My Hero
Song: Hero
Album: MUSIC BOX
------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
Prue – 16
Piper – 14
Phoebe – 10
Phoebe sat in the third row. Her legs dangling from her seat. It was the first day of school. Her sisters were excited, it was Piper’s freshman year and Prue finally got her license, but Grams had a plan to make her into a shofer. Phoebe, on the other hand, thought of it as just another school year.
A petite woman, with dark hair, stood in front of the class room. She was the newest teacher, and incharge of most girls sports. Finally the class settled. She was ready to begin. After the usual beginning of the year speech, she smiled.
"Class, our first assignment will not be due for the next week or two." The classroom filled with a lot moans. Mrs. Mabello ignored it. " What’s your definition of a hero? In this assignment, tell my that definition and who is your hero."
Phoebe smiled, she liked her. She liked a challenge. In the past years she had been board with the other assignments, they were too easy, she was up to a challenge now.
Hours later the bell rang and Phoebe sat waiting for Grams, thinking about what she was going to write about.
Her sister picked her up. She was still in her practice clothes and she was sweaty.
Phoebe climbed in.
"Hey Prue."
She looked tired and worn out.
"Hey, kiddo," she said in the perkiest way as possible. She didn’t do very well.
Soon Phoebe noticed Piper in the back and began to gab with her.
When they got home, Grams was just leaving.
"Listen, Prue take care of the girls. I’ll be home as soon as possible."
With that she ran down the front steps to her car. Prue confused waved.
Prue had had a heck day. People she barely knew rushing around asking her things, her boy friend was having a overly perky day and even though her was helpful Prue couldn’t handle it she was so tired. With Grams always leaving she felt so put upon. Grams always asked her to do things she needed space. She felt that no one cared.
Phoebe smiled. She knew who she was writing about.
Piper helped her fix dinner, they watched tv and they eventually went to bed.
The next morning was Saturday,(they thought it was unusual that the first day would be a Friday), Prue wondered down stairs and started some coffee. She wondered over to the breakfast table where Phoebe was working on her homework before. She soon began interested for Phoebe never worked on homework at the beginning of the weekend. She sat and read.
My Hero
By: Phoebe Halliwell
There are many definitions of heroes. I may not be right, and I’m not saying that someone else was wrong. I think a hero is a person that has a big effect on life. Some who you’ll never forget. He or she doesn’t have to be a famous, or old. Just important to you.
I was thinking long and hard. Finally I decided, after observing things that my sister, Prue is my hero.
She can anything. I know she can. Even though, she probably can’t create world peace, or learn how to feed the starving. I love my sister and when anyone asks her for something, she can always fix it, some way some how. She always knows what to do. She can always protect me from things even if I don’t want her to. I envy her, she knows what she believes in. Right now I don’t believe in much, other than what I need to get myself through the day.
I know she thinks she can’t do a lot, but to me, she can. To me she do anything. Even though she can’t tell me that she loves me, I know she does. No matter who else I meet in my life, no one will ever be as much as of a hero as Prue Halliwell. She’ll always be my sister my hero.
Prue wiped her tears. Someone cared.
