phoebe asked, bewildered.
"She’s still hurt, she’ll be home soon."
"Oh I see "
"Are you OK?" Penny asked after a few moments silence.
"Why does Prue cry? I don’t like it "
"She’s just upset right now. I’ll explain when you’re old enough to understand."
"Grams?" Phoebe asked timidly. "Did the boys who hurt her give her the baby?"

Penny looked her granddaughter in the eye, not alarmed, but caught off...guard. She underestimated all of Patty’s children. She still thought of them as babies, not the beautiful young women that they were. She nodded silently; words only drew away from the harsh reality.

"Grams, Phoebe ate all of the cherries," Prue pouted, standing in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Then go to the store and get some more," Grams stated.
"No." Prue stalked off to her room to lay on her bed. She hated everything about her life right now, everything except for Andy. She couldn’t go out of the house without him. When she looked down at her slightly bulging belly, she thought of Andy, and where the love and life could have derived from, not of Nick and Mike. It all felt so unreal, she didn’t even know exactly who the father was. She was scared to death of every guy she came across, and although she trusted Andy she couldn’t be in the same room as him with the door closed. It was such a strange situation, when was it going to ever become normal again now that her life was changed forever? She was a mother now.

Twenty minutes later, a delicate rapping resounded at the door. "Prue?" the gentle voice asked.
"Come in, Piper," Prue allowed.

Piper timidly walked in and laid on the bed next to her sister.
"What’s up?" Prue asked, twirling Piper’s fine hair through her fingers.
"Just wanted to be with you," Piper stated simply. Prue knew what she meant, however. Neither of the two sisters had been the same since the incident; Prue was lonely and Piper was frightened. Frightened of following in her sister’s footsteps, after all, Prue was Piper and Phoebe’s role model, and no one wanted their tower to crumble.
"You know," Piper continued. "You don’t always have to be so strong. You don’t have to hide stuff from me."
Prue looked at her sister incredulously. "How can I share it with you?"
"What?" Piper asked, purely bewildered.
"All my life you and Phoebe have looked up to me. You glorified me beyond imagination and now you expect me to be humble. Screw you, I don’t know anything anymore," Prue spoke firmly but softly, looking down at her thumbs which she nervously twiddled. However, Piper remained resilient.

"I was just saying, if you ever want to talk, you know where I am."
With that, Prue was once alone in her room, and in her heart, lost like the little girl that she really was.

The next few months were extremely hard on Prue. The bigger the baby grew, the more she was reminded of her innate weakness, a weakness that only comes from being a female of the species, and a certain, more genetic, more Halliwell weakness for alpha...males. She had matured immensely during those few long months. By the time she was four months pregnant, she dropped out of high school, a teary goodbye. People were beginning to talk about her. What had happened was a secret; so naturally, the entire school was in on it. She felt alienated. Her friends had become fiends. She had been labeled "Irresponsible Junkie Girl" with a rather more explicit twist, her once superior reputation now completely egregious.

However in this unsurprising turn of events, Prue had strengthened. She had learnt through her plight that a lot of friends were only friends if you had something to offer them. Fair weather friends flee when the clouds over shadow sun, obliviously enjoying the calm before the storm. But, Prue would often think, when the storm hits, you really discover those of a disposition that you need to have by you forever. Those who flee from the rain are as good as those who initiate a struggle. Every mundane fiddling is as inopportune as an impossible task or problem. Prue learnt that she needed to rely on those who had stuck by her. Piper, Andy, and even in her naivety, her youngest sister, Phoebe.

She would still have many nightmares concerning her child’s conception, but eventually the fate of her inextricable torturers was unfolding in her subconscious. Criminals would be punished, and hers would definitely get theirs

Prue lay on the couch in the living room, her head on Andy’s lap as they watched television together. She held one hand over her swollen belly, her eyes slowly closing sleepily.

"You OK Prue?" Andy asked, looking down at her and playing with her thick ebony locks.
"Just sleepy " she spoke almost inaudibly.
"Go to sleep, I’m right here," he soothed.

Prue nodded and closed her eyes completely, succumbing to her fatigue.

The doors banged as the bed was wheeled through them. She cried in pain, completely alone.
Suddenly she was in a delivery room, doctors surrounding her.

"Miss Halliwell, you’re fully dilated, it’s time to try pushing "

Prue pushed as a wave of pain hit her. In seconds the doctor was holding her screaming baby in his arms. The doctor was wearing a hooded sweater, the hood up. Strange, he was wearing a mask and gown a few moments earlier.

"What?" she stammered looking weakly up at him. He let out a low, evil chuckle, and holding her baby with one hand, he lowered the hood with the other, grinning slyly.

"Nick!!!" Prue screamed.
"Prue?" Andy caught her as she bolted upright, her back ramrod, her hands holding her large stomach, her breath released in short, shallow pants.

"N...nick " she breathed, looking up at Andy with scared baby blue eyes.
"He’s in jail. He’s going to be there for a very long time, you know that."
"Yeah but the dream " she sniffed.
"Same dream?" he asked, knowing clearly what she meant. The closer Prue became to her due date, the more Andy was required. Any time that he wasn’t at school was usually spent with Prue, and Penny had even liberated her house rules enough to let Andy sleep in the same bed as Prue when she needed him, as curious a new development as it was.

Prue leant upwards and planted a soft kiss on his lips before pulling quickly away.

"What’s wrong?" he asked, looking down. He saw her clutching at her stomach, her head down.
"Is it time already?"
"It can’t be! It’s a month early!"

A few hours later, doctors in the delivery room surrounded Prue.

"Miss Halliwell, it’s time to push." This was it, the part that she had been dreading.
"I don’t want to!" Prue wailed.
"You’re going to have to, Prue, it was just a dream. Everything’s fine," Andy comforted
."Sir, are you family?" a doctor asked.
"No, but..."
"I’m sorry sir, but you’re going to have to wait outside "
"No!" Prue wailed, gripping tightly at Andy’s hand. "Andy has to stay!"

After a few softly spoken words, Andy left, but only to let Piper in. Six, long, tired hours later, and a good bone bruise to Piper's right palm, Prue nursed an infantile girl. She smiled up at Andy and her returned her warmth.

"We'll be going to get some food..." Penny said looking at the two youngsters, smiling. Penny, Piper and Phoebe then left the room.
Andy approached his girlfriend. "No thieving, no evil doctors, no loneliness..." he grinned and planted a delicate kiss on her lips.
"Pinch me and tell me that this isn't a dream," she looked at her sleeping baby girl.
"So what are you going to call her?" he asked.
"Well you gotta help me decide; I want you to be her daddy."

He looked up and kissed her passionately when he realized what she had just told him.

Prue's grandmother and sisters entered the hospital room a few hours later. Prue was alone with her baby, nursing her again.

"Does my great grand daughter have a name yet, Prudence?" Penelope smiled.
"Alexis Patricia," Prue murmured, not taking her eyes from her newborn.
"Can I hold Lexi?" Phoebe asked.
"Sure you can. Just don't drop her, she's really teeny," Prue warned. Phoebe hopped onto the bed and carefully took the white bundle into her arms, grinning constantly.
"She's red and wrinkly," Phoebe giggled, followed by her three onlookers.
"She's beautiful," Piper smiled. "Welcome to our world, Lexi. Beware of your Aunt Phoebe."
